Yeah especially during a full performance climb. Made me get the feeling that it’s delicate or touchy. Does it flame out if you don’t go forward a millimeter at a time and only up to 2/3?
The feeling you get just starting this plane as you listen to that turbine spool up means you made it in life, and the decisions you made were much smarter than the guys who went sr22t, da50rg. Especially when your out over the ocean turing the Golden Gate Bridge at night with an engine that’s a thousand times more reliable than any piston. Can’t go into Beta on short fields with a Mooney to slow down either, LX7 wins in every scenario.
Lol, yeah great decision on a totally untested aircraft refurbished from one of the most dangerous unstable platforms known to mankind. Throw in a BRS chute that has never once actually been tested on this airframe to know if it's going to rip the plane in half or not when deployed. While your passengers all have to crawl in through one door and a tiny cramped cabin, and a panel inundated with sloppy screen placement and different button ergonomics unlike the clean look of the cirrus. Have fun using that turbine to reach altitudes where all of your luggage freezes and anything in a bottle or tube explodes
This thing is WAY overpriced. You do not even get started with the million dollar conversion until you buy a used Lancair IVp from someone who will see you coming.
Hello EA. The LX7 is a conversion of the Lancair IVP. It has a purpose designed wing and tail that are unique to the LX7. There are quite a number of differences between the LX7 and the Evolution. The airplane has overall lower drag and has a smaller wing but slower stall speed than the Evolution. The cabin interior has been maximized for people space as well.
Evolution is a kit plane and no made anymore. This thing is a converstion. You have to buy an old Lancair IVp and it gets chopped up to make this plane.
After landing Standby on Transponder is wrong. ATC wants the transponder "On" now as many airports ground tracking uses that. But that's super critical. The flight was flawless!
What a Wanderflug feeling to fly. I wish i could learn to fly an airplane. And what better airplane than this sexy LX7. The only thing I can think that would be better is flying with the Blue Angels, or Thunderbirds.
mechanic friend said if its a cable operated fuel shut off you pulled, they work shutting off but they on everything they worked on, are required to visually check the valve has re opened fully, fool proof it isnt they said.
based on the cost of this aircraft build and the fact that L4 propjets are recording cruise speeds of 300+KTAS can someone comment on the relative benefits of the LX7 build? Perhaps this question has been asked and answered before ... if so just put a link in here with answers. Thanks
It is not a kit, it is a conversion. You have to buy a Lancair IVp from someone, then its wing is chopped of and replaced and the engine is also another purchase, half million bucks.
great video of what I think a great peace of machinery , I really get amazed with what this small airplanes do on our modern world of aviation , incredible performance with great amount of comfort and safety , regarding the avionics is absolutely incredible with what you can equipped general aviation this days . thanks for charing
The problem is, it changes the sound a little, increases the speed a little and quadruples the price of a lancair IV-P. Imagine instead a similar but much lighter single piece carbon hull with small twin turbofan engines. Not only does the noise disappear, it has ocean crossing redundant engines, faster because it's lighter and more fuel efficient because it's much lighter. And before you rely on prejudice, the world distance record without refueling belongs to a simple off the shelf turbofan jet engines of 40000km at 500km/h. I assume that compares favorably to the range of LX7. Try to understand how truly revolutionary a 250kg 4 seater twin jet aircraft would be that could profitably sell for 250k$. Because the engines would be 10-15kg each.
Hello Rohan. The LX7 is a conversion of the Lancair IVP which incorporates a large list of new components including wing, horizontal tail, and vertical stabilizer. It shares no aerodynamic commonality with the Lancair. Thanks for checking it out! There are other videos that help explain the airplane on the channel
Reminds me of a turbine Cirrus, and that’s a compliment cuz the Cirrus looks great, but I love turbine power. Once I started flying jets 10 years ago it’s reeeeally hard to go back to piston lol
Max, that is correct. Without a hot piston engine to limit power reductions, the power lever can be pulled to flight idle and the airplane slows and descends at the same time.
Am I the only one on here that wish he kept the throttle fully pinned at ALL times, just to see what this thing can do! 😈 jk. Nice video.

great, until it is not...............
@@jamesmorton7881 same as anything else that will move you fwd.

