Warframe and D2 does the same. And I agree the grind is what keep people around and new people who needs to grind can find game easier. Yes, it is shit to not have your drops, but rng is rng. This is what this kind of game is. It's pve as of now, there is also no rush. All units aren't time limited and you can work at your own pace.

The first descendent does poorly in the way that the grind just isnt that fun, its just revisiting missions you have done pretty much hours prior and repeating them over and over.

My biggest issue is the inability to color your character freely. In theory, to unlock all colors for every character skin that's colorable, the minimum is roughly $2,184. The maximum is $4,004

Guess what, that Black is now gray, the red is pink and the gold and silver look like sand and crumpled aluminum for some dumb reason

Yes the point is to grind but the amount of grind is the issue. In warframe, for some of the easier to get ones i can get the warframe and build it and max it out in like 2 hours (if you didnt have to wait 3 days for it to build so i mean play time to get and max the frame). It takes way to long to get any of the descendants
Honestly when compared to running 1hr plus raids, 3x a week hoping for that exotic drop, when you can take the same amount of time in First Descendant and hopefully walk away with a new unique and some extra materials…I count that as a win.
New update added limits for drop rates. This way if you are grinding for something specific, after so many attempts you’re guaranteed the item. That helps a lot and I’ll admit I like how most things you farm for, it tells you where to get them. Still a grind but most micro transaction issues is with end game material. Only been out a month so it still has promise.
Gunplay is great. Gameplay is great. I work 8 to 5. So it’s a perfect game for me. Being free to play as well. I don’t care how much how i look. Long as the game feels and plays great. Which checks those boxes.
Yup usually when a game is like that n I got an extra 5 or 10 bucks I’ll by a skin for the fuck of it other than that never really been bothered by micro transactions cuz I understand companies do it to make money. I also understand that companies exploit the fuck out that. Especially with kids.
Well, play a 100 hours and grind. Spend $20 for something on transactions you like. Buy a $70 dollar and still have to buy a season pass in 3 month😮. Get only 40 hours out of it.
The grind isn't too bad for most descendants. I have 6 characters right now and I've played the game for under 150 hours total. I haven't been grinding for the characters all that time either. Mostly for weapons, catalyst, and energy activators. You'll occasionally hit a wall on one singular component with a really low drop rate, but if you just not give up on it you'll be glad you stayed with it.
this games grind actually pays off.. after 300 hours i am still loving it.. lots of different types of missions to run, the hardest grind was actually made so easy now... any warframe player will succeed easily here..

Collect everything? Take a break. Go outside, touch grass. The delightful part about Warframe is taking a break after collecting. It feels exactly like how thanos did when he achieved his life long goal and went to be a farmer. Or you could even spend your newfound time playing another game that you’ve always wanted to play. I don’t want the game to be another job on top of my preexisting job.

I don’t really care about the drop rates of items, I care more about being able to get to even have that opportunity. The outpost/fragments/reactors are an absolute headache. Especially collecting enough shards to get access to the reactors. That needs to be taken out completely otherwise the spawn rates during fragments need to happen all at once.

People are just very very dumb. You don't need to purchase anything and it really isn't that difficult to unlock a character you want. Plus the game is pve. It's not like you're competing against other people where you are at a disadvantage if you havnt spent money. Spending money only takes away potential content and time spent playing. It took me 1 day, start to finish to unlock 1 ultimate character. People are over reacting.
I've played about 150 hours and have filled my descendant slots including 1 ultimate that I grinded for and it wasn't even my main focus. It sucks sometimes when you are farming for the 3% drops or less but that's the game
That’s pretty luck tho if you really got a ultimate not even going for it. I’ve played 115 hours and I have gotten 1 ultimate Ajax part, however I have 8 descendants currently
I just started playing a few days ago. Besides my starter, Lepic, I got Bunny through the side quest that’s given to you. Then I got the side quest for Freyna & got 3 out of the 4 parts I need. For the last one, which supposedly has a 20% drop rate, I have done the Shelter mission more than 20 times and it still hasn’t dropped… I have spent a quarter of my total playtime doing this & besides being ridiculous it’s a complete turn off.

