Thats hella cool. Always racing Schumacher buggys, never raced trucks before, but this looks like i am gonna show it to the guys who race them in my club. Are you planning to make a short course mabye? Mabye on the same platform with some little changes. Would be awsome, (at least in my Area) we see a huge trend going on of short course trucks making a big comeback, and i am planning to get myself one. And since i am a huge schumacher fan and race your stuff, it would be amazing.

I think this car is a good product, could be you can consider doing a entry level car based on this car, for begineer people to the hobby.
Please one day rerelease the cougar 2 works.

"could be you can consider doing a entry level car based on this car"
Sadly they're never going to do that. The top-end manufacturers don't really see a point in selling entry level "club racer" versions of their cars because they're marketing to people who are willing to dump thousands into their cars. They also don't want to even touch Traxxas's territory, because that leads to Traxxas trying to choke them to death through patent trolling and dealer bullying.

I'd buy it for under $300. More than $400 is unreasonable. My how the hobby has fallen. I still remember when I got an associated ft B4 for under $200. A b44 for $260 after discount. All carbon fiber.
Production process has become common and cheaper, yet product prices are going up.

There are no entry level kits anymore just greedy companies cashing in. What is their for the new racers and younsters.....Nothing !.
Thats why RC racing is now more for adults.
Schumacher havnt won anything for years either

    • @VestedUTuber

Thing is, the $400+ kits existed back then, too, but you had a choice between the top-end "racing team" kit and the "club racer" kit in most cases. However, manufacturers stopped catering to the little guy because they realized most of the little guys were willing and able to pay for the higher-end kit anyway.

Pretty sure they at least podium'd a recent 1/12th scale on road IFMAR race.
Anyway, that's true they haven't won anything for years, but they do consistently make the A-main (more so than TLR and Associated, anyway) and there's something to be said for that.

@@VestedUTuber Who races 1/12 on road ?....next to nobody . And Im not to sure about what you say about the A main finishes....not on any of the big races they dont. And no 1/8 off road either ( probably wood be £1000 if they did )
My point has been that I'm based in the Uk and I want to buy Schumacher products at least 20% cheaper than the imported items such as AE & TLR because made in britain is not subject to import duty.
Schumacher should be looking after their home country racers but unfortunately they prefer to buy the imports because tbh they are probaly a better finish and materials than what Schumacher are currently using and selling at too high a price.
Just look at the review Razor breaks a front shock tower which is made of fibre glass.....Schumacher were using that crap 25 years ago !

"Who races 1/12 on road ?....next to nobody"
You asked whether Schumacher won anything recently. Claiming that it then doesn't matter is textbook moving the goalposts.
As a side note, if practically no one raced 1/12th scale pan cars, the class would have died off. If anything, with the global move towards carpet tracks the class is actually experiencing a bit of a resurgence.
I do also want to note that we actually have a similar situation here in the US with our local brands. Over here, prices and parts support are almost to the point where there's literally no point in picking one brand over another.
Anyway, I definitely agree that Schumacher (and pretty much everyone else) absolutely need to come down on their prices. But that's never going to happen - most of the hard-core racers don't care how much they spend on a car, so there's no incentive for the racing-level manufacturers to reduce their prices. Even with the loss of demand due to the price hikes, they can just intentionally reduce supply to keep prices up.
I feel like we're going to need to see a full-on racing platform come from the OpenRC guys before this issue can be rectified.
