There are Telemers in your cells (telemers are kinda like the genetic clock of your body - the shorter they are - the older you are) and You may be in your 20s but if you do stuff that shorten them - like smoking, drinking, sugar , all that good stuff - your body ages beyod your "actual" age. But its true in reverse too - if you take care of yourself your body may be 10 years and more younger than your "real" age.
When I saw that he was specifically selecting redheads, it occurred to me that red hair is a recessive gene, even moreso than blond (which is why it's so rare), and is often accompanied by other recessive physical traits (blue or green eyes, pale skin). My theory is that if the aliens' goal is to further their genetic line, it would make sense to find partners with more recessive genes, so that the alien genes play a greater role in the development of the offspring.
I highly doubt the writer of this movie thought that hard about it. They probably just wrote this screenplay and added it because they like redheads. Good theory tho.

THANK YOU! The movie overall is just "ok" but reasonably interesting at parts but that moment was basically on par with teens deciding now's the time dip and pull while Jason's around.
I think the daughter mentioned at the start of the film that her mom dyed her hair and that it was originally red. The daughter’s hair is clearly blonde but since she shares the same genes as the mom she technically has the same genetic mutation.
I think the intent of the family drama was to create a rift between mom and daughter, which would emphasize the mom not believing her daughter and that John is a “bad guy.” But because they make the mom and daughter close, the intent is moot. I think they couldn’t make up their mind how they wanted to define the mother-daughter relationship. Just my two cents.
I agree with this but I also think the portrayal is pretty accurate. I’m a daughter with a single parent mom and while I think she and I are very close there is also a lot of hurt from over the years so I do feel that this push and pull is realistic.
I agree. Plus, they never extend on the family drama, it’s just that one scene so it makes it seem like it was just thrown in. We get nothing else about the grandfather for the rest of the movie.
I thought about this and it would have been better if the riff came between the mom and daughter over John. Like the mom noticed that her daughter had a little crush; with the insecurity angles of the mom, the mom might slowly suspect or watch lib and John. I would have taken away the over-the-top creep factor for John, even play it where he comforts lib (appropriately) through her embarrassment for her period starting on the boat. That way you continue to show Lib is confused, and likes John even more despite him not showing her interest. It could even get to a point where Lib is the creep, and John explicitly states that he is marrying Mom and that Lib is too young and ahould find someone her age. Lib could have gotten mad at her mom for getting married (if they were hell bent on futher family dynamics, then have them be a recently widowed family). Continue to follow Lib coming to terms her feelings about John as a new father figure vs her initial lust for him. Then when you think things are good have Lib do one more creep moment and keep the scene with John and the Mom. But now lib sees something wrong with John. Then start to pursue the pregnancy angle, but Lib is now reasonably standoffish, which makes the mom think it was about Lib finding out about the marriage and baby and not being able to move on. Then have her in town and see the John double, now lib has more reason to actively try to get rid of John. As she gets further into investigation, the audience then sees that the mom was the subject of research, and the whole species thing can be shown. Not sure how to end it since they didn't give much in the original.
You didn't mention that the guy did a weird alien shake in the background before Libby confronted him at the edge of the lake, that's why he was dry. Also I think that Libby drove the car to the edge of the lake to use the lights to see into the lake better, not to leave.

I always find it off-putting when conventionally attractive 20-somethings get cast as “awkward teens” and all the filmmakers do to hide the actors’ good looks is give them a dorky haircut and glasses if they’re guys and baggy sweatshirts and minimal makeup if they’re girls.
I mean, they can't cast someone too young for that role because it's kinda inappropriate. She literally touched herself, it would very awkward to tell a real teenager to do that on camera or pretend to.

