I recently bought the 2021 model and love it for all the reasons you mentioned. You're not going to keep up with Jixxers or some others on the freeway but that's not the point of this bike. Very comfortable riding position and nimble in the city. That and Honda dependability makes this one a winner for me. Ride safe!
City streets in US look like EU highways :D. Anyway, I think it's ok for commuting in Europe as well. I used to ride PCX 125 scooter and squeeze through traffic and CBR500R is only 1cm wider.
With a full tank. How heavy is the bike In KG i want to be able to pick the bike up if i accidentally drop it. I owned a DRZ400E full take was sorta heavy and the bike was stock.

If you can do the speed limit then anyone passing you is breaking the law. NO future in that.
Damn right it is. If all I ever did, or the vast majority of my riding, was in a city environment I would totally have one.

The 2020 model will be almost exactly the same if you can't find a 2021 or 2022

A 125 is a beginner bike the 500 has more than enough of everything to get noob in serious trouble
It legit has a kw limit, whatever you feel comfortable with
I agree if a 500 is a beginner bike then the law is very lax.
If you don,t go to parties or the pub then a 500 is plenty.
