Turbo 2 was by far my favorite running shoe ever made. I came across this shoe for $59 on the Nike website and just placed my order. Hopeful the heel padding will be a solid upgrade and outweigh the additional weight added to this version. Love your video brother
Love the appearance and the shift to recycled materials, such a shame the performance isn’t there - doesn’t deserve the Turbo badge. I will be saving my money, thanks for the great review Ben 👍
Even in Nikes crowded daily trainer shoe grouping this one is another that struggles for an identity. Making a shoe for everyone & it ends up being a specialist for no one.
Fav shoe of all time is the endorphin speed 1. V2 was the same and while I only have around 14K on v3, if things go like they felt during that first run that will end up being it. Just such a good versatile shoe, foam feels even bouncier and softer on the v3.
My favorite shoe of all times is Altra One 2.5. Sadly discontinued a long time ago. This was the funnest and most enjoyable shoe to run in for me. Super light and bouncy.
I got these shoes about 2 weeks ago here in the states and it costs $150. I have been using them for all my runs and they felt great, I like them more than my Carbon Xs. It definitely feels like a totally different shoe compared to the previous Pegasus turbo models in that its not anywhere near as aggressive feeling for me, but I enjoy that.
Greatest shoe for me was the Nike Epic react, bought these when I first got serious about running, did my first ever 18 mile run in them straight of the box. Always remember that run (and the day after)
Approaching 400 miles on my first pair of Peg Turbo 2. Haven’t had a single issue with durability, and the shoes still feel great. Love em so much I got a few more pairs on sale around a year ago, as well all know.. sometimes a later version isn’t always the best. 😉 Keep the content coming Ben and keep turning that door knob. Happy running mate.
Thank you Patrick! Those v1 and v2 turbos would go on for miles and miles.. given the performance you could get out of them, it was such a great package!
My absolute favourite shoe is the Peg Turbo 1, ran Berlin 2018 in them and put 1000 miles on them. Struggled to retire them from my rotation. I’ll pick these up but for training rather than races now. The Next% and Alphafly have moved the race day shoe on quite a bit since 2018
Yes.. realistically if you have the budget then you're going to go with a vapor or alpha for race day.. it was always nice to have a option of a daily shoe that could get 95% of that performance and you could wear it for all your training!
Peg Turbo 1 has got to be my favourite shoe of all time, a perfect comfortable daily trainer. I have 2 pairs of Peg Turbo 2's now which i use for track and tempos and they're great, light and fast but not quite as much support as the originals.
Yes, would love to see a Nike comparison video….my Pegasus Turbo Natures arrive tomorrow, I wasn’t expecting to be as good as the originals when ordering them I just think they look really cool and if they’re on par with let’s say a the Pegasus 39 when it comes to performance I’ll be happy enough with them!
My favorite shoe is whatever Air Zoom Pegasus is most current :). I am currently rotating through two Vaporfly 4%s, one Next% and 4 Pegasus (35, 36, 37 and 38). A different shoe for 6-7 days a week after all, we need at least one rest day. I am looking forward to adding the Peg 39 to my rotation soon. It is cool from day to day to realize the different improvements on the Pegasus in the last several years starting 7 years ago with the 32 and 33 but now rotating through the others in the Pegasus line.
Hi, got my Pegasus turbo next nature today. The weight in US 11.5 the right shoe 296 grams and the left 284 grams! I've never had such a weight difference before!
Same with my zoom fly 5 .. i had to return them 3 times and then gave up . Unhealthy to have such difference in weight on a long term. It’s because of the cut up zoomx pieces. Seems to be hard to balance which scraps and how much glue …. No go for me
@@martinbergmann7478 Yes, that is definitely not OK. Thanks for your answer! Yesterday on my 10K I haven't noticed the weight difference. But I'm also a little uncomfortable with whether it's healthy...