Jacob is dying the entire movie from a wound he got in war. He never actually makes it home. Hes experiencing battling his own demons and angels until he just accepts that hes going to die and chooses his son in a positive light as his last thought before leaving his body.
Screamers is such a classic movie. But I rather he cover In the Mouth of Madness. It was part of a trilogy, but I can't remember much else, except Sam Neil sitting in the movie theater laughing as he basically watches the whole movie on-screen. The Hellraiser series would be good too.
@@angryBorderschick The Thing, Prince of Darkness and In The Mouth of Madness. The Apocalypse Trilogy by John Carpenter. Not really connected story wise though.
I liked the movie! Hopefully, he makes a sequel. I did like the actors, I think John was played well. As for Liberty, she might have not looked young but I think her portrayal of a timid teen girl was good. She was so awkward, soft spoken and would apologize way too much. Especially, in the boat scene when he gropes her she apologies for having her period. It was interesting that even he thought it was absurd for her to apologize to him by saying “Are you kidding me? I’m sorry”. Anyways good explanation, I appreciated you having a more positive look at the movie. It might not be good but it has a lot of potential for growth.
I went to see it at the cinema with my sister and my friend (cus she had free tickets) and midway through the movie her phone went off at the most scariest part made everyone jump
This movie left me with so many questions. Thanks for answering them 👍 I still question that scene where her friend is upstairs and all of a sudden what's her face is asleep? What's all that about.
Look, I love lampreys, I have loved them ever since I was a wee tot. But "no other animal parasitises others in order to adapt" is, at best, incomprehensibly vague. Lamprey eels suck blood. Some are filter-feeders, but the most famous ones are the blood-suckers. They gain the same benefits from this as a leech does, there is nothing unique about it. This does allow them to adapt, but in the same way as food allows any creature to adapt, that being allowing them to survive long enough to produce offspring. They are very interesting animals, but what makes them unique is the combination of traits that they have, not the uniqueness of said traits. A blood-sucking jawless fish that can migrate from saltwater to freshwater, and that has been relatively unchanged since before the Kellwasser event is not something to scoff at, but there is no need to make up vague attributes to it when it has so much to it already.
At first I wanted to say that I would rather the movie stays open ended and unanswered, but then I realised a couple of little things I wanna know... Why was John so upset about the baby, and why did he have to feed it the blue orb if it was his child and could (in theory) breathe underwater? If it couldn't, then was it all human even with his DNA input? Did the human genes end up dominant over every one of his own genes? How would he be able to actually father a child that is even partially his own species if that's the case? John's a scientist and conservationist, working to help sea creatures to survive in rapidly increasing salt water environments. Or, this is his cover. He's probably doing that for his own species. When he says 'I don't have much time', I think this is what he's referring to, how little time he has left to find a solution to save his species - aka why he's also trying to father offspring of his own species, both to keep it alive and to teach them to follow in his footsteps. So why not keep Marley alive to use her, too? What makes her unsuitable, while Libby and Michelle are? ... I think I just want an entire graphic novel from John's point of view lol.
Sounds very Lovecraft / Junji Ito in style, there could be a lot there for a sequel. I also didn't get the feel of an alien as much as an aquatic race similar to Lovecraft's Deep Ones - potentially beings that live under the ocean and want to terraform the earth for the dominance of a salt water lifeform. The lampreys to me imply that his species potentially is somehow related to them, the fact that he licks up blood makes that feel even more likely. There's also parallels in how he inserts himself into a relationship vs the parasitic behavior... I'd be up for a Junji Ito style horror movie about Lamprey-Man inserting himself parasitically into human relationships to take over earth.
Anyone else see a problem with this picture?: dude emerges from the ocean to say hi then says he will be back because he has a gift for her, as if he left it in his car or something.
Yeesh, I haven’t seen a guy this eager to take off his shirt to show his muscles since Alex Louis Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Interesting video on this one

