Why do you put the Plastic Bag with the paper inside the paperwastebin. In germany keep the plastic bag and just put the paper inside. Also you can reuse the plastic bag, because the paper is not so dirty
Cider is not the same as "Apfelschorle". In Germany you will find Cider as Cidre (french) or as "Apfelschaumwein" / "Apfelsekt" / "Apfelperlwein". You're right with the assumption Apfelschorle just being Applejuice with carbonated water. Keep up with the good content!
Also it's illegal to sell something in germany what it ain't suppose to be ! (declaration law) So here it must be sold as apple juice because cider what is in german Apfelwein suppose to be a wine type liquid (alcohol ) what also have different taxes .
A lot of Tortilla packages in Germany have kinda glue strips on them to reseal them (they're barely visible though so gotta look closely) OR you could buy "wiederverschließbare Gefrierbeutel" which have the ziploc thing. 🤗
Don’t put plastic bags in the blue or the brown/green trash like ever! You can use a big paper bag (like the ones from Zara or whatever) for your paper trash to take it outside (and you can reuse that one). For the brown/ green trash people often have a lil bucket standing in their kitchen.
1. Don't put plastic bags around it when you put it into paper/ Biomüll 2. You can put paper instead of the plastic around the Biomüll (so a little bit paper in the Biomüll is ok.) 4. Papier is only paper + cardboard 3. Restmüll = remaining trash. That means everything else except paper + biological trash comes into this one (plastic, glass, etc.) -> only when you don't have something like gelber Sack or other bins ( in my city e.g. we have like 10 different bins (electronic, glass, metal, batteries,...) but also the highest recycling rate in Europe) Paper=Blue Biological=Green/Brown Restmüll=Black
Regarding 1: The ones they used in the video were "kompostierbare Plastiktüten" made from corn starch. These are also NOT allowed in Marburg according to their website (www.marburg.de/buergerservice/dienstleistungen/abfall-bioabfall-entsorgen-900000223-0.html?myMedium=1). Because the website is not available in English, they couldn't really have known that... In case Conner reads this, here's a (summerized) translation: "Belongs in the green "Biotonne": - waste from vegetables and fruit - tea and coffee - food remains - parts of plants Does not belong in the green "Biotonne": - plastic (belongs in yellow) - stones (b. i. black) - cans and metals (b. i. yellow) - diapers (b. i. black) - leather (b. i. black) - the things in vacuum cleaners (b. i. black) - ash (b. i. black) - cigarettes (b. i. black) Don't use plastic bags, because they are made from plastic. "Compostable plastic bags" made from corn starch are also not to be used, because our facilities can't compost them. Use: - paper bags, - paper from newspapers (just the "raw" paper kind, not the magazine type stuff), - plastic bags, only when you empty the bags into the Biotonne (green) and throw the bags into the Restmülltonne (black)." [I added the colors to make it easier and skipped everything that isn't relevant.]
Conner Sullivan everything with "grüne Punkt" and plastic = yellow trash. Glas = Glas container's, paper = paper container, Food leftovers =Biotonne everything else into the grey or dark restmüll container
We do have zip lock bags. They’re usually in the same shelf where the „Gefrierbeutel“ (= freezer bag) are. They’re a bit more expensive than the ones without zip lock though. You can also get slightly cheaper ones at IKEA, but I don’t know how far IKEA is away from you guys, but you can definitely get it in Edeka as well 😊
You try to separate the trash, good job! But next time please remove the plastic bag from the paper waste before throwing it in the garbage can. Otherwise it's all in vain ;-)
Yes, we usually have zip bags ("Zipper Beutel") at glocery stores. "Toppits" is the most favorite brand. They are usually near the baking paper ("Backpapier"), aluminium foil ("Alufolie") and plastic wrap ("Frischhaltefolie")
If you want Cider, just look for Apfelwein, but the common ones are without bubbles. Yes we have Zip Locks, and yes they are called the same, but since they are expensive compared to non closing ones we use "Gefrierbeutel" and a clip.
Do you know about the German deposit system? You wasted 0,25€ with the coke bottle 😉 We have Apfelwein in Hessen. So go and try it. It contains Alcohol. You put a plastic bag in the paper trash.. that’s not how it works 😄
if you want the tortillas to stay fresh you can buy plastic clips at the grocery store that you can seal the original packaging with so it´s the same principle as the ziplock bag but you can reuse them for everything for example muesli and it stays crunchy longer
