So, you got a suitcase of cash, which way do you go? LX7 turboprop or Evolution turboprop for the same price. JMB now owns and manufactures the Evolution overseas in Czech, I heard they’re going to do some design changes, who knows what that will do. The Lx7 is in Oregon, but It all comes down to one simple question, which one gets insured and how much is the premium. Nothing else matters other than that.

evo is bigger inside, so it has that going for it.

Pilots are getting insured in Cirrus jets and single engine turboprops as well as Honda Jets and other light jets from Cessna and Embraer. And of course there are numerous Lancair IV kitplanes flying.
They all manage to find insurance, presumably.

I can’t believe the price of piston singles today.

I see that they’re in the turboprop version, but they show a lot of piston footage and I can’t find a distinction in pricing online between the LX7 piston and LX7-20 turboprop. A new Cessna 172 is nearing 500k with options. A Cirrus turbo is *over * 1 million dollars. Used 172s can be 300k plus. I guess that’s what I’m saying.

New airplanes are hand built, or pretty much considering they don't build many of them at a high volume factories, like cars.
