Strong politically minded people make up a very tiny portion of the population. It just doesn't seem like that, because they are so loud and news worthy.
@Donald Trumpstein Standard observation when dealing with micro-populations of people, but not accurate when considering the entirety. In the past 40yrs, the World has changed more dramatically than the previous 500. And those 500 yrs changed more than the 2000yrs prior. Change has always been proportional to population, not radical individuals or small groups. However, it is thought that we (as humans) are approaching an epoch, where cultural change is being restricted more and more due to the growth of the Worlds population. This is due to the sheer amount of 'normies' the World contains. The more there are, the less likely enough will become exposed to 'the change', and 'the change' never takes a foothold before a new wave of change comes along.

@@UNC00KED a complete mismanagement of the PPE crisis early in the year for starters. It was a NIGHTMARE for us healthcare workers. Trump decided to let “the market take care of it” which set off a bidding war between states. Trump refusing to wear a mask and turning it into a partisan issue when it’s just damn common sense. I could go on, but I’m exhausted of it all.
@@Funnylittleman Well first of all, thank you very much for being a frontline healthcare worker, my heart goes out to you, for putting your life in risk to help others. Second of all, I don't believe he mismanaged the PPE situation. I have seen several videos of the state governors themselves saying Trump and the administration provided everything they needed. Trump is the POTUS, but at some point, you have to put some of the blame on the governors for playing politics and not asking for help and being honest when they needed it. I feel like it's a good thing that Trump operates more as a federalist than not.
@@Funnylittleman Oops accidentally hit send when I wasn't ready to. And then regarding the issues of masks, yea I completely agree with you, Trump's overall communication regarding masks has not been beneficial. But, I will say that issue of masks is not as clear cut as you may think. Several countries have enforced strict mask mandates and still seen crazy outbreaks. And also, there was a study that came out recently that stated around ~85% of people that contracted covid wore masks regularly.
@@UNC00KED Trump handled the Pandemic extremely poorly. His biggest accomplishment was the travel ban from China early on, but even after it was put in place over 40,000 people were allowed to enter the country from China with no precautions at all to monitor them, so... It didn't really work. And speaking of China, they absolutely CRUSHED the virus and if we followed them in their efforts we would be in their place right now as well only getting a few new cases a day rather than 100,000. They immediately issued a very strict lockdown and suspended public transportation. Everybody also adopted mask wearing immediately in the very early stages as well as implemented contact tracing and created 14,000 health checkpoints in central hubs around China. If Trump had been honest to the public in the beginning and started implementing similar measures, we would be in a far better place. Your point about "85% of people who contracted Covid wore masks" is completely irrelevant too. The point of a mask is not to protect the people wearing them, but to stop the spread of the virus from people who may have it. That's why it's critical everyone adopt it, otherwise... Well, you get the situation we're in now here in the United States. Trump absolutely mishandled this entire thing but is too stubborn to admit he was wrong.
I have been working from home since March. And it has been devastating on my mental health. My actual health suffered too, I got my first panic attack of my life, my blood circulation went down, I started getting paranoid about my health and my mood has been negative over last 5 months. This obviously affected my personal private life, as well as my work life. I am doing way less work now and cant focus much on anything else that makes me happy. No healthy 26-year old should do blood tests 2 times a year, yet I did because of my paranoia that I am dying (which every test and symptom says I am not). Obversely now it's Autumn time and there is almost 0 sun in the U.K. so I am getting less vitamins and my skin getting pale. My appetite is crap too, and I dropped almost 20 KG of weight which is super not healthy. I got corona test 3 times!! guess what, 3 times negative yet I experienced every symptom there is about it. What a lot of people do not understand is that wearing a mask does not make you fearful. Wearing a mask makes you considerate. I am generally conservative, but, as you were saying, I just don't understand how this has turned into a political issue. Wearing a mask to prevent the spread of a virus is really not that difficult, and just seems like common sense.