For the tortillas: Just use tape. Or a clothespin. Or paper clips. All more environment friendly than ziplock bags (because you sure will toss them out after you had some grocery in it, right?!) Usually you don't leave the tortillas for weeks, so a bit of air will do no harm, when you put them in the fridge combined with one of the methods above. :)
Yellow is for plastic like: Bottles, folie(?), plastic bags, wrappings, yoghurt cans, etc PLUS aluminium cans, package, milk cartons, etc. Brown is for for everything to compost: Vegetables, used coffee pulver, egg shells, garden things like grass etc. Green is mostly for clean paper. Black one for dirty papers, Pampers, the stuff you clean up from the floor or from the dust sukkker 😉 also broken glass or plates goes in here. I hope this will helps you guys.
Regarding 4:18... When you get a "äbblwoi" (Frankfurt term) "cidre" (french term) "Seider" (Franconian term, pronounced like in English) or numerous other terms used in Germany it is understood that it contains alcohol, i.e. "hard cider".
You and Silas gotta make a video on all the inside jokes and one liners for all the new subscribers and viewers! The was ist los in the bundespost came from last year when Silas was playing in Frankfurt and he got it from one his teammates! It's explained in a vlog from sometime last year.
Of course we have ziplocs. Mostly available in 1l (l=litres) or 3l size. Try to get "Toppits Zipper Vorratspack" - widely available in retail shops like Edeka, REWE, Kaufland...
Blue is cardboard and paper and you don't put a plastic bag into it. Green or brown is organic and you put only organic waste in it. Or something that can be degraded in organic waste. For example these fillings for packages that are sometimes made from foamed rice. They dissolve in water and you can put it in the organic bin. Yellow bag or yellow bin is in general for plastic. But depending on the community where you are living there are also other things that can do there like: tin cans, composite packages like the Tetra Pak for milk, juice etc. You must ask a local how the rules are. Some communities have containers for metal waste, like they have for glas. Glas without Pfand belongs to the glas containers. Batteries goes back to the shop. Every shop where they are sold must take it back. The same for old energy saving lamps or small elektronic devices. The last one is quite new and some shops will not know and refuse it but they have to take it back. www.marburg.de/portal/seiten/abfall-a-z-900000964-23001.html You find all information about waste in Marburg there and some pdf with pictograms that help you to seperate the waste. (Right bottom, there are downloads)
We have Tupperware in Germany. It’s plastic cans and there we put everything to keep it fresh but we also have zip locks. Tupperware is just better for the environment because you can use them for years. And yeah apple juice with water is apfelsaftschorle. You live in Hessen where they have apple cider called Apfelwein oder äppler.
Apfelschorle is apple juice with sparkling water and instead of apple cider most germans drink "Most" which is a kind of a apple cider. I think it is pretty much the same. btw on a hot summer day there is nothing better than a glass of cold "Most"
Recycling is actually pretty easy. Every packaging that has this symbol on it goes into the big container Anja showed you. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Dot_(symbol) That's most of your waste beside paper, which goes into the blue bins. The brown bins are purely for biological waste and the tiny black one is only for the stuff that doesn't fit in any of the other categories.
Yes, we do have ziplock bags in Germany. But we also have something called aromaclips those can be used to seal every kind of back you want and they are reusable ...
At least semi-solving the tortilla problem: Wrap them in foil first and then slide the completely wrapped up tortillas back in the original packaging. Everything is nicely sealed... Makes at least more sense than wrapping the plastic packaging from the outside
cider in germany is called 'apfelschaumwein' (or nowadays just 'cider' as well) - which resembles sparkling wine, made of grapes. cider solely describes fermented apple juice - and therefore is spirituous. 'apfelschorle' is just apple juice mixed with sparkling water. but it is an excellent choice for athletes - as it is highly isotonic. but watch out for the amount of fructose, if you keep track of your diet. sometimes you will find combinations of apfelschorle with pear or elderberry juice - you name it. there are also cheap varieties, containing so called concentrated juice. just have a closer look at the mouseprints on the bottle. in every case, there should be no added sugar.