Love the Peg Turbo 2’s. The only shoe I’ve had more than 2 pairs in. Got a box fresh pair waiting to come out once the second pair go. I don’t run in them much as I’ve got plenty others to keep me going. 😂
Great review - after a couple runs, I found this to be pretty stiff, but not in a "carbon fiber plate" stiff. Maybe I need to break this in a bit more, but to me it doesn't have the "spirit" of the original Peg Turbos
Best running shoe of all time....well current shoes aside...Nike Terra TC was incredible. UT was the Nike VaporFly2 of its day...an absolutely great race day shoe. Wish they would bring that one back! Thanks for your videos! Really enjoy your work!!!
NIke Air Vortex (Trainer) and Nike Air Edge (Racer) my favourites ...from the 1980's.... Full Air PU midsoles...just fantastic durability and performance.
Favorite show of all time: my GOAT would be the Pegasus 32. My 1st Marathon, half marathon shoe. I set all kinds of PBs in it! I ran 5Ks 10ks half and fulls in it. Then everyone thought a ton of foam was better!
Pegasus turbo 2 in my book was one of the greatest shoes nike has ever made. From a performance daily trainer, it’s on the same level as when the vaporfly came out. I was so sad when the discontinued them, and from what i’ve heard this nature version is super disappointing compared to the old ones. Don’t see anyone getting these compared the the asics novablast or saucony endorphin speed that are in the same price category.
Hello to you ! sorry to bother you but I would like to start running and I can't decide which pair of shoes is really good for someone who wants to run between 3 and 5 times a week and sessions between 2 and 10 km to start. If you can recommend me a pair of shoes that would be nice :-)

Just ordered these on sale as was the best deal I could get. Going from an old pair of Nike reacts, so hoping even with all the negative reviews these will be a big upgrade
The Turbo 1’s made me look at running a whole different way, I actually enjoyed running with those shoes. Bought them day one in the original color way. Thought the Tempo Next% would have the same effect but even better, boy was i wrong. The air bubbles are just so uncomfortable under my feet, i can feel the ground every step. Was sad to findout the turbos didnt exist anymore. I have the Hoka Carbon X 2’s which gives me a close effect of the turbo 1’s
Awesome, I have the two previous version of the Turbos and is one of my favorites of all time, I used to wear only Nike Vomero/Pegasus as my workhorses but when the Turbos came to scene I replace them as my overall trainer & race shoe
Nike Miler 1st edition. Those were unbelievable felt like a cloud and bouncy. I ran a 5k straight and was shocked. I worn those out and I wish I bought extra ones
Yeah I loved the Peg T2. Still got a pair I havent worn yet as the Endorphin Speed range took over as my session shoe. Shame this isn't quite what a lot of people had hoped for. Moving onto FOD and Run Testers videos now to see if they share your thoughts on it Ben. Fav of all time prob Vaporfly 1 as I've ran all my current PBs in that. Favourite daily trainer, 1080v10! Thanks again for the hat the other day!
Found the kicks on sale now, seems like a great deal for an easy run / tempo run training. Is it a good decision to make a switch if I found my Ultraboost are too heavy for everyday training? UB provide superb cushioning but sometimes they dragged me down if I want to pick up the pace in tempo run...
My greatest-- Salomon sense pro 4, Liked it must better then the pulsar, which I'll buy, i have tried it on . Change it normally good for the masses but not for the fan. Kinvara 6
Absolutely loved the 1st vapourflys, but I took your advice last year and purchased the Nike zoom x invincible fly knit 2 are my every day trainers. I’ve tried hoka and adidas but seem to get bad knees. I’ll be sticking with Nike now
Turbo 2 was my favourite but I had some upper ripping after 700km. I returned it and was able to get the 35 turbo, which I really liked and I got 1400km+ but it wasn't as good as the 2. I would like to get the true turbo 3 whenever they make it.