I agree, I also lean more towards the conservative side, but around where I am no one really does the anti mask thing. South Texas seems to be kind of unaffected to that ideology, though I have seen some Halloween parties, albeit small and not as grand
@Devin white Ok, so, I would like for you to run a test. Go to your house. Go outside. Spit. As you will see, the spit will land in front of you. Now, put your mask on and spit the same way. Sure, a bit might have made it through, but most got caught in the mask. I am not saying that masks are the end all/be all solution, and they are by no means perfect. The virus will still spread mask or no mask, but will just do so at a reduced rate with a mask, as according to CDC doctors.
@Devin white They had said that due to a low number of testing samples to my knowledge, and have since reiterated that masks are crucial in the slowing. If you are not going to trust health experts, you can always trust yourself, but lets see your credentials compared to those with Phd's that have devoted their lives to the study of medicine. And again, who are you hurting by wearing a mask? Nobody ever has an answer to that.
I understand being careful. But there comes a point when u weigh the options of being too careful and not living your life or living your life to your fullest. Staying inside and quarantined is not living life to your fullest for most ppl. I've heard from many elderly ppl that might be in rural/suburban areas that they don't care too much about this virus, they just want to hold their grandchildren and see their family. And they hate to admit but they say they don't have much time left to live as it is. So they will take that chance to live a happier life than to live in fear. Its not that everyone is crazy, i think its that mostly everyone doesn't even know of a person that had the Rona and died, or even seen what the main stream news is talking about 1st hand(ex - Ryan Upchurch lived in Tenn. and he made a video saying he sees nothing different, nobody sick/dying, no overloaded hospitals and he is a well-known popular person/music artist. Tenn was supposedly in the Red as far as infection levels and he seen no difference, even tho the news is saying everyoneis dying stay inside. Come to find out now Tenn. only had a handful of deaths). And with that in mind they don't feel a need to live in fear. Also noting lockdowns and quarantines are bad for mental and physical health as well does not help this situation. The news seems to not mention anything about the suicides, mental health issues, declining immune systems, economic hardships, failed businesses, etc resulting from these lockdowns, but they are a huge factor in the way ppl weigh these options. If the virus were far more deadly u would see a different outcome I believe. I just think a lot of ppl feel like they've been lied to, they lost businesses, money, wasted their time, maybe lost family due to mental health/overdoses, and maybe lost homes/cars/etc and I think they aren't buying into this virus anymore. W.H.O. came out and said they advised against lockdowns for the virus, as lockdowns are more damaging to ppl than the virus itself. So its just that in a nutshell I believe. Ppl been locked down, they lost their economy, money, assets, and family and they realize the damage from lockdowns are more severe than the virus itself. I personally think we shouldn't lockdown but learn to live with it carefully.
I agree; fortunately I’ve yet to witness someone close to me dying from COVID-19, overcrowded hospitals, and the images painted in mainstream media. I live in the Chicagoland area where cases are extremely high. Could it be that testing is much more widely available then it was in the beginning of the pandemic? Even those who’ve tested positive with virus that I’ve known in severe cases had symptoms that weren’t even related to COVID-19 alone. Often times they were sick with some other infection/disease and just happened to test positive for COVID-19 as well. This is all just my perspective though. I however believe that COVID-19 is real and that we should continue practicing safe guidelines but learn to live with it.
@@TheQB1999 i know they have accerated the testing and have called deaths from alzheimers, car accidents, other disease, and suicides/etc as covid deaths. Michigan supposedly also has a crap load of nursing home deaths they haven't even reported, due to admitting sick ppl and felons into nursing homes. But they haven't released all the data from all of the nursing homes. A lot of messed up stuff is happening. Flu/pneumonia counts are way down compared to previous yrs but covid is up and is everywhere? Trump had it and was good in 3 days, Cuomo had it and recovered, a friend at work supposedly had it and it was gone in 2-3 days. All the same things happen with the flu and pneumonia(and affects elderly worse as well). I personally believe the case and death numbers are fluffed heavily and its blown way out of proportion.