You're not forced to spend money. It's a personal choice. Unlocking everything by grinding isn't an issue if you plan on playing the game for a few years. I'll grind and spend money. Dont mind if i enjoy the game.
I just started playing and the grinding is the fun part. It’s very rewarding when you take a lot a work to get a new character and when you do they’re very strong and useful.
From someone who played wareframe I can say this game doesn’t force you to grind half as much for new guns and characters. I’m sure if people are patient and don’t like the prices for transaction there should be sales that will allow to to get content at a discount just like warframe does. I spent 20 bucks on a free game and was able to get the battle pass that is a good value and have enough for a new character plus new body and head skin for my Ajax. Not a bad deal at all for free to play

The only time you really get pushed into buying things is when you beat the story and start grinding things. You will wanna have enzo and sharen so that you can open vaults consistently and so that you can do infiltrations for the amorphous materials.

Got 4 additional characters (plus Bunny from missions and Ajax, character I picked to start) unlocked by just playing for free. You can play without paying for any cosmetics. So no complaints from me and thousands that’s playing for free. You like Destinity 2 or Warframe, good for you go play that. Also Micro-transaction is there for people who want it, not necessary to progress in game.
Have plenty of valid criticism I’ve gotten to end. I think it’s just not bad. It’s OK. i have spent 150 hours playing TFD and i can tell u that farming normal charcetrs takes max 3-4 hours and then just waiting till they finish crafting, the only grind is on the optional Ult characetrs wich can take from 20-40 hours to farm but its not as bad as he makes it out to be.

That either means you still havent beaten the game/ entered hard mode where stuff is easy to get or u dont have much playtime per day or even you didnt spent the whole 3 days farming but only a few hours per day. Saying 3 days doesnt really mean anything because u were not playing for 24h so say i grinded for 8 hours(example) and still didnt get her

I played this game for like 120 hours now and I already ran out of character slots and have like 90 % of the modules. I am however a person who played 5k hours of warframe and I immediately understood how the game works and you scale your character up.
Ur only powerful with good mods and builds with weapons which u cant buy u gotta earn tho...owning all the characters (big waste of money and u can earn in game) won't get u far just enables more playstyles
After playing the game I can confirm you cannot get all the descendants without paying money when you start you only get 10 character slot and there are 19 total in the game with more on the way
Everyone needs her. So, 50% is an understatement. It's not about the cake but in the late game, she can just run run run and you still stay ahead of other players playing other descendants.
Dude, that's not a problem if you played Warframe. When you earn something after grinding for it, having it in your possession is much sweeter than buying it outright.
Just an update for y’all who may see this. Yes this game is deeply flawed however the dev team is being very communicative about updating issues the game has. Like any looter shooter, the grind is real. Not as long as destiny or warframe but still what you would expect. I have close to 140h on it and have 3 of the 5 ultimate decedents currently available. If your lucky the game is fun, if your not it gets old real fast.

The comment above said “Just sound like warframe” which is false because Warframe microtransaction is nowhere near as predatory as in TDF and any player can earn platinum in Warframe by just playing the game. I never argued against the fact that TDF is almost identical to Warframe when you compare: descendants vs frames, modules vs mods, energy activators vs orokin catalyst, crystallization catalyst vs forma, mastery ranks, ect.

Let me be that guy once. I work full time 10+ hours a day, come home to chores kids etc. Play like 4 hours a day, have 2 ultimate Descendants fully catalyst and activated with mods fully maxed. As well as unlocked most of the normal descendants all farming. Not a hard game to farm at all.

