This song always gets me. It made me promise to work on my disorders and become functional enough to keep working on my craft. Stay alive. Find my purpose. Its alot but there is a reason not to given in when the day is done. Waking up everyday Thankful for something and fighting myself to stay stronger then I really am.

This song is sooooo damn underrated. Em is really a lot more than what they make him out to be. Dude is just too real, he just likes to have fun with his gift/talent.
Em is and will always be the goat to me. That's my opinion and I stick by it as I have since I was a youngin. And yes, he has an ear for picking the best vocalists to match with whatever song he produces. River with Ed Sheeran is AMAZING. Ed fits it perfectly.

I'm with you. I was church raised strict Christian but I couldn't help but wanna listen to the way he wrote his lyrics. It was a different style of rap but because his lyrics were explicit in some cases, my mom would have skinned me alive if she'd caught me listening to it in the house. Poetry is poetry. Not every poet reaches everyone but every poet will reach someone. And shout out to Chantelle for standing in for Sia, bringing vitiligo into the limelight and embodying the song's title.

I think what separates Em from most artists is he Really Really did have to survive so much, then find the courage to stand up to and against so much, then the strength to overcome and rise back up. His songs mean more when his life if attached.

I agree with everything you said man. I think the way sia sings in this song makes the song. Also the model they used for sia is perfect for the chorus because of her skin complexion just imagine the guts it took for her to come out and show her body getting into modeling. I feel like when the 1st time all the way through em was spittin' my life. But where I'm from there's not a single booth to spit in so I have notebooks filled with shit and still waiting to find someone who can drop beats with a booth to go nuts in and drop the shit I can say on a mic to show what I got. I tried an app once but that just don't got the influence that you need to make it cause the beats are generic for what I want to spit to, i need the flowing beats that em uses to spit and feel like it's organic and Taylor fitted to what I write. I've done a few freestyle porch battles and used old Marshall beats to kill it but I want to do my own shit and not bite anyone else.