I really enjoy watching your videos. You and Silas have such a positive vibe. Definitely I will buy a shirt. Boom Baby Lets gooo! Greetings from Saxony.
Yes we got those zip bags, go to DM for example, ask for "topic (something like that) zip bags" they know. But I think you can get them in some supermarkets too.
Apfelwein or Äppelwoi (as you call it in Hessen) is like cider. Especially in the area around Frankfurt it is really popular and in my opinion there is nothing more refreshing than an ice cold äppelwoi on a hot summer day 😁
Apfelschorle is water and Apple Juice. And we have bigger plastic bags . And please! But paper in the rubbish without plastic bags. And you get plastic bags whit sipper in the supermarket.
Apple cider and Apfelschorle are total different things. Apfelschorle is Apple juice mixed with soda water, apple cider is what we would call "Apfelwein"

There is ziplock bags in Germany, too. But seldom used. There is other bags without ziplock that are cheaper and all kind of reuseable freshkeeping boxes like Tupperware or cheaper brands. Or use "Tupperware for the poor" - icecream boxes and other boxes you ate empty and cleaned...
Plastic >> ,,gelber Sack" (yellow) Food (organic) >> ,,Restmüll" (black) or Bio Paper >> ,,Papiermüll" (Blue) Bottles >> ,,Flaschencontainer" Green Bottle (green) Brown Bottle (brown) Hope it helped you ^^
WE'VE GOT VIEZ!!!, you really must try it its better than the french aquivalent "cidre". Viez is from Rheinland-Pfalz and pretty good, you can even mix it with Sprite if you don't really like the flavour that much. But in bars, for example in Trier, Viez is the cheapest alcoholic beverage because its local.
"Ach wenn in unsrer engen Zelle // Die Lampe freundlich wieder brennt, // Dann wird's in unserm Busen helle, // Im Herzen, das sich selber kennt. // Vernunft fängt wieder an zu sprechen // Und Hoffnung wieder an zu blühn; // Man sehnt sich nach des Lebens Bächen, // Ach! nach des Lebens Quelle hin." if you understand this on time, your german is perfect

I agree - your feet need medical help. When it gets so bad that other guys run away it is veeeeery bad. Go and see a dermatologist, your medical insurance will cover it. It might be athlete's foot (har-di-har) which is not always itchy, esp. when you got it for a long time.
Conner try Hydro Fugal Spray in the morning on your feed before you get your socks on, they should not smell the whole day. You can get it in DrugStore like DM or Rossmann or i a big Supermarket
If u wanna try "German cider" u'll have to to the south of Hessen. We have a Tradition of drinking äppler/Apfelwein (applewine) here. As far as i know u can't get it in the rest of Germany or at least its rare.
Just some advice: use baking paper to provide the smell of burned food. And your oven will also not smell like fish for 2 weeks! XD Your videos are the best!
Hey I just saw your Video about the medival market and I just wanted to tell you theres a big medival Festival in August 24. at the Bachritterburg in Kanzach. You have to check it out!
It would be better when you remove the plastic bag before putting the paper in the bin
!!! Thank you :D
And also before putting the bio stuff in the brown one. Plastik always in the yellow one afterwards.
Sandra Wefels Das war ne kompostierbare Plastiktüte
buy some ''backpapier'' in edeka then you dont have to clean the baking sheet

If you cook sth in the oven you use "backpapier" underneath it...just saying :D
HYDROPHIL PLAYS wanted to say the same
You also can use "backpapier" to put it between tortillas, bevor you put them in the freezer. Thats the way, how I keep tortillas fresh.
A lot of Tortilla packages in Germany have kinda glue strips on them to reseal them (they're barely visible though so gotta look closely) OR you could buy "wiederverschließbare Gefrierbeutel" which have the ziploc thing. 🤗
tschaimeee I always do it like they did 😂
here in spain is the same, the bags have some sort of glue sealing, being the strip or the whole top section of the bag
I like this format of videos Conner 👀 flows so smoothly
Thanks man, was trying out some new style
we also have zip lock bags to buy in every Supermarket, Edeka es well.
Don’t put plastic bags in the blue or the brown/green trash like ever! You can use a big paper bag (like the ones from Zara or whatever) for your paper trash to take it outside (and you can reuse that one). For the brown/ green trash people often have a lil bucket standing in their kitchen.