I think you misunderstood the game 😂 the fun is to grind a new weapon or new char, i have 100 something hours, 6 chars grinded, a lot of fun had, and not a dime spend, i might at some point buy something just to support it, but you can 100% get everything for free.
The grind isn’t so bad I’m used to having worse grinds on Warframe. What I will say is that with Warframe specifically you can trade and get platinum that way so you really don’t have to pay at all and still get premium stuff. The Warframe grind is wild prime examples being voruna (pre omnia fissure) ,styanax , sevagoth etc were if you want them you it’ll take you weeks on end to get them. Styanax takes 5 weeks to complete im glad I had a coupon and spare platinum and saved that time. Only reason why I got voruna at all is because omnia fissures came out. If it weren’t for those I can guarantee I wouldn’t have voruna as quick as I did. In my opinion with last descendant you could throw in like 40 bucks and have a chill time grinding the rest.
you can get 3 or 4 decendants just buy playing the missions and you can buy another 2/3 for like 20pounds, we spend more money on take out without blinking.
I have no issues with the game. The shop makes up for the money where its free to play. Its only a problem is you are willing to buy. All games are grind and farm. If they weren't I will be able to obtain in one day. Then there will be nothing else to do.
I mean people need to understand that this isn't just warframe. Its destiny and warframes baby. Warframe never forces people to buy anything. That is your choice. It gives you the ability to earn everything via the game itself without spending a dime. But since its free to play they might stuggle to keep everything running because they don't make anything without microtransactions.
The grind is not even that bad. Now if you want ultimates the grind is bad but that is on purpose. If people grinded in hard mode they would see the game is really generous. I already have 7 descendants unlocked. It was rewarding when I unlocked things.
You cant justifie the grind in this game. Its beyond crazy. Half the stuff you want, you have to get a item for(which you might not get), then fight a boss and hope it drops the item (which it usually doesn't). Then you have to grind just to get kuiper to lvl up your descendant and weapon. On top of that the weapon and descendant go back to lvl 1 each time you use a module to slot in a sign. So if you want to use six signs, that six resets. Yeah tell me different.
The difference on the grind is that warframe just needs a well built farming team (Trinity EV, Hydroid, Nekron, and a good runner) just start a survival and find a location where to bottleneck ads and just stand there until you get what you want semi afk if you ask me the number of times i blacked out just standing lmao
This is basically MMO 101, I thought the mixed reviews were from lackluster gameplay or something about the actual game. I could care less about the grind, I’ve learned my lesson with these games but I always end up liking them, at least for a good while
The grind, even though it's a long one for Ultimate Descendants, is one of the best executed one. The loops are not perfect, but it is a targeted grind, meaning I know exactly WHAT to farm and WHERE to farm it and not be a slave to some global RNG bullshit and just hope that it drops and that's why I'm still playing it. I'm on my way to get Ultimate Bunny for free.
The game knowingly made their cosmetic system confusing causing thousands of players to make purchases for leptic instead of the descendant they were playing as making it thievery. They won’t give these players a refund

It’s not “competing” with Warframe. Those who play Warframe will always just play Warframe. That player base is locked. It is objectively the best game in the genre. But that’s like saying “OnePiece is the best anime.” Because if you’ve been reading OnePiece since the beginning then you have emotional investment, and every new volume makes sense because you’re caught up on the story. If you’ve NEVER read OnePiece, you’d be hard pressed to figure out what all the hype is about. Same sitch with Warframe. If you didn’t hop onto the warframe train back in 2012, you’re fucked. You’ll never have a good time, you’ll always be confused, all your friends will have cooler shit than you, you’ll feel like a country boy in New York.
Currently on 40 hours and have 5 characters with 2 more about to be finished whenever I get home. Barring the ultimate variants I got half the characters in less time then it would take me in overwatch 2. I think the main issue is that getting a character seems overwhelming at first and though possible to get them early game, the drop rates are terrible. You have to get further in the game to get good drop rates. So I think a lot of people are looking at the first boss only having a 6% drop rate for a character part and thinking that it’s only chance they have. I admit I was tempted to buy one character, but I just looked up a guide and was able to get them in just a day or two of play.
Ive been playing it for like 2 weeks now and honestly i like it and in my opinion it feels almost exactly like war frame and i loved warframe even as a F2P because i love grinding
🍒 yknow, an easy way to revamp the paint system would be to make paints something to grind for, and with a relatively okay drop chance. like, if i wanted white paint i could go to a specific mission and farm for said paint with idk, like a 10% drop chance. that way getting the paint and customizing your character feels more rewarding. by doing so, you could keep the microtransactions in the game for people too lazy to farm and have some money left in their wallet, while also appealing to f2p players by giving them a way to grind the color they want. thats how monetization within a f2p game SHOULD be. like, "we have pretty grindey alternatives to getting the things you want, but these alternatives are NOT seemingly impossible, and we also have mictrotransactions that support us directly while giving you the things you want in return, grind-free."
Let's be real. Most players have no desire to have EVERY character. They see he few they want and that's all they'll grind for and finding to pick and choose as new ones are released. So those hundreds of hours are reduced to maybe a few hours per ultimate. If you have FOMO, however, seek help

