I wasn't going to do this, but because some of the misinformation in the original video is getting repeated, this felt more necessary. This also includes new information I didn't have for my retrospective videos. - Ігри
Because I feel like someone will bring it up, Fang is buried in the code for Primal Fury, but he and his assets aren't accessible without modding.
I might be wrong here but IIRC wasn't Fang accessible as a playable character in the JP only version of Primal Fury in addition to the XBOX release of Extreme?
@@seandarko He is only playable in Extreme, the updated re-release on GameCube (JPN), and Xbox NA release. So you're right.
It's really weird and somewhat infuriating when one youtuber do videos like this, mispreding information and many people will base things only based on those videos

As smart and knowledgeable as SCx is he isn’t the authority over the game he’s a fan just like you. You have as much of a right to a voice as he does. I will never understand why people like you think that it’s a good thing now a days to have ecelebs talk for you. Take Rayman for example, You and I have just as good of a voice than that unfunny UK guy why give it to him? Stop electing ecelebs as your voice. It’s retarded and needs to stop. Just because someone has an audience and once spoke on DYKG doesn’t make them an authority over the series. Just because some unfunny ecelebs lets played the game doesn’t make them any more of a fan than you.
Stop doing this it’s pathetic to bow down to someone like this and willingly give up your own voice for some dude over the internet. Have some self respect, mate. You matter as much as mushmouth McMuscles.

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm a huge bloody roar fan. I remember when Yugos dad threw him off the mountain after the budokai tournament and then went on to find the soul calibur. Pretty simple stuff to remember if you were a true fan of the series
It's always tough to correct someone you respect and enjoy the content of. I really loved your retrospective and shared it with others extensively. Without the BR retrospective I may never have seen the rest of your videos which I also enjoy quite a bit. Good work on this video, I hope Matt gets to check out this and your original series. Thanks for shouting out the competitive scene, they are a dedicated group who deeply care for this series!

18:22 Matt referring to Fang as evil Yugo could be a comparison to Ryu-Evil Ryu from the Street Fighter series, where evil Ryu has a slightly different look and shares a few moves with Ryu. Anyways, great video. I remember your old retrospective videos and I'm glad this video popped up in my homepage.
Considering Konami's recent trend of rereleases, I'm hopeful that they'll do the same for Bloody Roar. Not holding my breath for it though...
The only entry that had a fighting tournament between Zoanthropes as part of the main plot was BR: Primal Fury/BR: Extreme.
Here's to hoping the games get re-released, since Konami was on a bit of a spree with Castlevania and their Contra titles recently.
Interesting video. I never played any of this series but I really appreciated the tone and professionalism of your presentation.
Bloody roar 3 is my jam. One of my favorite games of all time. A story I would like to share involves an ex friend of mine (we just drifted apart it's all good) where we would play each other constantly because we both loved the game. I am a huge long fan and he is a huge shenlong fan. We would have constant tiger fights. One time during character select without trying we had the names of the characters sync up perfectly to make the announcer say shlong. One of the best gaming moments of my life.

Checked the end of Matt's video and it did have sources...now whenever it they are sources the video editor used or Matt used I don't know but uh. 6 Trailers, Blazblue Cross tag Battle 2.0, World of Longplays (No mention of which videos, just World of Longplays), Guyver: Dark Hero 1994, a Simpsons episode, Eurogamer, Gamefaqs, and Siliconera...huh.

I played through the series recently after watching this vid wondering if maybe some of the plot details were just kinda hidden there and thats why Matt McMuscles got it wrong.
Nope, its all pretty much out there in the open in game or in the manual. I have no ideal how that was missed.

I liked Matt's Bloody Roar retrospective, but knowing the mistakes made and having them corrected is informative, although I think the mistakes with the story comes more from Matt not quite being able to wrap his head around it, as he has said before that the story is nonsensical. I personally think of retrospectives as one person looking back and giving their take, which is always going to come with flaws and mistakes, so I may be more forgiving than others about things than others are
Also, forgot to ask - you gotten anything else for The Shrine? I'd love an update video when '22 rolls around if ya have!

Hey @scxcr, I just tested my North American copy of Bloody Roar 3 with no memory card in, and the blood is enabled by default. Is it possible there are different North American versions of the disc where that setting is different?
That's possible. Mine always had it off by default, and there were multiple prints of the Japanese version.
@@scxcr Are there any known discrepancies between the multiple Japanese versions like artwork or balance changes or anything like that? I wonder what's rarer, default blood NA copy or your no blood NA copy. How do you even tell what print run the game is?
@@VerboseToast Side step no longer have inviciblity at second edition of Japanese version, but removed the Debug mode . The first version of Japanese allow you to using Debug mode, perform Second Opening movie after you exit Debug mode but Side Step is broken