@@Mike-mm8gg However, we naturally believe that aliens would know more than us but remember it's space and they may have varying different levels of tools and equipment. as soon as I finished this movie I was praying you would make sense of the terrible ending
"TO POP THAT TOP!"😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂
favorite!!!!
I literally saw this THAT night before, looked for who explained it well, saw no one do it well, then u come thru like this 🤙🏾🐐 u're the best at this
The fact that Mena Suvari is old enough to play a teenager's mother makes me feel old. It also doesn't help that she's hardly aged in 20 years.
I thought that’s who that was! It makes me feel old lol
Should I know her from something?
@@johnv6806 American Beauty
She has definitely aged naturally which is good
@@ariestarzga agree. You can definitely tell she's older but it's a natural older and not the weird Hollywood version of "older" . Glad she didn't get any crazy plastic surgery.
I always find it off-putting when conventionally attractive 20-somethings get cast as “awkward teens” and all the filmmakers do to hide the actors’ good looks is give them a dorky haircut and glasses if they’re guys and baggy sweatshirts and minimal makeup if they’re girls.
So true😂
And tell them to act "sullen".
And in reality, the attractive women or men are hardly awkward
I mean, they can't cast someone too young for that role because it's kinda inappropriate.
She literally touched herself, it would very awkward to tell a real teenager to do that on camera or pretend to.
I like that they hint at him not being able to survive in salt because he said he was “cutting out sodium” when she offered him the soda
This guy puts ALL ads at the end. Amazing :D
I just watched this.
And I literally didn’t know what to expect by the end.
I have no clue what I just watched.
And can’t wait to hear you explain everything
I hope you never stop making these kind of videos
Wow, the last time I was this early there wasn't a national quarantine, haven't finished the vid yet but I'm sure its great!
Despite him talking in a mid fast pace, i can still understand and laugh at his jokes
Just putting this out there. This is my favorite youtube channel. There! I've said it!
OMG I was waiting for this. No one does it like you!! I was 2 days from emailing you to review this movie. I was totally lost
This is one of your funniest movie summaries ever. You’re so silly I love it 😂
Back here again to recommend an explained on Jacob’s Ladder👀
Jacob is dying the entire movie from a wound he got in war. He never actually makes it home. Hes experiencing battling his own demons and angels until he just accepts that hes going to die and chooses his son in a positive light as his last thought before leaving his body.
An ending explained of screamers from 95 or in the mouth of madness also from 1995 would be killer!
@@robmckenney666I need confirmation on the type 2’s of Jennifer Rubin, that’s one of the biggest reasons I said he should do it!
Any chance we could have some subtitles for my deaf friends in here having my sister sign this to me is hard
There is auto cc if that helps? :)
"JACOB, KEEP YOUR SHIRT ON!!!"
"NO."
Well now you oughta cover What Lies Beneath. That movie gave me the creeps!
I went to see it at the cinema with my sister and my friend (cus she had free tickets) and midway through the movie her phone went off at the most scariest part made everyone jump
Always feels like an out of the blue movie premiere every time you put up a new video
“He appeared out of nowhere-HMPH” lmaooo
This movie left me with so many questions. Thanks for answering them 👍 I still question that scene where her friend is upstairs and all of a sudden what's her face is asleep? What's all that about.
Good to see you man! Sick haircut!!
I can't believe the mom is the same girl in "American Beauty"
Love all your reviews homie. Even movies I don’t like or I’ve seen I’ll still watch just because you make interesting and quality videos
I love listening to your videos when I'm at work. I feel like I'm watching the movie with how well you explain them
What lies below, the thing I ask myself when I have to clean under my bed
I think this could have all been avoided if they didn't drive a yellow beetle.
@Tammadrummer1337 I love this comment.
Oh thank god he did an ending explain on this. I had so many questions 😅
Ayo keep pumping out vids bro I love them so much they get me through after a long day at school and work 😍😍😍
Great video!! I can’t count the number of so-so movies I have avoided due to the incredible in-depth reviews
I'm glad you did this one. I was so confused when I watched it.

Girl: Soddy Pop?
Step daddy: Can't do the sodium.
Also Step Daddy in a previous scene: *drinking his own sweat*
You deserve a bloody medal! "to do some research on the critter that bit'er" that caught me so off guard I laughed out loud.
conrats on the 2M! Keep up the great work, sorry if I'm late!
Honestly I would like a sequel ! I think there's potential.
I do agree. A more unconventional take on the alien theme. Wished the family drama wasn't dumb and annoying as hell.
@@lipstickzombie4981 Exactly ! I would like to see the alien take be expanded upon.
Foundflix is definitely looking fresh and ready to tell some scary shit! I love looking forward to these every week!
So a male version of Tomie?
Anyone else see a problem with this picture?: dude emerges from the ocean to say hi then says he will be back because he has a gift for her, as if he left it in his car or something.
I WAS DYING FOR YOU TO COVER THIS THANK YOU
Was definitely confused at the end with this one. Glad you cleared that up along with a few things I missed.
Been waiting for this ALL DAMN DAY
On doge day??? Pshawwwww
Yeesh, I haven’t seen a guy this eager to take off his shirt to show his muscles since Alex Louis Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Interesting video on this one
LOL i love how they used mealworms as the centipede babies
Still awesome as always foundflix you’re doing great and I love your content
My dude is looking fresh! Did he dye his hair, it looks darker.
Ah always get hyped when I get the notes

Would it be easier to make a salt filter than evolve every species to survive salt water also I'm having trouble identify the mom and daughter based of age the both look in there 30s
Fr, this dude is a fucking alien, surely he could figure out how to do something we already know how to do
@@Mike-mm8gg However, we naturally believe that aliens would know more than us but remember it's space and they may have varying different levels of tools and equipment.
Like one alien race may not be able to or know about technology like some modern tribal communities and some might have our level of technology (One movie that showed this possibility for kids was pretty cool but I forgot the name)
Omg I love this channel so much so many movies am so scared to see literally broken down frame by frame for me 🙏
