- Finally Well: • I'M FINALLY WELL!!!
Call of Duty Warzone cheat providers and hackers are getting sued for just over $1 Billion dollars today by Activision Publishing. ATVI is throwning down the gauntlet against companies that provide Warzone hacks. The company is in Germany and the defendents are hiding behind alias but won't stop a massive corporation from railroading thier lives.

Someone should sue Activision for SBMM
I agree. It psychologically damages you.
Bc of hackers not the game hacker are making the game trash
Very good news. While I think Activision is a scummy company, the ones that are worse than scum are those people ruining games.
no, obito said those who abandon their friends are worse than scum
@@laurentiudll yep I stole it from toby
No they are ruining cod
No actually activision isnt only scummy, also really dumb
@@saviourr69 Why? Are you a cheater?
Pros: Activation finally does something about cheaters.
Cons: They took too long and lots of CoD players moved to other games.
Firstly cod number 1 game, secondly lawsuit needs proof
@@elg7365 you think activision won’t hire the best lawyers? They just want to ruin their business.
@@elg7365 You dont sue someone for a billion dollars if you dont have anything to back it up with
Whatever man ea/dice did nothing g yet i still play firestorm no idea whyt but I enjoy it
@@elg7365 So people that got banned and now that Activision deployed ricochet they know if you are using cheats.
I have a feeling Activision is not doing this because they care. It's more like they're doing it because they're being hit where their money is, and so the whole thing is just about money. If they really care, they wouldn't have taken so long to do this, and the extent of that care would go beyond just cheat makers, as in putting more effort into the COD series rather than monetize everything in a mediocre game.
Exactly my opinion too. This might be closer to the truth than we think..
Well, yeah. No multibillion company "cares" about you. They care about your business. Don't stan companies.
They probably saw the player count go down and figured it would hit their pockets so they finally did something. Haven’t placed warzone since Cold War was released and the insane influx of cheaters
Too late to save Warzone now.
It’s about damn time.
@smxisrainpYT Way too much lmao
Didn’t expect you to be here
$1bn lawsuit is much better than any anticheat they could develop😂
Hiding behind the "law" when this should be perfectly LEGAL as a company.. just hardware ban the users... Who are actually using them
@@geesegoose6174 hardware bans do nothing as their is such a thing as spoofing. cheaters who get hardware or ip bans can be back on the game using the same cheats within minutes. Also it shouldnt be legal because people making cheats are breaking Activision's terms of service.
Keyword "Most popular anticheat provider" Idk how you people overstep this. There are millions of cheats out there.
It’s great news to hear that Activision is finally doing something to fight the cheat makers, I can’t help but think it’s due to Vanguard doing so badly in sales. They need to satisfy the shareholders with vast profits, so if they can’t make money from the game why not take on the cheat makers and see if they can make some money that way. I like many other people stopped playing Warzone when they made it free and the cheating scum moved in to the game in their masses. Cheating has always been a problem in COD, but in the past few years it’s become an epidemic.
Wasn't warzone always free tho?
Vanguard is on activision for doing so bad that game is full of bugs
@@EuphoriaActual Yes it's always been free, I don't know why they said that it wasn't.
Warzone has always been free???
@@IAreBean yep, since it launched in one of the MW seasons.
Not only do the cheats stop people playing the game, the resources in developing tools and banning cheaters is a big drain as well.
Good on them, hope they smash them.
About time but they need to be careful some times it can backfire so for once good job Activision
How could it back fire? Not challenging you I am just curious
@@guthrielindquist1 very unlikely but imagine if activison lose this. Would set precedent that it’s okay.
@@guthrielindquist1 how they handle the thing i know it will win but rare cases they lose when somthing like this is not a normal law suit but in the end i am sure it will be they shut down. But some rare casses are places like russia and china where hey would never let a law suit from USA effect them if its a chinesse anti cheat but since activision has powerful contacts in China since the game COD was partly made there.
Activision needs to make the money back that they are losing in legal fees for the entire state of California law suit against them
@@TheCriticalMastermind true iv been lucky but I think its a mix of multi-platform issues / game issues / Slacking off and they fired the QA team raven did and / Security features. I love when you put content out like this. You're a good commentator/critic of the industry and would love to see more for sure. Cheers!
Bungie did this for a number of cheat providers from Destiny 2 a few months ago. Im glad this is becoming a trend
It did absolutely nothing in the long term. The game is still full of cheaters. Just last night, my friends and I ran into several in a short space of time.