Personally I find the grind easier here due to the actual length of missions, in Warframe every mission is 10 minutes AT LEAST and i'll need to do them 8+ times maybe to get an item or enough items to make one thing I've gotten multiple descendants almost passively from just playing the game or playing a 2 minute mission and getting it in a handful of tries
lol the grind isn't terrible, I've been able to get most of what I want with a couple hours of dedication to each specific thing. It's a free game with shooty pew pews where you can get everything except some cosmetic crap in game. You're not forced to spend a dime.
I played for 25h now. I have 8 descendants and 7 gold weapons. You don't have to buy anything if you don't want to. Just because you're lazy, doesn't mean the game is p2w
I’ve been playing for about 125 hours. I have 9 descendants and about to have my first ultimate. The only money spent was game pass “10 bucks” so yea grind. But focused grind gets you things pretty fast. Better than other games for sure. I should add that I have been through the main story.
The mixed reviews are from the TOS clauses primarily actually. Ppl misinterpreted the terms of service and thought they needed to provide gov issued ID’s to play bcuz in countries in Asia you must do so. You can still make OP builds and have fun with no micro transactions
I don't understand people shelling out money to skip the looter part of a looter shooter. The whole point of it was to farm things to make you get better at farming other stuff. You are paying to skip the meat and potatoes of the game.
It’s made for people who like to grind. Players want games too easy nowadays, and it decreases the games play value and feeling of reward when you do accomplish something. Plus not everyone should get everything. Good gear should go to good/dedicated players. Who wants to play a game where everyone has the same crap cuz anyone can get it?
I think the Grind is blown way out of proportion. I was able to get Ultimate Lepic and U.Bunny in approximately 50 to 60 hours you just have to know how to boost your odds with certain items
I’ll never understand people complaining about micro transactions in a free to play game, let alone a looter shooter where a majority of the content can be grinded for. If you aren’t up for the grind then then play the game?
I feel like this is slightly misleading. The game has some pretty easy characters to unlock that do not take 100’s of hours to get. In fact majority of the characters are not extraordinarily difficult to unlock. The ones that take a ridiculous amount of time are the ultimates which you don’t even need. It’s a great game that’s completely free and I recommend if you’re thinking about playing, just get it and try it out. If you do end up liking it my biggest recommendation is to not rush the story. I took it very slow and did some pre grinding and it saved me tons of time and really helped extend the story’s life while keeping me engaged.
I played ut and had lots of fun with my friends for about 150h without a single MT. I bought a skin to support the developer. At the same time, I had to pay $70 for 20h of Diablo 4 gameplay...
my only issue is the lack of content. i played the whole story and maxed 2 characters in less than 30hrs. all thats left is grinding the same few missions to farm for a dozen more characters with near impossible odds of getting the many items required to obtain them.
"maxed" as in you got them to 40? That's not maxed if that's what your saying. Truly maxed is when you've leveled them 6 times to 40 crystalizing the mod slots, and how many times did you do that to your main weapon? This is a looter shooter grinding game, and to get those items you have to put in the work, esp since it's FTP.