Loved the Adidas Supernova Glide 6, ended up buying 4 pairs, I've tried 7s, the 8s, the adios tempo boost and the Ultra boost but the 6s are still my favourite
The Pegasus Turbo 2 was my 2nd favourite shoe (after the Vaporfly first edition), so was looking forward to this shoe. So I'm disappointed it weighs so much - takes it away from being a true all-rounder like the previous version. It is now too close to the Invincible IMO. I already have that shoe for doing long daily miles, which is what this shoe is now turning into. I wanted a shoe that was suited for fast training sessions, and was hoping this would be it, but doesn't sound like it.
Greatest shoe ever was one that unfortunately never came out that I wear tested. Brooks Pure Drift 3 (they never released a 2nd version, either, but the badging said 3 on the pair I had). Sort of was them showing their hand that minimalism was dying since it had loads of cushion but a 2mm drop with insoles and zero drop without them. Weighed next to nothing, pure mesh upper, all time PR half in it. Would kill to have a few more pairs if they still exist anywhere.
I had the original Pegasus 35 Turbo but I got the Zoomfly 3 instead the Turbo 2 .I regret that decision. The best shoe I ever had from Nike was the Pegasus 36 and maybe the best shoe I ever had for running fast was the Adidas Adizero Adios 4 .
Cheers for the review Ben. I do not do many miles on the road mainly sticking to trail for 90% of my runs living in St Ives. I cannot see the advantage of the turbo over the everyday peg other than buying for environmental impact reasons.
Best (or should it be favourite?) shoe of all time? The original SL72 that came out in, surprise, 1972! Closely followed by the Nike Internationalist (early 1980s?. Still remember the excitement of buying my first pair of Adidas Tokyo spikes - beautiful blue kangaroo skin upper with the three white stripes. Gorgeous - and a bloody great racing shoe for all track distances!
Got them a few days ago also. It’s clear Nike reenforced it (the version 2 did break easily). But I was disappointed of all the extra weight and the sole not being a true zoomX
Zoom Fly Flyknit. I'm on my last pair from my stockpile now, wish they would do another more like this. I did briefly try the Mizuno Rebellion in a store though, and think that might be a good replacement.
Ben, you have to take into consideration that the version one was heavier than the version two. In my size UK 8.5 the first one was 240g and the second 215g. The v2 was a race type of a shoe with a very thin upper. We knew that this one was going to be different. When I wrote about this shoe on my blog I mentioned that there is a reason why they didn't bring out the v3 and that is the question of carbon plate. I just think that when there are so many plated shoes on the market, there just wasn't enough demand for the Peg Turbo in that price point. That is why they launched the Tempo Next%. Now this shoe is different because of that sustainability point of view which broadens the target market. However, there are things what needed to be done. First of all, they needed a more comfortable upper that add stability. Secondly, I think that they even made the shoe a little bit wider in mid-foot. That all adds weight and when it comes to midsole. It's not only ZoomX scraps and glue but there is also that cage to keep everything together and give stability. Nike says that only 55% of the midsole is ZoomX. Hence, my verdict is that this shoe is a retro version of the Peg Turbo and not a v3. That shoe looks good as a casual shoe and many runners can get everything done in it when they need just one shoe for a holiday trip for example. The Peg Turbo 2 was my all-time favorite shoe too but nowadays I'd choose a plated shoe for workouts and races. I like a lot what they did especially because this new shoe is priced quite well in mid premium range (depending on the country 20-25€ cheaper than the v2).
Would you be so kind to give an update about the durability please? I loved the Turbo 2, and I dont want to another plated shoe... And when I hear others: every Turbo next nature feels and fits differet (typical, similar to the zoom fly 5 with its "pieces" of zoomX) and durability wise I have heard many complains aswell.
Seems like this (or turbo2) is the standard the normal Pegasus should be made to, specially if it’s marketed as a daily and tempo runner. Would definitely be buying a pair only my zoom fly 4 are keeping me happy
Loved the Turbo 1's definitely one of my all time favorites. Turbo 2 was a very uncomfortable for me but i stil have four pairs and put a ton of miles. with version 3 so much heavier i will pass.
