This is STILL my favorite version! The remakes never matched its energy and voice acting!
While voice acting and the feel is subjective and I can understand that...I mean, Primal Fury still has WAY more characters, modes, unlocks, and stages.
There's one thing I miss from 3 and it's Shenlong's costume. In subsequent games I think they stuck with his PF look and I think it's pretty bland.

@@MattMcMuscles and sidestepping works....maybe a little too well but who cares! Cancels galore and all of the jump cancels! (actually, something I'll admit. When I was helping QA testing a certain "beast's fury" kickstarter game, the creator suggested doing a Bloody Roar type game and putting me as the game designer for it. Sure, I know the systems in and out buuuuuut, I was already losing interest in game design and switching towards other avenues. And well, beast's fury killed any last interest I have in fighting games then on. I still like some of the old ones like Bloody Roar but, eh.)
In regards to bringing bloody roar back though:
Since I still was raised with such a question of how to bring it back, I kept thinking about the balance of the game. How would one keep the game feel and all the things you could do in Primal Fury while making it acceptable for the FGC. It'd definitely be tough because those systems are fun and allow you to discover a lot of combos that are normally not possible in fighting games like this (such as unjumping (simply pressing down during a jump), which is like a tiger knee cancel (i.e. Ibuki jump cancel into a grounded special) but instead you just return to neutral allowing you to do ANYTHING after a launch attack (or any time you juggle an opponent that is airborne)) Even with mechanics like this though, the developers allow the opponent to air recovery at any point, any direction, dodge/parry, light block, and even air attack in 6 different ways. It's balanced in its own way even if it seems like its not. It's really the characters that need the balancing.
Blood Roar 4 is actually a good example bad character balance in regards to mechanics. They introduced a few new systems and limited some existing or new systems to specific characters unless you went through campaign mode and customized the characters how you wanted. This problem could have been solved by doing a groove system (and not being limited to the weird health to beast meter thing they did).
Konami's not putting out a new Bloody Roar unless it's a pachinko machine.
And mobile games.
We need a Bloody roar HD collection. Just like Super monkey ball banana mania.

Stuns character idea seems really interesting. A character who’s beast form sort of corrodes into their human form. I just.. wish the writing and story was better. These games do look like a ton of fun though, I’d love to try them out sometime. So hopefully if you get a movement for a new Bloody Roar game to be made, I’ll try to support it.
Also some STRONG Core Value vibes with that piledriver, lol
The story was pretty basic for 1,2 and Extreme( imo is a better sequel to 2 than 3 was in terms of the lore), but that was ok, the whole humans vs zoanthropes and the battle for coexistence was easy to follow. 3 and 4 just shit the bed with the whole tabula/XGC BS. Stun is pretty cool, since I love the vampiric beetle angle he has.
There is a hardcore #BringBackBloodyRoar movement that plays most of these games competitively, so im hopeful that we get a new game in the future.
A Bloody Roar collection would be hype as hell.. I'd buy it.

I remember playing Bloody Roar Primary Fury on the Gamecube that was such a fun game.
I hope that someday Bloody Roar gets a remake or a spiritual succesor, also Xion "looks" like a Mantis, Nagi (the one from BR 4) just gets a blade hand.

So here is my pie in the sky suggestion for a Bloody Roar reboot. Basically have studio Trigger come up with plot and animated the cutscenes. Maybe even thrown in Michiru and Shirou as guest fighters.
i miss this franchise so dang much. Like i REALLY wish they would make like an all out paws to the walls Bloody roar 5. Give us ALL characters, give use cool color swaps, fun gameplay and tons of goodies for long time fans....i would buy the highest edition they would offer.

I would love to see a Bloody Roar reboot. But I would agree with what you said about it. But like you said it's all up to Konami.
As for a dlc guest character I would pick Jin Kazama. Have his transformation be Devil Jin with abit more flair.
A reboot is unlikely but if Castlevania is any indication, Konami might be willing to put out a remastered collection and they are matching Capcom with their included art galleries, music players and even a bit of behind the scenes stuff here and there.
But who knows, Capcom pulled off a stunning redemption arc after their remaster saga, maybe Konami will follow suit? It'd be nice to have Konami be one of the best Eastern publishers again.
As someone who has never played a single game from this franchise, I'd support #FreeBloodyRoar

Xion isn't the only new character. You have Uranus the Chimera and Kohryu the Iron Mole.
As for your "ultimate collection" you have to include my girl Nagi from Bloody Roar 4. She was great...and I say that knowing her human form is a copy/steal of Kasumi from DOA and her beast form is a copy/steal of Witchblade...still love her.

