Ive kept a food diary for about 200 days & i feel u on this. I can be cool & thinking "oh yeah low fodmap is workin !! I dont even need this diary !!" Then sumn can derail me for the next 6 weeks (currently) its saurrr hard & frustrating i lose. Currently hot water bottles (the pressure rly makes my distended belly feel better) & ginger tea help !!

I feel your discomfort! I follow a low fodmap diet and have recently been diagnosed with a form of Colitis. I'm not coeliac, but wheat and lactose are major triggers for me. I miss chocolate! I wish GF and LF products weren't so darn expensive. Aren't we suffering enough 🤣

I went to the supermarket here in Australia last week and was looking through the easter chocolates and I remembered that you mentioned the KitKat bunnies being GF. In Australia, they actually contain gluten sadly :( I was so excited to try them until I read the ingredients. Just a FYI for any other Aussies to check ingredients.

Thanks for this Becky, I’m a year down the diagnosis process but still waiting to see a dietician. I’m sure I’m GF but still struggling with stomach issues and think I have ibs. It’s good to know I’m not alone anyway in my random struggles.
Thanks for the Easter update, I avoid Kitkat now so you’ve made my day, I’ll be off on a bunny hunt 😍

Hey mdear, definitely give the doctors a polite push in terms of seeing a dietician, i think everything is super delayed at the moment but it can't hurt. You're deffo not alone!! xx

I’m reading and hearing more and more that stress is a big part of our gut issues and that we do need to journal and meditate and do exercise in moderation, not over doing it. Walking, yoga, some weights and of course listen to our bodies and all the food stuff. Hope you feel better soon and can get it all worked out. 🧡

Thank you for your videos, they're always so helpful! My 9 year old was diagnosed coeliac when she was 6 and recently she's been having tummy troubles too. We kept a food diary and think we have worked out that its lactose causing the issue (chocolate though she seems ok with atm🤞). Hope you get some answers soon! P.s I love your recipe books!

Hope you find a solution to your tummy troubles! I've only been diagnosed as coeliac for about 6 months, never had any symptoms, don't really feel any different now I'm gluten free however I developed a constant discomfort in my stomach, felt heavy and blocked. It went on for weeks, had blood tests, ultrasound, CT scan, camera down my throat and they found nothing! After about 9 weeks of constant discomfort it's starting to fade but I've no idea why, I've gone back to eating what I like and it's not got worse so wonder if it's muscular, my posture isnt great!? Certain positions made it better or worse. I always try to eat sitting up really straight now rather than hunched on the sofa!

Thanks mdear! Yeah i think we are all guilty of blaming food for any gut symptoms we have when actually there is the potential that it could be something completely different or a mixture of factors! xxx

Thank you Becky. Such an interesting video. I'm having to go gluten, dairy & sugar free due to migraines, bloating & toilet issues. I've tried before but always lapsed so I'm seeing a nutritionist so I have someone to answer to now (doctors were completely useless). Interesting what you said about being scrunched up giving you stomach cramps. With me it's back & rib pain so I'm sitting up straight at the dining room table typing this. I'm getting more IBS flares regularly since getting covid a year ago ,not sure why but my long covid is also affecting my GERD. I keep a good diary and I'm adding more food to the avoid list weekly, one main culprit is beef !!. When I'm having a flare the best thing I find to eat is really salty crisps and white bread toast. I am lactose intolerant and I can't eat oats unless they are gluten free . X

Hi Becky. Do all the eggs actually say gluten free or are you basing it on whether it says wheat flour in the ingredients? Do you eat things that say may contain? This video was really helpful as I tend to always be cautious with eggs each year.

It's like going through a maze trying to find what will help. There's so much conflicting advise about what to eat or not eat. I appreciate these videos so we can share ideas. I recently heard about foods high in oxalates as being part of the puzzle for some people. It's not like you just eat low oxalate and see if you feel better. It can cause a toxic dump if not done slowly. Things like grains, spinach and almonds, are some of the high oxalate foods. Has anyone else heard about this? It seems to have merit but I'm still researching it. Also, I find eating later in the day allows me to have productive time to get things done. Actually, I'm just eating one meal a day, about 1:00 in the afternoon. Then I sit in a recliner a few hours after my meal. It's crazy but really helps. Not a cure but a hack for now.

Your videos, are just so helpful. It so nice to feel, you are not the only one going through these digestive issues. And having to cut out things like gluten, dairy, onions, garlic and just how much stress plays a role. Here in Western Australia, Covid numbers have soared and my daughter has just had a baby girl. She had to have an emergency C-section and the baby was put in a high care for a few days. Also because of Covid only her partner could visit. They are home now, but the stress has been so bad and my IBS reflects that. Thank you for being such a warm and friendly person. I feel like you’re a friend, who pops in for a visit, when you do these vlogs and share how you feel.💜🇦🇺