Seriously people, what’s so hard about wearing a mask to protect each other till we can get our country back on its feet. It’s simple, not hard and doing some simple things can make this go by quicker.
1) CDC admitted recently that 85% of virus+ people wore masks. Which is above the number necessary per projection of decreasing in spread. 2) you're not factoring in that there is a large portion of people in the U.S. who already have issues with their lungs that masks will exacerbate and decrease the effectiveness of their current immune system. Likely causing them to become more susceptible to a virus that targets the said parts. 3) CDC also admitted recently that over 130k of the virus deaths had no relation to the virus and were instead HAs that the virus did not exacerbate. 4) also not taking into account mental illness Sources: CDC, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard, and Stanford.
@@GaldoranGailthros it's counter intuitive. If everyone stops wearing masks because they think everyone already wore masks then that 85% percentage will go down. This pandemic could've been slowed down wayy better months ago but everyone is just so stubborn and stupid

You're looking at one number and saying their lives were the only ones that mattered. Disgusting.
damn, i feel bad for you guys in the USA who are trying to do the right thing. I myself live in Victoria, Australia and we just got out of a several month tough lockdown because we had a 2nd wave, only essential shops were open (supermarkets, pharmacy etc) some restaurants were open but only for delivery, schools shut down, instead we had online classes. Weren't allowed to hang out with other people from a different household, 5km radius of travel for exercise or essential reason to leave the house. Now we are out of lockdown with having multiple days of 0 new cases and 0 deaths, 60 active cases across the whole state out of 6.4 million people, shops are starting to open again, kids are back at school, people can go eat at restaurants safely and we are slowly but surely getting back to normal, also mandatory mask wearing when in public.
Here's what I don't get. If having to stay in bothers you so much, don't. It's too late. You can't have both. Either you're worried about the virus, or you're done dealing with it and you're going out. That's our reality. Nothing is gonna change that
My neighbor does that to and it keeps me up all night, they do it basically every single day and it is the most stupid thing on earth they never wear masks and they are right down the street from it is the worst.
I COMPLETELY agree, it’s honestly ridiculous at this point and I’ve honestly lost all care for this issue. I’m still staying at home, but wow the arrogance of some others!
I think that the demonization of the opposite political party is caused by (at least for me) the huge difference in opinions on what should be not argued over. It feels like trying too often like argue with someone that gravity pulls objects towards the ground.
My next door neighbours threw a halloween party. On top of not inviting my brother (he wouldn't be able to go anyway cause pandemic), they made fun of his tourettes the two days leading up to it, and then sent 30 kids to our door to beat it down asking for candy. For 2 whole minutes they rang the doorbell, punched the door, and pressed their faces up to the glass. Finally had to go to the door and tell them to leave. No one had a mask on, including the parents. OH, and my neighbours had a bouncy castle up and I didn't see any limits on how many kids were in there at a time.
Coming from Victoria Australia, where we took a second wave outbreak from 680 cases in a day to 0 Australia wide for the last few days it amazes me that nobody in US gov wants to lead and actually tell people what to do given how many have already died and how many more will inevitably come. Stay safe man, there's only so many sane people in the US these days.
When I first saw the title I was so scared that you were gonna be like anti mask or 99.9% fatality rate. But the rant was exactly how I feel. As a volunteer EMT, thank you so much for this.
A 90% survival rate sounds amazing until you get hit by that 10%. I have two uncles who were infected. One died a painful death and we couldn't even bury him because of contagion concerns. Another was in a coma for 25 days while on a ventilator. I wish more people took COVID more seriously, maybe I would still have an uncle to talk to.
I totally feel you in this! I'm a kitchen manager in a restaurant in missouri, and we have parties of 20-90 every single day, and nearly 30 workers each shift. Many people in my area refuse to wear masks, or even take basic safety precautions, and then want to blame me or other responsible people for being safe. I just bought a house and my girlfriend is pregnant with my first child on the way and this has made both of these processes much harder. If I or her test positive, we won't be able to see our baby after he's born. I have lost 2 family members to this disease and I just am constantly sickened by the lack of competency in our government and the support they are receiving from what seems like far too many people. I was lucky enough to be employed even through the shutdowns but many cannot say the same and I can't believe financial support isn't being provided in any way whatsoever. Meanwhile the same people against masks and shutdowns also largely are against universal healthcare and state/ federal plans that help people in need. All while you have BLM supporters and racists bigots who don't even understand the basic principles behind the movement trying to vilify them. I just can't sit back and turn an eye to things that effect my life. I hate the way our country is going in nearly every single way. Rant over, but I appreciate the video. Keep up the good work and appreciate the talking videos. Have a great day!

@UtherSwagBringer Any evidence to back this up? For arguments sake, even if this is what the "globalists" and "deep state" want him to think, does that automatically make the idea bad? Do you oppose the idea based on its own merits or just because the globalists/deep state support it? That's exactly what people do when they are presented with, for an example, an idea supported by Joe Biden or an idea supported by Donald Trump. They automatically dismiss the idea because it is supported by their opposition without actually looking at the idea based on its own merits. That isn't brave. That's just lazy tribalist partisanism.

That's less than 15,000 people out of the 330,000,000 US population. The other 94% had an average number of comorbidity factors of over 2.3. Also, their median age was 82 years old.