That off with their head motion had me dead 🤣
“A German corporation”
Ah… well thats a wrap
Good luck EVER suing ANYONE from Germany from abroad.
I have some “experience” in that
try China...
@@coolbreeze4117 Try North Korea
yeah, good luck on that. even IF you get a german court to understand the entire situation and can explain to them how cheating correlates with losing money, the ruling will be something along the lines of "stop what you are doing and pay blizzard 50000$ because we dont think 1billion is justified and 50k is the best we can do". then the cheat company will just pay what they have - which is probably 1€ given they are an UG which is the german equivalent of the british Ltd. that requires literally 1€ to start - and start over again under a different alias. the main trick will be to sue the parent company or get a private person liable.. which is extremely difficult so.. yeah. good luck.
@@coolbreeze4117 as Drift0r explained since they are partnered with Tencent, Chinese cheaters probably have a lot more to fear than cheaters in russia for example
@@Emoralis I want there fake fruit they keep in the markets to show off to visiting westerners.
Honestly I think both the cheater and cheat provider should be punished, or at the very least both should be "formally" illegal. By cheating you are:
- breaching your terms of service with the game
- contributing to revenue loss for the business
- ruining the experience of others who payed for the game
- funding shady organisations
The comparison with drugs is a little different due to the addiction issues etc. so there is more of an argument with those in focusing only on the distribution, although that is kinda moot anyway as both consumption and distribution are already illegal in most parts of the world.
That would take way too long of a process nip the problem at the source, everything else will fall in line. Kill off cheats most of these people will be gone considering your taking the only thing they really live for tbh.
Not all cheaters should be punished. Some people using cronus max to help when they have nerve damage or other severe injuries that prevent them from being able to play. Some people use "cheats" as an aid to be able to play the game. But outside of people needing the aid to even be able to play the game, then yeah they should be punished. It's the same as drugs though, some need drugs for health reasons, while others just use drugs because they can.
Lmao i dont support cheating at all but because someone is messing with my digital toys is not enough for me to criminalize them
Was listening and focusing unto you hit the ground at 8:25 and started to ball out laughing
5:24 Drift0r talking about Eight Thoughts without talking about Eight Thoughts
I haven’t played warzone in over a year because of hackers. And even in multiplayer I turn cross play off. Cheaters and hackers have gotten out of control.
If you remember the days of gameshark, THAT was ok. Because you were only affecting your own solo player experience. When you affect another players experience, that’s when the line should be drawn.
Activision has zero foresight. If it isn't affecting their bank account this second, they don't care.
They could've made a lot more money years ago if they had the brains to realize that more people would be invested in COD if there weren't hackers.
can they take bo2 hackers into this suit too?
@@Leisurous unfortunately not in their financial interest. They want all of the playerbase playing the newest game to be able to break records every year for investors.
I mean they are a public traded company, with a board. Aka it’s always about money when a company hits that stage.
@@dcrz obviously, but it's the fact that they don't pay attention to long term financial strategy is what's stupid
@@bicboi1930 boards live for yearly profits unfortunately and some don’t care to have foresight because they are invested in multiple companies and just move to other ventures if one burns and fails. This is how so many corps when under in the last 10 years
I love that drift0r actually does research before anything really it's why we love him literally
Thanks for this. I appreciate you work here.
Hey drift, when can we expect that Eight Thoughts docu-series you were talking about? I've been ready for the 9 or so months since you spoke about it
Oh yeah, I forgot about that
Activision only did this, imo, because so many people have quit playing Warzone causing them to lose revenue so this is a last ditch effort to save its player base
Activision has lost so much revenue due to the (rightful) media shitstorm they got in. Their agenda goes beyond Warzone's playerbase - they are just getting to feel heat below their feet.
Wouldn't you do that? lol
Water is good for you, imo.
The sky is blue, imo.
Well f'in obviously lol, why else would they do it?
Imo, Activision makes videogames so that they can make moneyz
Good work on this vid. Driftor keep up the hard work
Looks like they need to recover some money after the Lawsuits that Activision-Blizzard got, except what they were doing is far worse than hacking a video game
What has Activision done if you don't mind me asking? I just don't know the full story behind it.
Good job driftor always a fan of your content
Great to see they are doing something. Also I was wondering what your controller set up is for Vanguard? Is it the same as Cold War?
watching channel for a long time mate and you look really good right now healthwise. keep at it!
Everyone excited should know it takes years for lawsuits like this to come to a conclusion
More about the action. That is being put forth.