I'd go for the NB Fuelcell Rebel over this. My greatest running shoe of all time is the Fuelcell Rebel Version 1, closely followed by Rebel V2, but the Nike Next %2 is up there!!!!
Unpopular opinion: prefer it. I think we look at the turbo with rose tinted glasses from a time we didn’t have so many soft affordable carbon shoes. Had the peg turbo 2 and it was okay for today standards. Awesome at the time. I’m only 70 kg so not massive but the ball of the foot you could feel the 5 mm of actual zoom x bottom out after like 2 km. I think as far as a Pegasus goes the new one is an upgrade in the context of all the current models available. As a speed shoe it just wouldn’t compete now with all the soft carbon plated shoes. So for me, it’s appreciated that the foam is more stable but still more protective than normal foams without that low speed instability of normal zoom x. Only gripe is the pointy toe like the tempo. Whereas the vaporfly and Alphafly have parallel toe box on the big toe side the turbo and the tempo both start curving into the big toe way earlier. Length is fine though, the lockdown and plushness is something akin to an Asics and rare outside of ASICS.
Which one would you choose for your next run mate? These or the invinbles? How do these feel compared to the streakfly? Great video as always. Good luck for next Saturday.
As a longtime European fan of your channel i'm surprised you indicate prices in Pounds and Dollars only. Why not in Euros as well ??? Makes sense to me.....
It’s always hard to find prices to be honest.. and it’s probably the number 1 thing people moan about in reviews when we get them wrong! Some EU countries charge different amounts, which catches us out with some shoes. Will try to give a rough guide in future videos though. Thanks for following!
Are there ANY nike shoes that replicate the ride of the Lunaracer or Lunartempo? I've run in lunars for 10+ years and can't get on with anything else since they have been discontinued. I'm a forefoot runner and have almost flat feet. Anything with an arch hurts my feet and anything even slightly elevated hurts me too. So anything carbon is out. Can anyone help??
I was considering sizing down since they do seem a-little long for me. I could only get away with it with a slim sock if I were to. Would you say the eventually there’s any give in the upper loosen up and stretch out even a-little?
The weight increase of 50 grams is already putting me off. Not sure if I will get this one. Maybe if they release one with new ZoomX in it and only if it is not as heavy.
For daily training, my favs were Turbo 2 until I got Zoom Fly 3 which I liked until I got Tempo Next% ;) My biggest issue with Turbo 2 was that it lacked cushioning for longer rides. Zoom Fly 3 was much better for that but Tempo Next is just next level for fast runs. I own about 30 pairs from various brands but I tend to prefer Nike shoes somehow. Now I must resist buying more colorways ;p

@@kyky9246I think most people would recommend something like Pegasus 38 since they are versatile and relatively affordable. I've not tried them. Something like Reebok floatride energy 4 would be good too. Most youtubers (shoe reviewers) have a yearly top 10 everyday running shoe so you can google that. Once you have an everyday shoe, eventually, you might want to buy more specialized shoes : one for tempo runs, one for long runs, one for easy runs, one for race day, etc. They call it a shoe rotation. It's also great to prevent injuries. It's also a matter of running gait and preference ...

The Nike Zoom Fly 3's were my all time favourite. My first step into the carbon plated shoes and one of my favourite designs also. Got 500kms in them.
Ordered the black version to try! Just have to after the turbo 2, even if it’s not a race shoe
It’s still a solid shoe.. most will enjoy it. Just doesn’t have the magic of 2!
I had the original Pegasus 35 Turbo but I got the Zoomfly 3 instead the Turbo 2 .I regret that decision.
The best shoe I ever had from Nike was the Pegasus 36 and maybe the best shoe I ever had for running fast was the Adidas Adizero Adios 4 .
fave shoe all time, Endorphin speed 2, PR in all distance!
