"Fare Thee Well" - Chuck (Supernatural) 11x20

- A song performed by God (God/ Chuck Shurley/ Carver Edlund). This was taken from a scene in #Supernatural "Don't Call Me Shurley" 11x20. I do not own any rights.
If I had wings like Noah's dove
I'd fly up the river to the one I love
Fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well
I knew a man who was long and tall
He moved his body like a cannon ball
Oh fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well
I remember one night in the drizzlin' rain
Around my heart I felt an achin' pain
Fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well
One of these days it won't be long
You'll call my name and I'll be gone
Fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well
Fare thee well
If there's one thing Supernatural does incredibly well, it's using the right music at the right time for some serious impact
Yeah...mostly. I honestly didn't feel Rock of Ages was right for the ending of season 5. But that's just me..

This is the Chuck everyone wanted, but not the Chuck the writers are giving us.
I say the one in 15 is an evil clone!

Somehow I think he's to overpowered to keep the plot going. Think Superman, they needed kryptonite.
That's my biggest disappointment, to be honest
They ruined everything after this episode, who was a fantastic set-up for an ending that was disappointing and anticlimatic. Then season 12... So disappointing. They jumped the shark :'(
Man, chuck does that “oooooohhhh honey” part of the song with so much emotion. The actors in this show are absolutely incredible. I would say he’s got the voice of an angel, but he kind of made them. So there’s that. Lol
💯💯
True
That's because he is God
Actually Rob Benedict (chuck) is the lead singer in a band Louden Swain.
Smartass
No matter how much Metatron infuriated me, this scene where he looks at God with that expression always makes me emotional. I think he truly did love God.
I wanted Metatron's arc to end so badly, but this episode and the one after made me realize why they kept him around. Curtis Armstrong played his part beautifully.

Might interest you to know that verse is usually omitted or goes "The woman I loved/was long and tall" so I'm pretty sure Supernatural threw it in there for them.
Bro I legit read this comment as he sang it
Don’t you just love how they made this moment with Chuck completely pointless and made him the villain....
Seriously...like you go from this kinda goofy but ultimately loving good guy to a sadistic psycho just got shock value.
@marie lee I don't like the whole chuck plot but I definitely like the ending with Dean's death, finally letting go for good to let Sam live out the life he always wanted since the very beggining
@@abby5779 Do you have any idea how bad of a message that sends to the audience. It says that Dean was just a burden to his brother and he was better off dead. @@BrainInJar Not really. Dean died so many times beforehand. And now that most of their issues were solved, Dean got hurt during a hunt again so he wanted to finally let go for good. It isn't that deep

I agree also my favorite part in the whole 13 season series!!!!!!!? Flawless
I think 300 tops it. Cried.
Season 11 is where the show ended for me. God and Amara made up and flew into the cosmos. Dean and Mary drove back home to the bunker. Sam and Cas sitting together inside the bunker, pondering about the person they've both lose; for Sam, his one and only older brother, and for Cas, his one and only best friend. Until they both hear the bunker door open, and in comes Dean and Mary. Dean and Mary smile contently at both of them from above; they both smile back, although a little confused, still with as much content. The show ends.
No british lady of letters, Lucifer was destroyed, not pulled out of Cas, and Crowley and Rowena went their separate ways.
YES!!! THANK YOU!!! I've been saying the same thing for years now. Ever since the end of season 11 actually.

Chuck: *Doesn't answer any prayers even when the Apocalypse is on it's way and he is really needed* *Finally reveals himself as God to Sam and Dean* "We should probably talk!"

Daisy Fae that was my reaction when he said “we should probably talk”
Granted the Season 5 finale did make it clear that he knew the whole time that Sam and Dean would win and he gave them help when they needed it, but he didn't want to just do it for them because that would get in the way of free will. He took an active role in Season 11 because he felt personally responsible for what was happening.
Like he said in his autobiography, "Why I don't answer prayers, and you should be glad I don't."
It's not supposed to be an easy fix, even him showing himself wasn't easy.