Have you done all the special operations to completion? Have you done every mission on hard mode? Have you leveled your ultimate weapon to the max? If not then it's not a lack of content you just don't have the patients to finish everything and want the quick fix. Might be time to move to a different game if the grind is getting to you, the rest of us will keep on the grind.
Just started. Never played a shooter looters game before. Have no idea what I'm doing. But this random did team up with me and one shot the Grave Walker for us, so that was nice.

Guess what, that Black is now gray, the red is pink and the gold and silver look like sand and crumpled aluminum for some dumb reason

Yes the point is to grind but the amount of grind is the issue. In warframe, for some of the easier to get ones i can get the warframe and build it and max it out in like 2 hours (if you didnt have to wait 3 days for it to build so i mean play time to get and max the frame). It takes way to long to get any of the descendants
U know some missions have a 100% drop rate for a blueprint but the blueprint never drops for a huge amount of players.....

I love this game so much. Been a while since I played a good looter shooter.
New update added limits for drop rates. This way if you are grinding for something specific, after so many attempts you’re guaranteed the item. That helps a lot and I’ll admit I like how most things you farm for, it tells you where to get them. Still a grind but most micro transaction issues is with end game material. Only been out a month so it still has promise.
Gunplay is great. Gameplay is great. I work 8 to 5. So it’s a perfect game for me. Being free to play as well. I don’t care how much how i look. Long as the game feels and plays great. Which checks those boxes.

The grind isn't too bad for most descendants. I have 6 characters right now and I've played the game for under 150 hours total. I haven't been grinding for the characters all that time either. Mostly for weapons, catalyst, and energy activators. You'll occasionally hit a wall on one singular component with a really low drop rate, but if you just not give up on it you'll be glad you stayed with it.

Collect everything? Take a break. Go outside, touch grass. The delightful part about Warframe is taking a break after collecting. It feels exactly like how thanos did when he achieved his life long goal and went to be a farmer. Or you could even spend your newfound time playing another game that you’ve always wanted to play. @@bcarp3 weird, you understand that Warframe has been in the game for a long time because of its structures, yet don’t comprehend how those structures could help TFD even more. Picking and choosing. I don’t really care about the drop rates of items, I care more about being able to get to even have that opportunity. The outpost/fragments/reactors are an absolute headache. Especially collecting enough shards to get access to the reactors. That needs to be taken out completely otherwise the spawn rates during fragments need to happen all at once.

People are just very very dumb. You don't need to purchase anything and it really isn't that difficult to unlock a character you want. Plus the game is pve. It's not like you're competing against other people where you are at a disadvantage if you havnt spent money. Spending money only takes away potential content and time spent playing. It took me 1 day, start to finish to unlock 1 ultimate character. People are over reacting.
I've played about 150 hours and have filled my descendant slots including 1 ultimate that I grinded for and it wasn't even my main focus. It sucks sometimes when you are farming for the 3% drops or less but that's the game

I just started playing a few days ago.
Besides my starter, Lepic, I got Bunny through the side quest that’s given to you.
Then I got the side quest for Freyna & got 3 out of the 4 parts I need. For the last one, which supposedly has a 20% drop rate, I have done the Shelter mission more than 20 times and it still hasn’t dropped…
I have spent a quarter of my total playtime doing this & besides being ridiculous it’s a complete turn off.

From someone who played wareframe I can say this game doesn’t force you to grind half as much for new guns and characters. I’m sure if people are patient and don’t like the prices for transaction there should be sales that will allow to to get content at a discount just like warframe does. I spent 20 bucks on a free game and was able to get the battle pass that is a good value and have enough for a new character plus new body and head skin for my Ajax. Not a bad deal at all for free to play

The only time you really get pushed into buying things is when you beat the story and start grinding things. You will wanna have enzo and sharen so that you can open vaults consistently and so that you can do infiltrations for the amorphous materials.

Happy to grind for all the stuff. My minor irk is having to buy "descendant slots" the point of the game for me is to unlock everything and having more than 10 at once is locked behind a paywall. Hopefully they'll add some way to get slots for free, maybe in the battle pass point shop or something.