Love this content from Drift0r
Awesome video dude 👏
That ending screen is 😍
Always nice seeing you posted
Imagine a system where instead of just a full ban, your account gets suspended if it has been proven that you cheated(through collected, submitted, and peer-reviewed data over time) and you can only recover it by providing information regarding who you got your cheats from 🤔
That actually sounds dope
They are at all times already aware of those vendors though
Didn’t know activation was going to sue them self 👁👄👁
They need to do something! They seemed to be in trouble their selfs…🥺
Drifter. Good to see you. Do you have any updates on this lawsuit?
Activision is wilding rn they just went for the head directly
I should sue them for releasing unfinished products
Previous examples of Chinese cheat provider getting caught resulted the leader in prison for 6 years. Other staffs were sentenced to 2 to 3 years.
Wow interesting stuff!
Great video Drift0r 👍
Let hope that ain’t there anti cheat what they have been talking about 😂
It is cause their anti cheat not working
Crazy how a good anti cheat could prevent all of this 💀
Very nice vid bud 👌
So they can line their pockets even more? Cause they sure as hell won’t invest it in prevention or their community/employees.
Cheat provider move to Nigeria to sell cheats but people won’t know if it’s legit or a scam lol
Now this could've been used for older CODs like Black Ops, Black Ops 2, World At War...But I'm glad they are taking this 1 seriously at least.
They will sue for a billy but still haven’t fixed people backing out of warzone leaving the team
They still need to block from an IMEI level.
You look good and healthy. Glad to know things are looking up!
Hello and thank you kindly! Nicely done!
They needed money real fast for their own lawsuits, probably the only reason they are doing this
Winky fluff dog has your back
Take this worth a grain of salt, is it possible that Activision didn’t do anything about cheaters in games because they were waiting to sue after they themselves were sued for sexual harassment?
Possibly like an ace in the hole for kotek and friends. Merely a theory.
Except Bobby stepped down. If this lawsuit goes through, and Activision wins, and actually collects any money, Bobby wont see a single penny of it.
Makes sense. Still a way to keep the company afloat.
Drifter I mean this in a very positive way. Your life examples make me realize that i do not want to be internet famous or anything. Having to deal with the things you had to deal with scare the crap out of me. However i have an insane amount of respect for you!
What are you talking about. If you work for a corporation or have a company yourself you are obligated to follow certain rules, them being deal of common interest that has to be fulfilled in certain time or way or taxes. Its the law and differs depending on the situation and country. In fact Driftor might have it easier because he is 30+ and only learnt of them not long ago (according to him at least, plus he works at home and alone). I am 26 and i am aware of most of the things he is referring to already.
What i am trying to tell you, there is no escape of laws and deals and very few things in life don't have limitations of any way...
@@dimitrisoikonomou3568 I am not saying by not being Internet famous I won’t be obeying laws. I am saying having that attention like being harassed and having to deal with having that happen. I am not saying it won’t happen to me but how Drifor has managed everything just impressed me.
Btw @Drift0r, there is a lawsuit going on in Russia, against cheater providers. Wargaming suing someone in Russia for making cheats, so maybe there is not a good option for cheater providers to move into Russia. Btw love u. Im glad that u r feeling good again.
5:20 we all know its EightThoughts
That provider engin owning well they are still on the game .. nice video drifter. Theirs a good part on page 17.
I gave a like just because of the dog at the very end.. it was a great content, but I cannot resist to dogs lol
Precedent? Guess you haven't heard of WoW. Activision (Blizzard) won several lawsuits vs bot / hacks makers ages ago, all involving CA courts and Germany. This included an insanely long, complex and expensive legal process vs Bossland (honorbuddy makers).
I have not heard of that!
@@Drift0r Activision Blizzard vs Bossland GmbH was an epic battle that took like 5 years and visited every high appeals court in Germany I think. It included WoW and Hearthstone and Overwatch. I think a lot of precedents got set there since this thing covered every possible legal escape attempted by Bossland, and again was CA courts vs German company.
Hmm, I wonder who you were talking about when you mentioned your suit against a Canadian content creator??🤔🤔
Soon as this was announced I just knew driftor would have the absolute best rundown on the whole saga, I’ve not got much love for Activision but I’ve got even less for cheaters.
