Are u using electric or gas stove? If electric, might have a slight problem controlling the even output of heat. If gas stove, try using a lower heat after the rice boils, it might be because of the pot material. Mine is cast iron, so the heat doesn’t transfer too quickly but instead, spreads evenly and slowly, so the pot might be a reason too

The Dried ones you mentioned is for Rice Dumplings 粽子。Not suitable.

我見我媽係用微波爐叮下啲栗子(1-2mins),啲皮乾的就好容易搣。不過可能粒栗子會抽乾咗水,質地會硬少少。
