    I just thought about it, this year is 2018 which means its world cup year. Germany goes crazy at that time. You have to go to "public viewing" ( i know they mean something different in english :D ) and vlog your experience at the games. In Berlin there are up to 1 milion people watching the world cup games at the brandenburg gate. But you will find public viewings everywhere.

    Hey Connor,
    the best way to do it is to use a paper bag in the first place for the paper rubbish. This prevents the plastic from the normal trash bag to get into the paper recycling. And by the way, yellow is for plastic and wrappings, blue is for all paper and cardboard and black is for general waste like food, compost or aluminum foil and stuff like that.
    Great video, keep it up. Greetings from Berlin!

    The Oberstadt in Marburg is the entier old town up the hill. The town square is called "Marktplatz" or just" Markt". The Church you saw near the Castle is not the Elisabeth Kirche. It is called Lutherische Pfarrkirche St. Marien and is kind of famouse for the crooked tower. Elisabeth Kirche is way bigger and a bit more Downtown. If you want an advice for parking in oberstadt: There is a small parkinspace at "Barfüßer Tor 2" you came past it when you drove up to Oberstadt. Its directly at the entrance of the Oberstadt and you can see a Red-white barrier at the right. dont pass through it, go right of it and there you can find a small parkindeck.

      Harald Landwehr Just because "Burg" and "Schloss" both translate as "castle" into English. 😉 He's just translating "Marburger Schloss" into English. It's not "die Marburg-Burg" - what would be the wrong German name for it, which really would be "Mar Castle" - castle. 😜

      Actually they‘re not from Marburg. They’re from Hanau. They studied at the university of Marburg and therefore stayed in Marburg for quite some time. But they reportedly didn’t like Marburg very much. One of the brothers is supposed to have said that Marburg has more stairs than houses.
      Buut yeah that aside the brothers did spend a lot of time in Marburg so it’s still remarkable.

    • @abalada
      @abalada 6 років тому +2

      Hausen / -hausen has the same root like the word Haus (house). These are typical names for settlements founded by the Franconians in the 7th/8th century. Sure most of them are still only small villages. But some of these settlements became also big cities like Oberhausen or Recklinghausen.

    • @jochendamm
      @jochendamm 6 років тому

      There are many examples more. There is at least Düsseldorf, which suits village or ville. Also suffixes like -um and -heim meaning home, places with suffix -scheid(t) are named after forest clearance. I'd like to translate -hausen with ville because there isn't any better matching phrase.

    Guys, pay attention to the top end of the windows of the old buildings. Are they sharp, then it's gothic (700-1000 Years old), are the windows at the top round, then it's Romans (1000 -2000 old)!
    Die Fachwerkhäuser sind 200-400 Jahre alt. The fachwerkhouses are 200-400 years old.
    Jungs, achtet bei den alten Gebäuden auf das obere ende der Fenster. Ist das spitzt dann ist das gothisch ( 700-1000 Years old), ist das rund dann ist das römisch (1000-2000years old)!

You feel fresher before 6am because its a different rhythm there. Living with the suns rhythm and nature rhythm is best in my eyes :)

    Hallo, Conner. I saw some of your videos. As you are in Marburg I recommand to make a ship tour on the Rhine from Koblenz to Bingen or the other direction. It's about 150 km away from Marburg in south-west direction. You will see the old villages around and especially many old castles and the Loreley-Felsen . This route belongs to the Weltkulturerbe. May be you can also stop there someplace and visit a castle or an old village. There are quite small, but nice. I think you will like it. But it should be nice sunny weather for that. If you like the city-life you can also make a trip to Köln ( Cologne) There is the big cathedral ( Kölner Dom) the Hohenzollernbrücke over the Rhine, the old city, museums, the botanic garden and many other things to discover. A very interesting city with over one million inhabitants ( the fourth biggest City of Germany). But its a ittle bit further away ( 200 km ) Almost the same distance have a third, fourth and fifth place close to each other on one way in south direction . These are the cities Mannheim, Heidelberg and the Schwätzinger Schloss close to Heidelberg. Heidelberg is very old. It has a lot to discover too, especially the old castle and the Schwätzinger Schloss are pretty. Mannheim is also a nice city. Popular is the Wasserturm and you can spent some time in the Luisenpark. I hope I could help you a little bit, as I heard you want to discover our country and you asked for help to find interesting spots here. Please write back and tell me if you plan to go somewhere what I recommanded and how you liked it. Have a nice time here.

    My beautiful hometown. :3 I love this place.
    It's so interesting seeing people being impressed by things I see every day. Like the castle. But Marburg really has lot's of beautiful buildings.
    But it's sad that I kind of got used to it and don't really appreciate it anymore. If that makes any sense to you. :D
    Greetings from Marburg. :)

    Yo Conner,
    I started watching your videos when you visited all the football games here in Germany last year and I just now noticed that you‘re back here again
    So I saw the thumbnail of this video and I directly noticed that youre in my hometown bro
    I lived there until I was 5 years old and sadly did not visit it very often since then
    It‘s really nice for me to see someone from outside Germany and especially the US getting so stoked exploring „my“ city
    I now live in Trier which is the oldest city of Germany and also very beautiful
    If you want to pay a visit let me know bro

    Hey Conner,
    I really enjoy your videos, but I don´t really know why. Maybe because you guys are always so amazed by things, which are quite ordinary for me. And because of your editing skills ;)
    I have a random question for you. Do you know where your ancestors came from? Does your family have a book about your family tree or something like that?
    Greetings and sorry for my moderate english ;)

    Plastic dumb is coming into the yellow bag. You get those yellow bags at the "Wertstoffhof" for example. Or at lokal stores. Just search for "Gelber Sack"
