So let me understand tbis correctly. The fivefold gifts of ministry which Paul described was to become only three. The Cessationist's arguement is based upon the verse, 'When that which is perfect comes', meaning the canon. When the context was Jesus and his coming. For the gifts were described as being in place until that which is perfect has come. So if the perfect has come in this sense (supposedly the canon), why do the other three, evangelist, teacher and shepherd, remain? WHY DO THREE REMAIN WHEN, SUPPOSEDLY, THAT WHICH IS PERFECT HAS ALREADY COME?

Keep reading the book of Acts people. Stop listening to people and just read it. Paul was given a prophetic word of being bound when a belt was put around his hands, Philip did miracles, just read the book of Acts. Some believe God is not the same yesterday, today and forevermore as if they did they would believe He is still using people to preform supernatural feats to confirm who He is today.

Do you think the book of Acts is a prescriptive or descriptive text for us as Christians should be implemented today? Do we see Paul, Peter, John etc referring to verses from the book of Acts as prescriptive for the Church today?

@@Psalm13924 that kind of mentality can almost be applied to every book of the New Testament can it not? “That letter was for the church of Corinth, not us… etc etc “ do you believe it can be both?