Got 4 additional characters (plus Bunny from missions and Ajax, character I picked to start) unlocked by just playing for free. You can play without paying for any cosmetics. So no complaints from me and thousands that’s playing for free.

Also Micro-transaction is there for people who want it, not necessary to progress in game.

i have spent 150 hours playing TFD and i can tell u that farming normal charcetrs takes max 3-4 hours and then just waiting till they finish crafting, the only grind is on the optional Ult characetrs wich can take from 20-40 hours to farm but its not as bad as he makes it out to be.
oh and btw once u unlock the ult characters the skins for them get a discount and cost like 20 euro

That either means you still havent beaten the game/ entered hard mode where stuff is easy to get or u dont have much playtime per day or even you didnt spent the whole 3 days farming but only a few hours per day. After playing the game I can confirm you cannot get all the descendants without paying money when you start you only get 10 character slot and there are 19 total in the game with more on the way

Just an update for y’all who may see this. Yes this game is deeply flawed however the dev team is being very communicative about updating issues the game has. Like any looter shooter, the grind is real. Not as long as destiny or warframe but still what you would expect. I have close to 140h on it and have 3 of the 5 ultimate decedents currently available. If your lucky the game is fun, if your not it gets old real fast.

I never argued against the fact that TDF is almost identical to Warframe when you compare: descendants vs frames, modules vs mods, energy activators vs orokin catalyst, crystallization catalyst vs forma, mastery ranks, ect.

Let me be that guy once. I work full time 10+ hours a day, come home to chores kids etc. Play like 4 hours a day, have 2 ultimate Descendants fully catalyst and activated with mods fully maxed. As well as unlocked most of the normal descendants all farming. Not a hard game to farm at all.

Warframe let's you actually progress games at a reasonable progression while nexon is known for giving rng boxes that often have INSANE gear or progression while it would take you minimum of years to afford off a whale who purchased said gear... (maplestory, mabinogi and vindictus)
This is coming from someone who spent THOUSANDS on each of their games just to watch them drive them into the ground each time.....

I think you misunderstood the game 😂 the fun is to grind a new weapon or new char, i have 100 something hours, 6 chars grinded, a lot of fun had, and not a dime spend, i might at some point buy something just to support it, but you can 100% get everything for free.
The grind isn’t so bad I’m used to having worse grinds on Warframe. What I will say is that with Warframe specifically you can trade and get platinum that way so you really don’t have to pay at all and still get premium stuff. The Warframe grind is wild prime examples being voruna (pre omnia fissure) ,styanax , sevagoth etc were if you want them you it’ll take you weeks on end to get them. Styanax takes 5 weeks to complete im glad I had a coupon and spare platinum and saved that time. Only reason why I got voruna at all is because omnia fissures came out. If it weren’t for those I can guarantee I wouldn’t have voruna as quick as I did. In my opinion with last descendant you could throw in like 40 bucks and have a chill time grinding the rest.
This game is fun but in the start is easy but if you dont have good weapons in a high level than its hard
you can get 3 or 4 decendants just buy playing the missions and you can buy another 2/3 for like 20pounds, we spend more money on take out without blinking.
I have no issues with the game. The shop makes up for the money where its free to play. Its only a problem is you are willing to buy. All games are grind and farm. If they weren't I will be able to obtain in one day. Then there will be nothing else to do.
I mean people need to understand that this isn't just warframe. Its destiny and warframes baby. Warframe never forces people to buy anything. That is your choice. It gives you the ability to earn everything via the game itself without spending a dime. But since its free to play they might stuggle to keep everything running because they don't make anything without microtransactions.
The grind is not even that bad. Now if you want ultimates the grind is bad but that is on purpose. If people grinded in hard mode they would see the game is really generous. I already have 7 descendants unlocked. It was rewarding when I unlocked things.
You cant justifie the grind in this game. Its beyond crazy. Half the stuff you want, you have to get a item for(which you might not get), then fight a boss and hope it drops the item (which it usually doesn't). Then you have to grind just to get kuiper to lvl up your descendant and weapon. On top of that the weapon and descendant go back to lvl 1 each time you use a module to slot in a sign. So if you want to use six signs, that six resets. Yeah tell me different.
The difference on the grind is that warframe just needs a well built farming team (Trinity EV, Hydroid, Nekron, and a good runner)
just start a survival and find a location where to bottleneck ads and just stand there until you get what you want semi afk if you ask me the number of times i blacked out just standing lmao
This is basically MMO 101, I thought the mixed reviews were from lackluster gameplay or something about the actual game. I could care less about the grind, I’ve learned my lesson with these games but I always end up liking them, at least for a good while