Cheers for the review Ben. I do not do many miles on the road mainly sticking to trail for 90% of my runs living in St Ives. I cannot see the advantage of the turbo over the everyday peg other than buying for environmental impact reasons.
Yes. The current peg 39 over delivered really, great shoe and much cheaper. Enjoy those south west trails!! Beautiful area to run
Peg turbo 1 was my favorite of all time.
I’ve moved on to the Novablast which I enjoy a lot (going through the third pair) - but it’s not the same 😅
Tempo Next is my greatest shoe of all time! Have 2, looking forward to buy a new one
Tbh I miss the Pegasus 31. It was my fav of all time. Never been the same ever since to me.
Got this shoe last year at an outlet mall for about $50/£40. For this price I think it is good value.
For me it’s out of 2day daily trainer shoes.. too weight, less bouncy..it’s an amazing sneaker
Dicks has/had a flash sale today and I got them for $72 USD. I think even though the shoe doesn’t live up to the others, for this price I just had to
Thanks Ben. QD: GSOAT ? Nike lunarglide 6. ❤️
Got them a few days ago also. It’s clear Nike reenforced it (the version 2 did break easily). But I was disappointed of all the extra weight and the sole not being a true zoomX
What I need in the 3 is the Peg Turbo 2 with some heel support (like you mentioned) to prevent slippage and thicker full new zoom x in. Tq
Adidas adios 3 loved them runners
The Invincible is now a classic
I'm also in the Peg Turbo 2 fan club. This doesn't sound like something I want. I wish I did!
Adidas boost 2 was my all time favourite shoe
I'd go for the NB Fuelcell Rebel over this. My greatest running shoe of all time is the Fuelcell Rebel Version 1, closely followed by Rebel V2, but the Nike Next %2 is up there!!!!
I'd love to see a Nike comparaison ! It would help me for my next purchase
That’s not really a Turbo 1 / 2, which was my all time favourite, but i’m over that now cos i have the Invincible’s.
Can we say that the cushioning in this show is less effective than the turbo 2 in the end?
Peg Turbo 2 is one of my fav too👍👍
Are there ANY nike shoes that replicate the ride of the Lunaracer or Lunartempo? I've run in lunars for 10+ years and can't get on with anything else since they have been discontinued. I'm a forefoot runner and have almost flat feet. Anything with an arch hurts my feet and anything even slightly elevated hurts me too. So anything carbon is out. Can anyone help??
I was considering sizing down since they do seem a-little long for me.
I could only get away with it with a slim sock if I were to.
Would you say the eventually there’s any give in the upper loosen up and stretch out even a-little?
Are they the NIKE PEGASUS TURBO next nature good for hiking ?
The weight increase of 50 grams is already putting me off.
Not sure if I will get this one.
Maybe if they release one with new ZoomX in it and only if it is not as heavy.
That would be great to see!! Or just release v2 again so everyone can stock up!
Would you say that because elf the change in firmness it would be equivalent to a daily trainer like the Saucony ride 13?
Believe it or not, it's by far the adidas prime x and I'm also looking forward (with a pitstop in Amsterdam) to Valencia. Maybe see you Valencia
Good luck at your two marathons!!
Hello to you ! sorry to bother you but I would like to start running and I can't decide which pair of shoes is really good for someone who wants to run between 3 and 5 times a week and sessions between 2 and 10 km to start. If you can recommend me a pair of shoes that would be nice :-)
Hi Ben...if you had to choose just one shoe would you choose Peg turbo next nature or zoom fly 5?
Found these at a discount at Dicks sporting goods in NY for $59.97 so I thought about trying them instead of the peg 39. Not too bad.
Hi unpopular question, i have bought these nike shoes but after 500m to 1km walk my bottom feet start to hurt is this means i should switch brand ?