Not worth the risk guys! I tested positive in my 20s and tried my best to stay at home and stay hygienic but still caught the virus. Now I'm in self-isolation and only leave my room for necessities only and I do that to save my parents from contracting it from me because they are more vulnerable. I know people that lost people close to them and I hope to not see it happen to anyone else. Stay safe in the upcoming lockdown in UK.
you dont get to complain about people being unwilling to quarantine and then also complain that people are in bad situations with money bro. you are burning the candle at both ends. it is impossible to provide benefits when people dont pay taxes. people cant pay taxes if they dont work. you are describing a situation that sucks (and is nothing new) with no clear answer.
252% rise in young people (18-24) seriously considering suicide since lockdown began.... and youre telling us that we're terrible people cause we think we can go to work and continue life while keeping the vulnerable quarantined.... so why arent you a terrible person for pushing these mental health problems from lock down on people? what about the people trapped in the house with their abusers? why dont you care about those people drift0r??
Drift0r, thank you SO MUCH for making and posting this video. I shared it as best I could, and I think it is one of the most relevant videos that I have seen regarding these issues to date. I think more people need to be actively aware of how bad it is, how much worse it could be, and what they can do to change that outcome.
A few things to think about: 1. What if we had touted the survival rate from the beginning, rather than fear mongering the .4% of Americans that died of those that got Corona? 2. What happened to 15 days to flatten the curve? 3. If it's so dangerous, why are the rules so lax and different state to state? 4. If you have an auto immune disease or pre existing condition, you are at risk to just about any virus, not just Corona 5. Elderly people can also be killed by more than 1 virus, not just Corona 6. And finally, if so many of us can be asymptomatic carriers and this disease is so "dangerous", why are we allowed to reuse masks and dispose of them in our every day garbage?
100% agree with everything you have said. My wife and myself are also taking COVID seriously. We have been quarantined since late February. It’s so difficult seeing those you care about not taking things seriously. Just wanted you to know you are not alone!
Its not always an issue of logic most people dont have the luxury of staying home for a year and having everything delivered they've gotta leave the house to survive ya know to work and get food.
@Brian Brown that part is true it's not hard and I also do this in public when required and when around vulnerable people but it's also true that masks do not always prevent it and in cases where people dont clean or replace their mask it exacerbates the issue so no with his logic it would probably not be gone. Less cases? Yes. More poverty, domestic abuse, suicide etc? Also yes
@Brian Brown whoa dude way too many points in one comment if you wanna have a conversation make one statement at a time. You're going on like 3 tangents at once I dont want to type a damn chapter every response. As for your first remark thanks I think my outlook on masks is quite good.
It’s been wild. I graduated in May, no ceremony. On the day of the virtual ceremony was moving my grandmother out because she couldn’t take care of herself anymore. Had a job lined up post graduation and eventually started it. Part of that meant moving out to the east coast. So I have had so many life changes and new job challenges because of Corona. To buy myself a little sanity, with the sign on bonus I received I got a firearm. Also completely agree with the civil war remarks. It would not be fun or cool, bloodbath is a more fitting word. Don’t forget about Russia and China becoming increasingly aggressive too.
As someone from the other side of the pond, I've noticed that in the news over here in Britain too for the past two months, and it's beyond infuriating. I've heard absolutely nothing about the total of deaths in a long time, just increases in the number of cases. It's the kind of... subtle shift in the language that they're using which is giving them the leverage to do whatever the heck they want, and all I can do is just watch from the sidelines and get utterly frustrated.

Out of all the bad to come out of 2020, I believe the worst is the unbelievable amount of people that have no emotional capacity and lack any form of empathy for others.

Amen, I completely agree

No joke. Can you imagine these people back in the great depression or ww2??? If wearing a mask is too much, they wouldn't have lasted a week then.
4) also not taking into account mental illness
Sources: CDC, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard, and Stanford.
@@GaldoranGailthros it's counter intuitive. If everyone stops wearing masks because they think everyone already wore masks then that 85% percentage will go down. This pandemic could've been slowed down wayy better months ago but everyone is just so stubborn and stupid

We all know who disliked this video, people with dents in their heads.
the quarantine benefits a lot more than you think it does.

Can you do a video of reading this comment section I want another rant video

Agreed. One of the few people that isn't a partisan nutjob.

A few things to think about:
1. What if we had touted the survival rate from the beginning, rather than fear mongering the .4% of Americans that died of those that got Corona?
2. What happened to 15 days to flatten the curve?
3. If it's so dangerous, why are the rules so lax and different state to state?
4. If you have an auto immune disease or pre existing condition, you are at risk to just about any virus, not just Corona
5. Elderly people can also be killed by more than 1 virus, not just Corona

@Brian Brown that part is true it's not hard and I also do this in public when required and when around vulnerable people but it's also true that masks do not always prevent it and in cases where people dont clean or replace their mask it exacerbates the issue so no with his logic it would probably not be gone.