I would really love to see a new Bloody Roar game one of these days. I don't know who owns the IP but I assume Konami does, so that worries me. it would be fine if they just make a collection of the original games with online multiplayer, HD visuals, etc.

Primal Fury Is by far the best of the entire series or Franchise or what have you. I cannot wait for a new one. There is always hope. Give me that and a Warzone/Fortnight Transformers game with Beast Wars and G1 bots and maps???? and all my dream games will have been answered........for the most part. I'm still dreaming for Rock Steady to make a TMNT game on the scale of the Arkham series.
There's still so much potential with Bloody Roar as a series; between the characters and mechanics, the franchise really was just kinda left out of the whole fighting game genre revival.

I never got to play Bloody Roar II. I went straight from the first Bloody Roar/Beastorizer to Bloody Roar 3. Gotta say, very hardcore, and a very easy learning curve for guys like me who started with the first game 💪🏽

I'd be in for some #FreeBloodyRoar. Such a great game and pretty unique by fighting game standards, just got the Gamecube version a little while ago myself. I feel like if you timed it right the game could get a lot of traction as a sort of cult classic.

I haven’t played Bloody Roar 3 in years but I don’t know if my friends still have that game because I used to play that at their house couple times
I remember I saw an article sometime last year in the spring where Konami released a single image of the Bloody Roar logo. I also, just searched it up because I was curious, but Konami did get a trademark for it in America. Some people think it might be a Pachinko (misspelled this?), but I would like to think that another Bloody Roar is in the works. If not that, then a remaster at least. A Wolf can dream.

Would love bloody roar to come back and then somehow also get the weirdo guests, D'vorah from MK, Bug/Octopus/Pick your Poison Yoshimitsu from Tekken, Riptor from KI. I'd love to see that sorta thing.
This was the only one I owned of the franchise, for obvious short franchise reasons, but I loved this like tekken back then, especially the hyper speed battle mode. I hope after my copy was stolen it provided hours of fun to someone else.

I don't pre-order games very much and I'm not even good at fighting games despite owning a lot of them because they are just so fascinating in terms of mechanics and aesthetics but I would pre-order a Bloody Roar collection in a heartbeat just to be able to ball with my bug boyfriend again. I always wanted a guyver game where you could design your own guyver and get David hayter in there just to nod to the movie as far as bloody roar its top of my list of games that need a return
I know this is off topic but I was just playing spider-man (2002) on ps2, and theres a special bowling level with all the developers faces on the wall. You have to get 10,000 points from the campaign but it's definitely worth checking out, just for bruce campbell's dialogue alone.

If they made a sequel to Bloody Roar they should swap Uriko's catgirl form to her weird boss monster form from Bloody Roar 1.
That's more or less what Uranus was: a way for them to put BR1 Uriko's moves and beast form on a new, but similar character.
I always thought BR2-onward Uriko was the dumbest character. (Never played any of the other games past 3)
Even Kohryu:
Old man Bakryu melts into a pile of green goo at the end of BR1.
They put that goo into the body of a weird alien thing that turns into a robot (makes sense)... still better than Uriko.

So since you're talking about older fighting games what's your take on Hybrid Heaven McMuscels? Its probably my favorite Fighter with all the RPG aspects. Its currently stuck on the N64 with a planned sequel in the vein of Prey 2, but way earlier

I think the guys who originally developed it had their building bought out and their employees going the way of konami, doing gacha and mobile game sort of stuff. I don't think they care about doing more for their old IPs, I loved the heck out of bloody roar though, despite it literally having no lore because what the hell is up with the plot in every game!
Primal Fury and Xtreme have no plot! I played them they gave up on bull stories!
I would have to say though Xtreme and Fury were probably a good effort for bringing back characters and costumes, they just didn't bring back everything. would love to see a Bloody Roar Ultimate sort of game now though