The grind, even though it's a long one for Ultimate Descendants, is one of the best executed one. The loops are not perfect, but it is a targeted grind, meaning I know exactly WHAT to farm and WHERE to farm it and not be a slave to some global RNG bullshit and just hope that it drops and that's why I'm still playing it. I'm on my way to get Ultimate Bunny for free.
The game knowingly made their cosmetic system confusing causing thousands of players to make purchases for leptic instead of the descendant they were playing as making it thievery. They won’t give these players a refund
i dont get why ppl giving mixed reviews i didnt play more than 70 hours of warfrane to be fair but from experienced friends i hear the warframe grind is basically the same and you can also pay to progress so whats the problem?
It’s not “competing” with Warframe. Those who play Warframe will always just play Warframe. That player base is locked. It is objectively the best game in the genre.
But that’s like saying “OnePiece is the best anime.” Because if you’ve been reading OnePiece since the beginning then you have emotional investment, and every new volume makes sense because you’re caught up on the story. If you’ve NEVER read OnePiece, you’d be hard pressed to figure out what all the hype is about.
Same sitch with Warframe. If you didn’t hop onto the warframe train back in 2012, you’re fucked. You’ll never have a good time, you’ll always be confused, all your friends will have cooler shit than you, you’ll feel like a country boy in New York.

Currently on 40 hours and have 5 characters with 2 more about to be finished whenever I get home.
Barring the ultimate variants I got half the characters in less time then it would take me in overwatch 2.
I think the main issue is that getting a character seems overwhelming at first and though possible to get them early game, the drop rates are terrible. You have to get further in the game to get good drop rates. So I think a lot of people are looking at the first boss only having a 6% drop rate for a character part and thinking that it’s only chance they have.
I admit I was tempted to buy one character, but I just looked up a guide and was able to get them in just a day or two of play.
Ive been playing it for like 2 weeks now and honestly i like it and in my opinion it feels almost exactly like war frame and i loved warframe even as a F2P because i love grinding
🍒 yknow, an easy way to revamp the paint system would be to make paints something to grind for, and with a relatively okay drop chance. like, if i wanted white paint i could go to a specific mission and farm for said paint with idk, like a 10% drop chance. that way getting the paint and customizing your character feels more rewarding. by doing so, you could keep the microtransactions in the game for people too lazy to farm and have some money left in their wallet, while also appealing to f2p players by giving them a way to grind the color they want.
thats how monetization within a f2p game SHOULD be. like, "we have pretty grindey alternatives to getting the things you want, but these alternatives are NOT seemingly impossible, and we also have mictrotransactions that support us directly while giving you the things you want in return, grind-free."
Let's be real. Most players have no desire to have EVERY character. They see he few they want and that's all they'll grind for and finding to pick and choose as new ones are released.
So those hundreds of hours are reduced to maybe a few hours per ultimate.

As a warframe player since 2014 the grind in the first descendant is not that bad whatsoever
some people are complaining bc they have to grind hundreds of hours to get the ultimate characters... it's just not true. im working 9-5 as well and got most the stuff i wanted relatively quickly, wothout getting insane luck
Personally I find the grind easier here due to the actual length of missions, in Warframe every mission is 10 minutes AT LEAST and i'll need to do them 8+ times maybe to get an item or enough items to make one thing
I've gotten multiple descendants almost passively from just playing the game or playing a 2 minute mission and getting it in a handful of tries
As a warframe vet the grind is nothing! These games are meant to be a marathon not a sprint.