@@codmott286 In the pressurized baggage compartment ?
@@1STGeneral LX7 does not have pressurized baggage compartment. So make sure not to pack any toothpaste!
Great demo flight, check ride passed! Terrific airplane, vast aero improvement over original. Good demo of Garmin suite. 👍👍😊
Why use strobe lights while taxing? Not only they are annoying while on the taxiway, but bad airmanship blinding fellow aviators while taxing
Can you get weather radar with it?
Outstanding airplane. I will have to make a trip to your facility to check it out and in the next year or 2 have you build one for me.
That's a beautiful and almost perfect aircraft!
Is this quite similar to Mike Pateys Turbolence?
And what's the minimum required runway length?
Kinda but slower. Landing distance is 1800ft over a 50' obstacle. 1000ft for take off
Turbulence is 2 seater, this is 4, and the lx7 is pressurized de ice, i beleive turbulence is only oxygen and no de ice
Lovely little airplane. Would fly around the world with that thing!
Why are these fun machines only accessible for people who are really rich? 😭
I think that the 350HP Continental engine is a much better option.
What kind of range with four adults and full luggage compartment?
This thing is WAY overpriced. You do not even get started with the million dollar conversion until you buy a used Lancair IVp from someone who will see you coming.
It definitely needs more glass.
Fly this airplane in X-Plane 12 and wanted to get real world numbers to fly realistically as possible. Thanks this is a great help.
When I become a millionaire I'll be giving you guys a call.
Enjoy the frequently non-towered shit show that is Redmond.
The sidestick is my only problem with this and the other than use this control system.
Seems more like a Garmin demo than an LX7 demo.
I had the same thought
Beautiful pane Dave, will contact you when I stop at KRDM before next summer
The checklist feature of the Garmin is good to use…
Nice video! I really want one but that girl is not only a beast but a big step from my usual Stationair/Chancellor. Maybe in a few years!
Are these planes built in Redmond or?
How is this aircraft different from the Evolution ... which I have been in a flight in? Thank you.

Fantastic machine. I ❤ it. Might even swap my sr22 for it.... 😱
Will burn a hole in your pocket for sure; just traded my sr22 for a DA42. Turbo prop is still a dream for now.
@@tdgdbs1 yeah flew that one too. Next up Da62 😎 greetz
Familiar looking aircraft, Dave. Nice video….

I just watched a clip from Australia on an electric plane. The guy just pulled the charger out jumped in and left.
comes over the numbers as slow or slower than my ES
Do you ever fly into KTME? Would love to come out and check out that awesome bird.

excellent demo video... cheers

This plane would be good for Alaska wow wish it had spoilers on wings bigger tires fast and slow. Cool
Any de-ice available?
Yes! The airplane has electro-thermal deice installed standard.
I still remember my ride in the Legacy a few years ago…!!!
The three levers on the console, power, prop and what?
Small plane with a big motor.
Does it only have one comm radio?
It looks so weird with the long nose.
is it for sale by chance?
Did I hear correctly “the propell-air” 😂 like it

Is this a turbine Lancair or something ? that shape looks really familiar

Is this a certificated aircraft or experimental?
@@Pistolman1974 the airplane is an experimental amateur built airworthiness
Send me a brochure on this amazing aircraft
Will Do Bernard. Please send your address to info@LX7Aircraft.com
Autopilot will fly the hold?
Yes. I have the same autopilot in my Comanche and it will fly the whole approach and missed approach, including the hold.
What's the climb rate on this airplane?
We see 4500fpm with the -135 model
1025 fpm better than a p51 d model. Wow

No such thing as a turbine Cirrus. Cirrus makes piston singles and a jet aircraft.
What a great looking plane!
With the turbine to go down and slow down is a matter of coming back on the throttle? Does does the prop pitch aid in slowing down?
Max, that is correct. Without a hot piston engine to limit power reductions, the power lever can be pulled to flight idle and the airplane slows and descends at the same time.
And you can’t beta in the air. 😉
Very impressive! Would like to see an ILS approach to SeaTac down through the ice machine.
Experimental aircraft can never be FIKI certified. Going intentionally into ice with it isn't legal.
Nice toy
Nice tool
Perfect plane
Made me drool !!!!!!