EngineOwning in Germany are not giving a sh@t by all accounts on twitter
just checked and engine owning still has its cheats up lmao
Looks like COD is out of money, time to sue 🤣
When cheaters are making more money than the company creating the software. I really feel for Activision. They getting thrown under the bus by staff, the community, engineowning, etc seem like they going through it left and right and meanwhile they here providing us a free to play game. It's like people need someone to blame and they don't care who's responsible.
Just curious, if anyone can confirm was his lawsuit against 8thoughts and was then lawsuit against him machinema?
This whole video coulda/shoulda been a doge picture. I woulda still watched it.
Make a decent anti cheat: ❌
Sue for money: ✅
Well of course. Gotta keep the investor's happy, and definitely not your customers
It still forces the cheat-makers to abandon their actions.
For Activision, it is a win-win killing-two-birds-with-one-stone.
@@GreyWolfLeaderTW I’m in my room privately developing whatever I want. They stop nothing this way, they only decentralize it and make it harder to stop in the future. Look at crypto for example, the cheaters in that field are already developing something the government doesn’t even know about to continue their money laundering. Cheat devs do the same thing.
@@GreyWolfLeaderTW So true, why would you bother investing millions of dollars into an anti-cheat when you can just destroy the source... Don't people realize this is going to have a huge postivie impact on every single other game out there?? Who cares if Activision is going to get money out of this.
Does the ricochet anti-cheat bring any bells for ya?
Geez man can't wait 🙌
Good make an example of them.
will say this, at least Activision has precedent... vs another company similar to this and in GE.. if this gets to trial, Acti "Owns" Engineowning..
and i see them bending over and saying " thank you sir may i have Another" to make Activision go away.
They should sue all the IPs also
Get 'em!
What are your thoughts on Bird Law?
Too little too late. I stopped playing COD years ago, only reason was the cheaters.
@driftor people whit disabilities should allow to cheat at videos games ?
They should sue them self for having a whitelist and letting all their main streamers cheat engine owning can fight for double what they are getting and since it’s a lawsuit they will have to show the whitelist
So they basically sued themselves
Lol for real ,it's just to shift the blame
A win for Activision means their totalitarian rot spewed into Call of Duty aka Skill Based Matchmaking prevails.
You seem like a very interesting guy. Thank you for the info.
What if the hackers never even played the game, are they breaking the agreement if they never agreed in the first place?
If only they can put that type of money into the actual anti cheat. Screw this game and Activision, I'm gonna go play some Apex Legends
Eeeeeehhppaaaa que buen trbajajo
No one asked
Agreed
You don't need to make one if you get rid of the cheat makers from the start... stupid comment
Well damn
Activision won in California court but German court didnt agree so in conclusion we learn that not only Activision can't stop cheats but even the USA cant stop them. Best thing Activision can do is add a feature for cross play with consoles only.
This is good but let’s see if they fix bo2 and bo3
Damn Lmao
*Activision sues hackers for 1 Bil to prepare for 1 Bil payout for sexual harassment lawsuit
All they have to do now is sue about 10k other companies so the game will be fair again LMAO
They have to get money to settle all the sexual harassment lawsuits
Bout time ive lost so many games of wz bcause of hackers hope all the big sites get real scared by this
If the game companies worked with cheat providers and gave them their own servers on the understanding that if a cheat migrates to a legit server then the cheat provider has to pay a ridiculous fine, it might work to give fair players a good game and at the same time satiates the hack hungry, you could then have a cheater league for the worst hackers and a normal legue for legit. Activision wins, legit players win and the cheat dealers win.
Cheating is OK in singleplayer/offline games, but online against other people is just scummy. Plus, owning someone with your own skills is WAY more dopamine.
Well said
They need to sue themselfs for ruining modern warfare so people can buy this meme of a game called vangaurd
Go back to the paperwork the funny nazi pistol with a red dot is hurting my brain lol. Great to the point coverage as always
lol finally what i been going too their support for to report the problem after every report made in support it took over 160 support tickets to finally have it happen.
hope they dont forget the cheat controller providers.
Dang it's sad to see it took them this long to do something about it where was the lawsuit when people was hacking Black Ops 2 and the other CoD's that are considered the best ones in the franchise but no they let them die to Hackers and Moders
You do know that nothing will happen right? You really think they’re gonna break down “cheaters” door and arrest them? You think they’re gonna do that 100x or 1000x like they should?
How about all the youtubers that use a camo swap tool?
you're a clever geezer tbf
Activision needs to recoupe the money lost in poor COD Vanguard sales somewhere.
11:01 punishing the cheat provider should be illegal?!
have they fixed their game yet?
