Nice roundup on this subject. My 1st Cuban cigar was in 1980 a Montecristo No.2 (from Canada) and that was my start into collecting cigars in 1994. BTW, Macanudo when they made cigars in Jamaica (love the African Cameroon wrapper that was used), government unrest in late 80's-90's, Hurricane Gilbert in 1988 they moved (2000) to DR and was a sad day in Macanudo's history as for me they never were the same. For aging cigars, I have been doing this since 1994 with mostly Cubans with (2 boxes of 20+yrs) and when I do get Cubans, I put them away for 5yrs minimum in the box at 65deg/67-69% humidly. Every 4-5 months I check to make sure no mold is present so I would say it's a Love and an Art to the collecting and Aging of cigars. With many dozens of boxes, it's a treat to experience with friends the reward of Aged Cuban cigars.
Good question - I looked into that and there is very little information on nicotine levels after aging. My theory (for what it's worth) is that nicotine level remains pretty much the same over the years, although the cigar will likely not taste as strong.
@@cigarscigarscigars Thanks for the info. I'm ageing some Romeo by RyJ sticks that have hit me pretty hard, nicotine wise. It'll be interesting to see if and how that changes after a year. We shall see... 😊
