Thank you so much for this! I loved learning how to eliminate pages I don't wish, for example, if I wish to perform just one movement of a large suite.
Thank you very kindly! - A HUGE help for me!
You're very welcome! Such a wonderful app with lots of fantastic features and delighted that you found this useful.
I remember how mind-blow I was when I discovered I could create, copy and manipulate pdfs in the app 🤯
Happy music making Cherwyn! 🏆
@@musopw Thanks, Paul, and the same to you! 🙂
Well done. I have been watching UA-cam videos and slogging through the forScore manual, which I found distressingly unhelpful. This video is one of the clearer and more focused videos I have found. You mentioned other forScore videos, but I don't see them available as yet. Pity, if they were all as well thought-out as this one, I believe I would be able to really use this program in an evening or two. In any case, you have found a calling. Companies do a miserable job of writing clear, well-organized training manuals these days, which sabotages the success of their products. More, please!
Thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm really pleased you found the video helpful. I've used forScore for years and know many musicians who do too, but often surprised that most don't know some of the seriously useful features it has to offer. I started to create these videos to demo some of the really useful functions. I'm in the process of putting more together so if you have any particular requests, do let me know!
Excellent video. Looking forward to more in the future.
Hey Jack, thanks for the feedback! Do you have any specific requests? I'm just in the process of making more!
@@musopw Your videos are straight-to-the-point and so easy to understand. If you have the time, I would love it if you did a video covering Layers. I understand the general idea, but have trouble wrapping my brain around how I could use this feature. I'm a jazz pianist/piano teacher continuing my classical piano studies.
Good video. Is forScore available for PC?
At 2:40, I don't have the three menu options at the bottom of my page. Are you using the basic version or Forscore Pro?
Thank you for the detailed explanation. I have a question. Once I created a set list and I go to play live, I can tap to move the pages to the end of the song, but it stops at the last page of the song. Why can’t it go to the next song by tapping instead of me having to go back to the set list and choose the next song?
Same!
I was excited to try inserting a placeholder into a set list, but found I do not have those three functions at the bottom of the set list editor. Are these a pro feature?
Is it possible to name specific pieces within 1 pdf file e.g. a pop collection songbook. I would love to be able to search a specific song and it search within that pdf? Thanks
After painstakingly entering the lengths of all the titles, I would be interested in how I can display the length of a set list. As an example, a set can be 50 minutes long, which titles make the most sense.
thanks very much. Very helpful! Is there a way to save a placeholder from a setlist into All Scores for future use (say, a placeholder that doesn't have a percussion part, that is likely to be in another future show)? thanks for your help!
Hey Joe, apologies it's taken me so long to reply. You can easily create a file as a kind of placeholder by create a file from the template menu. You can do this by heading the "briefcase" icon (top right of the screen and choosing "Templates". You can simply select a blank page (or any other template you wish) and click "Save" (top right of pop-up) where you'll be prompted for a filename. Once you save the file, it will load. You can then go ahead and add this to your set list as your placeholder. Rather than deleting this file when you're ready to add a score, you can use the "Rearrange" function to bring in your new score. Hope this helps. I can do a video on this if it's helpful? Best wishes
does this platform tell you how long each file is
Hey! forScore isn't able to calculate duration from the PDF. However, I usually have a simple spreadsheet set up to calculate length based on tempo & number of measures. It's a rough idea but useful until I get to run it for real! Hope this helps!