I think it is very symbolic: "When we think it's all over, God is closest to us."
When God sings a song at open mic, and doesn't get an applause.

This part really makes me feel like dean and Sam were finally given what they always needed. I always believed they thought god had forsaken them and to see that in this time of great need they were finally met with open arms... it really makes me think they are renewed with a new hope for their mission and this earth, because after everything... god is actually on their side.

Holmberg Georgia I'm also an atheist but I'd pledge my loyalty to chuck without hesitation.
I'm an atheist too, but if there was a version of God that I wanted to believe in or even could believe in, it would be Chuck. A God who admits he isn't perfect and doesn't always know what to do, but tries his best to be a good parent to his Children. Who doesn't intervene, not because he doesn't care, but because he wants us to be able to take care of ourselves. Sounds much more reasonable than just constantly spouting "He works in mysterious ways" every time a tragedy occurs.

Thanks, Rob, for wonderful performance
Making God (Chuck) the bad guy was the shows biggest mistake....there was so much potential. This season's ending was the one that made me tear up. It confirmed what we suspected since the beginning, that Chuck WAS God, and when Sam's pendant started glowing.....wow. and that final line "we should probably talk".....just wow
I always assumed that it might have had something to do with him joining with Amara. Kind of like how anyone who had the mark that kept her trapped was eventually corrupted by it. Might have had nothing to do with that but it made me feel better that there was an explanation for turning a good character like Chuck into the evil bag of dicks that he became. I mean sure he let Sam and Dean go thru a lot of messed up stuff but that could be explained by the fact that he had given the individuals in his creation free will and that meant he had to let things play out according to the choices that everyone made with as little interference as possible rather than the explanation they give that he did it just for his own amusement cuz he enjoyed watching them suffer trying to "write" the perfect story. The only part that doesn't make sense for that explanation is that Amara herself wasn't evil, especially at the end, so why would joining with her make Chuck that way? But then again, why would anyone who had the mark become corrupted by it as well? And does that mean Amara is corrupted by it or the source of that corruption since the mark either came from her or was transferred to get when she was freed? The writers were pretty good at tying up loose ends and this show but I guess they couldn't always be perfect and it is fiction obviously so you do have to suspend some belief. But I was sad to see God (Chuck) turn evil so quickly the Amara situation was dealt with but I guess he had to or there would never have been another issue they couldn't easily deal with having his help unless they had made Jack evil instead and they needed God's help to deal with him. But that would have left out the chance to develop Jack's character and get the audience to care about him or his arc.
Not only do I agree, but I honestly think they could literally make a remake, what about the chuck that died, was in fact a demon created by Lucifer and the real chuck, comes back! This version of chuck and he could bring all the old characters back lol

The very best moment of the entire series happens in this clip. It's at about 2:10, where the officer comes back to life, and she sees that her husband is okay too. You may recall Amara forced her to kill her husband, just to be cruel ... so when she sees he's been restored, that is probably the only thing that matters to her.
I want this song playing at my funeral 😂
And now we have to say Fare thee well to supernatural
God singing is the best
There's chills running up my spine I can't believe a show that's been part of my life for so long, it's ending... It's rare that shows like this come along in your lifetime where it actually affects you personally, I thank God-Chuck- lol that I got to be a part of it ♥️
Still come back to this video for this song after all these years.
This is what gonna play over and over when supernatural ends in 2020
Hearing about supernatural ending somehow brought me back to this song. Fare thee well fellow hunters!
Supernatural is my number one favorite and I was so upset when they ended it. Everyone played their parts wonderfully. Sam and dean are my loves. I really hope they come back soon. I miss them terribly 😭
If only we got to keep this chuck but i have a theory i think after his universal trip with amara at the end of season 11 i think he oficially remembered who he was and how he was when he was on earth he believed himself to be Chuck but after his trip with his sister he believed himself to be god again that could explain the drastic change in his character
