The little container under your seat is to help with the 50:1ratio. It is a mixing cup. If it is a original, those are very highly sought after. Thank you for The time and effort showing your super cool Vespa Piaggio Grande.

I bought a grande this summer and has fun with it but stock it’s topping out at 25mph or so. What’s the best bang for the buck as far as performance upgrades?

@@ultimusstatic new variator and and muffler with tuned jets for the carb with nice clean air filter. I also changed the rear variator for a larger one. I do 40 tops

@@micahwave150 awesome, thanks for the reply. Where did you purchase the parts? Specifically the variator?

@@ultimusstatic Also these Grandes came with two different sizes of carburator meant for different speed targets. You want the black and white 25 or 30 sticker on your sub frame, that tells u if you have the bigger carb or small carb. Make sure u get the 13/13 dellorto carb and get rid of that restricting sound dampening muffler.

In Italy, Piaggio was selling the "Ciao" back then, so this one was sold under the acquired brand Gilera as "Gilera CbA" ;-D

The small metal bottle under the seat is an oil bottle and its marked for different oil/gas ratios.

Hey, I have the same bike. I was wondering where I could buy some parts to fix it up?

This is awesome! I would be interested in knowing where you’re allowed to ride this bike? Is it street legal? Does it have turn signals? Where can’t you ride it? Looks like you live by the beach. Would be a cool shot if you had the ocean in the background and you drove it on the beach. Thanks! 🙏

It's street legal if you have an M1 or M2 license. No turn signals so you have to use hand signals like on a bike. You cant ride it on highways/freeways bc it does not go fast enough. I wish I could drive it on the beach!

I have an 81 piaggio grande and in the battery compartment there is an aluminum cylinder with 2 prongs. A grey wire is plugged into one prong and a red in the other. Just below that cylinder is a black square box about an inch by an inch square. With 4 prongs on the right a green wire is plugged in, o bottom is a red that is spliced from the cylinder to a female plug end I don’t know where it goes. On the left a white wire is plugged in and on top is and empty male prong. When I got it the spliced red was taped with an extension going to the pos of the battery and a black ground going to the neg terminal. What are those 2 parts and what plugs into to empty male prong on the black box?

I have one of these bikes but I need a lot of parts to fix it. Do you still have any parts or do you know where I can get some. Please help me, I can't get a driver's license because of my blackouts and I can't walk very far anymore

If i remember correctly everything fits just as it was. I did not have to machine or replace or modify any parts. I ordered the carb from Treatland
