Conclusion : If you have lots of money that you want to spend for a very small performance boost go for it. But If you are a clever person and dont fall in marketing tactics then settle with your current ddr4 ram.
By the time your video came out, the highest frequency (not speed) already was 8000 mhz without it being overclocked. 8400 mhz is technically the theoretical limit, but so is 3200 mhz for ddr4. The reason we see higher frequencies is because of the effective speed which gets doubled (DDR = *Double* Data Rate). This also explains verified overclocks of over 11000 mhz. The speed of ram depends as much on Cache Latency as it does on the frequency. One other important fact about DDR5 is, that unlike DDR4, it has double the burst length, which in short allows it to read double the data at once.
this was a no-nonsense easy to understand and digest video with a easy to listen to format. Thank you for such a quality video as this did shed light on the questions I had regarding DDR4/5 RAM differences.
I have i9 13900k/RTX4080/128GB DDR4 3600 @ CL18 and i9 13900ks/RTX4090/128GB DDR4 3600 @ CL18 - both running gear 1 (my 128GB RAM 4000 sticks didn't play well at gear 1). Comparing my benchmarks to videos on here and I hold or exceed their numbers so have zero motivation to move to DDR5.
@@tech-techover Thanks mate. The 4090 system is mine, the 4080 system is my family PC. At the office I run i9 12900ks/128GB @ 3200 C16 and RTX2060 12GB.
is INTEL CORE i5 12400F 4.4GHz 6 core 12 thread processor able to connect DDR5 32GB? I bought a new computer but only has 16gb of ddr4 with 3200MHz and lately I wanted to get a new ddr5 32gb with 6000MHz Please tell me THANKS!
In my opinion both combinations are great. But you will definitely need the extra power from the 3070 irregardless of whether you pair it with DDR5 or DDR4
What a joke!😂 How can you ask such question? You are comparing 3060 with 3070?😂 Dont do that plz 3070 is the powerhouse for gaming and 3060 is just a 1080p card that cant even give you 60fps constant on ultra settings for some heavy weight games. That doesnt matter whether you have ddr4,ddr5 ram or a different cpu. For example An i5 12400f+3070+ddr4 ram can easily beat i7 12700f+3060+ddr5 ram system in gaming with a very big difference. So when its gaming dont even think about ram ddr4/ddr5, cpu blah blah blah only think about graphic card.
honestly its just a waste of time and money. sure it will be faster but to upgrade to DDR5 i would need to upgrade my mobo and find one compatible with my current processor. im sure im gonna have to replace the motherboard at some point but for now its still running strong and i dont see why i would switch from 3k+ MHZ 32gb -> 4k+ MHZ 16-32gb.

Is this why ddr4 motherboard cost more then ddr5 but yet ddr5 is faster??? Why is this ?!!?
Recently upgraded my 8700k -> 13700k, 16gb ddr4 3200mhz -> 32gb ddr5 6400mhz and 3080 -> 4090. Not gonna think about upgrading for a long while now.
That’s one beefy system 💪
Bro had a 8700k with a 3080💀
A recipe for a bottleneck 😅

Oh and DDR4 has, so far, way lower latencies which still makes it a valid consideration.

DDR 4 is still great 😊 you will not feel left out

Can I use ddr5 on a motherboard of ddr4
No you can't. You just have to go out there and buy a new motherboard that supports DDR5
Thanks

Great video. Also, I have ryzen 5 3400g and rtx 4060 and the cpu is probably bottlenecking the gpu. I wanna buy ryzen 7 5700x, is it good combo?
That sounds like a solid upgrade! The Ryzen 7 5700X should pair nicely with your RTX 4060.

Not yet as DDR4 still does the job as required
Minimum 32gb is needed in 2024 especially for gaming 16gb struggles
I totally agree; moreso, the GPU V-RAM, more is always better
