To avoid air bags blowing, do what you did and then get ready to remove, after 20 minutes of no power from a disconnected battery. Good job, and most needed.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Kind regards.

I could almost smell a funky doggy/smokey smell when you pulled that first seat out! hahaha. Great video mate, good shooting. Thanks! This looks like a hard job to do by yourself.

Hello Pete, I don't understand why the second-row seat folding system is different from one Discovery 4 to another. Mine is a 5-seater, and the first time the seat folds at 90 degrees, and then the backrest folds... When the second row is folded, I can't push the driver's seat all the way back anymore.
I find your system much more practical.

Peter I saw first video on this car and the damage to drivers door column. I think this is caused by a slowly recoiling drivers seat belt then the door being closed on buckle. I had this on mine and avoided having to replace it by pulling seat belt all the way out, scrubbing really well with soapy water. Cleaning it well and drying properly then use dry silicone spray on it. It’ll recoil like new then and you can avoid further door column damage.

Hi, yes, the belt will probably not have retracted. And if the door is then closed, the dents and scratches will be there. I also "washed" the belts after removing the seats and then vacuumed them with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner. That alone brought an improvement. Greetings, Peter

@@notthatkindofachannel great. Silicone spray is good too and can be used on the pillar anchor so it slides really easily. As it’s dry nothing will get on clothes

I just bought my son a 2006 LR three with the three rows of seats. I’ve been looking for a video on how to remove the seats so I can properly clean the carpet as well. Thank you for such a high-quality instructional video.

Hi, nice work, good guide. thanks.
Did you try to replace the driver seat cushion?

    • @notthatkindofachannel
      @notthatkindofachannel  6 місяців тому +1

Hi, yes I have already done this to the driver and passenger seats. They look much better now and I'm really glad I did it! Also, both seat cushions were cheaper than if I'd had them done by a saddler.

Hey, no not at the moment! But I will remove the seat again as it creaks a bit. However, the seat cushion is only attached with 4 screws. Then unplug the cable for the seat heating and you're done 😉 Best regards, Peter

Great video, what would you estimate the weight of the 2nd and 3rd row of seats would be, thinking about taking the seats out for full time touring, towing a 3t van

You have a cracked seat, the seams have let go. Did you repair it somehow? Replacement on the seat, sewing?

Hey, I replaced the seat cushion, which I bought second-hand. It was cheaper than having it sewn by a saddler.

@@chojny23 No, not necessarily! You just need to be patient, as the 4 screws for the seat cushion are somewhat hidden.