It's a free game with shooty pew pews where you can get everything except some cosmetic crap in game. You're not forced to spend a dime.
I played for 25h now. I have 8 descendants and 7 gold weapons. You don't have to buy anything if you don't want to. Just because you're lazy, doesn't mean the game is p2w
I’ve been playing for about 125 hours. I have 9 descendants and about to have my first ultimate. The only money spent was game pass “10 bucks” so yea grind. But focused grind gets you things pretty fast. Better than other games for sure. I should add that I have been through the main story.
Game is a lot of fun. You can grind and get everything. Drop rates are about to get a fix tomorrow

1 thing I hate as a warframe player is that they cap our free slots. so we only get 10 character slots and have to spend money to get more.
No it's the fact that in the contract you have to sign it states that what you buy in this game isn't owned by you.
The mixed reviews are from the TOS clauses primarily actually. Ppl misinterpreted the terms of service and thought they needed to provide gov issued ID’s to play bcuz in countries in Asia you must do so.
You can still make OP builds and have fun with no micro transactions
I don't understand people shelling out money to skip the looter part of a looter shooter. The whole point of it was to farm things to make you get better at farming other stuff. You are paying to skip the meat and potatoes of the game.
Guys like this haven’t actually played the game to realize how easy the grind is to obtain base character versions.
It’s made for people who like to grind. Players want games too easy nowadays, and it decreases the games play value and feeling of reward when you do accomplish something. Plus not everyone should get everything. Good gear should go to good/dedicated players. Who wants to play a game where everyone has the same crap cuz anyone can get it?
I think the Grind is blown way out of proportion. I was able to get Ultimate Lepic and U.Bunny in approximately 50 to 60 hours you just have to know how to boost your odds with certain items
17 runs of one mission for a 20% chance drop, got the 2% drop 3 times. 8-9min per run
As long as it's supported and keeps the game fun and not p2w. You don't have to buy. Hopefully it doesn't fall off
I’ll never understand people complaining about micro transactions in a free to play game, let alone a looter shooter where a majority of the content can be grinded for. If you aren’t up for the grind then then play the game?

I feel like this is slightly misleading. The game has some pretty easy characters to unlock that do not take 100’s of hours to get. In fact majority of the characters are not extraordinarily difficult to unlock. The ones that take a ridiculous amount of time are the ultimates which you don’t even need. It’s a great game that’s completely free and I recommend if you’re thinking about playing, just get it and try it out. If you do end up liking it my biggest recommendation is to not rush the story. I took it very slow and did some pre grinding and it saved me tons of time and really helped extend the story’s life while keeping me engaged.
I played ut and had lots of fun with my friends for about 150h without a single MT. I bought a skin to support the developer.
At the same time, I had to pay $70 for 20h of Diablo 4 gameplay...
my only issue is the lack of content. i played the whole story and maxed 2 characters in less than 30hrs. all thats left is grinding the same few missions to farm for a dozen more characters with near impossible odds of getting the many items required to obtain them.
"maxed" as in you got them to 40? That's not maxed if that's what your saying. Truly maxed is when you've leveled them 6 times to 40 crystalizing the mod slots, and how many times did you do that to your main weapon? This is a looter shooter grinding game, and to get those items you have to put in the work, esp since it's FTP.

@@micheal7517 then this isn't your type of game. The rest of us knew what we were getting into and knew there would be a grind. Let me ask, have you beat every intercept battle? Have you done all the special operations to completion? Have you done every mission on hard mode? Have you leveled your ultimate weapon to the max? If not then it's not a lack of content you just don't have the patients to finish everything and want the quick fix. Might be time to move to a different game if the grind is getting to you, the rest of us will keep on the grind.
Just started. Never played a shooter looters game before. Have no idea what I'm doing. But this random did team up with me and one shot the Grave Walker for us, so that was nice.
That’s the whole point of this game that makes the grind rewarding. If you ain’t about that RPG grind then just stop. This isn’t a first person quick game like y’all want m. It’s hard and fun so stop expecting everything easy