TheCooPeer they actually don't do lol

Bruno B or green one for paper :D (like in my hometown)
I've never seen that lol
Yes, we usually have zip bags ("Zipper Beutel") at glocery stores. "Toppits" is the most favorite brand. They are usually near the baking paper ("Backpapier"), aluminium foil ("Alufolie") and plastic wrap ("Frischhaltefolie")
You should not put the plastic bag in which you got the paper into the paper trash.
Nice to meet you is more likely “schön dich kennenzulernen“
7:10 We put our food in Tupperware to keep it fresh but we also have those bags in Germany

Apfelschorle: sparkling water mixed with apple juice
"Appelcider": alcoholic drink, which is called "Apfelwein" or similar like that in Germany :)
In order to remember the garbage seperation, in Germany we say:
Yellow for plastic,
paper in blue,
Trash is stinking,
your feet do too.

Apple Cider is Apfelwein. In a pub you can get it with soda or sparkling water.
HOW CUTE was johnny! i love him
Of course we have ziplocs. Mostly available in 1l (l=litres) or 3l size. Try to get "Toppits Zipper Vorratspack" - widely available in retail shops like Edeka, REWE, Kaufland...
04:11 there is one...we call it Cidre in the south-west...lol...another one would be Ebbelwoi/Äppler...but it tastes like old moldy apples (Äppler)
The "big" ziploc bags perfectly fit a tortilla package. That's what we use as well. Especially the ones from IKEA 6L.
Nice to meet you literally translated is "Schön, Dich zu treffen", but nobody says that. We say "Schön, Dich kennen zu lernen"

Come to the "Hessentag" in Korbach it's only a hour away from Marburg. Mai 15th - June 3rd
zip lock bags are mostly in the same section where u can buy the bags for waste
Why the hell he is not using “Backpapier”?
Yes, we do have ziplock bags in Germany. But we also have something called aromaclips those can be used to seal every kind of back you want and they are reusable ...
At least semi-solving the tortilla problem: Wrap them in foil first and then slide the completely wrapped up tortillas back in the original packaging. Everything is nicely sealed... Makes at least more sense than wrapping the plastic packaging from the outside
We have Ziploc, but we use it more than once. Or better: use “Tupper“
We got these bags with zippers, but you wont find them everywhere like this. Look for "Gefrierbeutel" in the supermarkets :)
You could put the tortillas in their plastic packaging in your bread box thing with the slide door
Actually Apfelschorle is Apple juice mixed with sparkling water :D
cider in germany is called 'apfelschaumwein' (or nowadays just 'cider' as well) - which resembles sparkling wine, made of grapes. cider solely describes fermented apple juice - and therefore is spirituous.
You are the best youtuber man. I am always looking forward to see some new content from you. Keep doing your great work and stay wo you are. Have fun here in Germany.
We have zip-lock bags, ask for zip-lock "Beutel" ;) I recommend the ones from "Toppits".
German alternatives to apple cider: Apfelmost or Federweisser
they live in hesse. so they have to try the real stöffsche ebbelwoi!
Put "Backpapier" in the furnace on the cookie sheet and then the food on it so the cookie sheet don t gonna be dirty
There a bags with a zip to buy in some supermarkets. Just Check it out.

you should definitely check out the City "Coburg" in Franken. Most beautiful town in Germany in my opinion when it comes to castles and old houses :)
Love your videos!

Apfelwein is a good alternative for cider. But its a little bit different

if you understand this on time, your german is perfect
You can find these bags to keep tortillas fresh. Just go in Edeka or a drugstore like dm, they are called “gefrierbeutel”
At Rewe you can get tortillas with the ziploc type bags
It's so fun to watch if you're german
And for bread we usullay keep the bread in the paper you get when you buy it, and we have these zip locker bags, should be in every supermarket ;)
When you know, how to speak the Spanish J, so you get the harder German Ch, and then try to shift the Spanish J into Shm so you get the softer German Ch.
