- Tonight in Denver, the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Denver Nuggets, 97-90, to even the best-of-7 series at 1-1. CJ McCollum led the Trail Blazers with a game-high 20 points (8-20 FG) to go with 6 rebounds and 6 assists, as Damian Lillard added 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in the victory. For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic totaled 16 points (7-17 FG), 14 rebounds and 7 assists, while Paul Millsap recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds in the game. The Nuggets notched a single game franchise NBA Playoffs record with 24 offensive rebounds. Game 3 is set to take place in Portland on Friday, May 3rd at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

This game showed us the importance of the big man/center is still critical for being an elite team. Blazers only had 1 big man out on the court which was Kanter, and he wasn’t 100% and wasn’t as active on the board or as aggressive. Which allowed the nuggets to grab offensive boards after offensive boards

ATruePointGuard when did I say Denver won or that blazers lost??? I was talking about rebounding, you can’t let that happen, esp in a playoff game. This game was pretty much down but those offensive boards kept getting nuggets back into it. Those errors can’t be happening is what I’m saying
Collins had a really good game too for the blazers. Also nuggets got most those offensive rebounds on like 6 possessions
all I have to say is jokic clearly fouled out with like more than 5 min left and refs chose to ignore it he also shoved kanter into broken nose dude since when is pushing okay?

@@mcdonaldswi-fi9502 I think they resign Aminu to a friendly contract like they did with Nurkic. Kanter already got payed the big bucks so I think he resigns for the veteran minumum to be the starter until Nurkic is healthy. Blazers will exercise their mid level exception to resign Hood. They will let Curry walk and I hope they trade their draft pick and either Meyer's or Evan for salary cap relief. It is doable.

How quick the bandwagon media forget who this man is after ONE game!! The series doesnt start till the road team wins on the opp home court. AND THE FIRST TEAM TO PLAY DEFENSE WILL WIN THIS SERIES. 121 points - 90 points. YEP, PORTLAND ADJUSTED. And Dame without even scoring much reminded everyone who really is the better player. Didn't you see Jokic just sitting on the bench looking nervous the 2nd half every time they panned to him... Dame was engaged cheering yet stoic while resting on bench. Never waivers. I can point out 5 clear missed calls, and Dame made it known but stayed the course. The announcers were even saying for several of those that they missed it. Game felt rigged but DAME IS A MAN among men and proved that to win you gotta BE the man to make the play - hence the assist to Hood for corner 3 with 2 mins left and 7 point lead to go up 10 again.

Both, Jokic and Lilard played terrible tonight.
Both teams did a good job of locking down the other's best player. I had a hunch Denver wouldn't shoot so well again like they did in game one. The refs weren't calling fouls on Lillard's drives to the hoop so lillard couldn't even use his driving offense to get himself going.
