Solid Snake beat Sam Fisher and now Raiden beats Wolverine. Metal Gear is just beast.
To be fair Sam was just a peak human he doesn't compare to a nanotech boosted Snake

You know, I'm usually left feeling at least a little salty when a character I like loses in a Death Battle, but this one I'm totally fine with. I feel they did both characters justice in the fight, and since Raiden has a weapon that can cut through Adamantium, it makes sense that he would win. If Wolverine didn't know about High-Frequencies Swords, he'd probably let down his guard enough for Raiden to get in a kill blow, and even Raiden's complete and utter destruction of his enemies with the Zandatsu works for him in this scenario because it means that he probably wouldn't leave anything to chance and not give Wolverine the chance to regenerate from something most people would think could kill him.
It was really cool seeing you learn a bit about Raiden. He's a very cool character and this death battle was nice refresher on who he is. I love these because of the history they can teach you about a character. I'm surprised they didn't mention any of Logan's samurai influence. Anyway, this was a great fight for real. The animation was on point.
Yea I noticed they left out a lot of the different organizations Logan has been to due to him never finding a home until the Xmen. The CIA, Alpha Flight, becoming a Samurai of course, and a ninja lol.

I'm not that salty about this fight, but they left out one thing.
The Xavier Protocols. A listing made by Charles Xavier explaining how to handle the most dangerous mutants on the planet if they turned evil.
He very specifically states his only plan for Wolverine was to "Cut off his head and keep it in a place separate from his body, but I'm not sure even that would do it."
And no, his healing factor isn't in his brain. It's caused by his body being in a constant state of mutation.

Salt and Pepper Deadpool as a better healing factor because Wolverine's is also fighting off blood poisoning from the adamantium coating his bones.

I think that's about right considering the power of a HF blade like the Muramasa. At the end of the day, Adamantium is just a metal, and high frequency blades are pretty much marketed as being able to cut through anything. It should be noted that the Muramasa isn't Jack's starting weapon, nor is it really his trademark, it's a sword you get for the last bit of the game, pretty much just to give you the last little push you need to win the final battle.

I've seen plenty of reactions, and I'm just glad I finally stumbled over one where the person watching knew EXACTLY who was next just in the first couple of seconds. Granted I was more like, "No... You're seriously not going to use HIM of all people!?" but I'm glad that you were happy that it was Hercule.

Wolverine vs Raiden is one of my favorite Death Battles along side Superman vs. Goku 1, and Deadpool vs. Deathstroke.

This Raiden is from Metal Gear Rising. You can play the game on the 360, PS3, and PC. It's one of my favorite action games. Even though it's not that long, I think you'll get a kick out of MGR. Although I'd recommend getting it on 360 or PC if you want to do a let's play of it. PS3 can be hard to record with its HDCP.

Man, Metal Gear: Revengance has some epic fucking moments in it. The first time when the rock music kicks in against the first Metal Gear... man, blew my fucking mind.

I agree. This is one of their best death battle fights. Another great one was Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. Both fights having Metal Gear Solid characters and both of them animated by the same guy, I believe.
I think all the 3D ones are animated by one man. And the sprite ones are animated by another person.
The hint is in the description of the characters. Wolverine has lost many times, but survived due to rapid healing. Then he got revenge. But, in Raiden's case, he never lost the battle. He won. He fucking blasted those fools. He didn't even let them heal. The same with Wolverine. He fucking over killed him. He went on all out rampage and just sliced and diced Wolverine like it was nothing.
once they listed and talked about raiden's abilities i was like, "yeah, wolverine is fucked".

Being a fan of X Men and Metal Gear, any Logan fanboy should have seen this coming. Raiden would have won even if his nanomachines weren't turned off and he didn't go into ripper mode.
Actually, in the movie where Wolverine was in Japan, a high frequency energy blade was used to chop off his claws. So, no shit. This was a mismatch, with the "Bullet Time, Hiten Mitsurugi style" being OP.

And for you asking, this originates back to the original like 1980 Metal Gear games. We had Metal Gear, then Metal Gear Solid, the story that follows Raiden continues into a new series Metal Gear Rising. Great game, pretty much defines the definition of Badass in the very first mission. Play it for yourself and see.

This fight and the Deadpool one are probably the bests fights which DeathBattle have made. It was pretty even and no 1 sided bullshit. This fight could've went either way which gave the ending of who won much more impact. Love it!

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is a spin off game. it's mostly action with some lackluster stealth parts (in my opinion) but the over-the-top action is *AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!*

Hercule is probably going to fight Dan Hibiki from Street Fighter. They brought up the possibility a long time ago, and the ones Death Battle brings up usually end up being made.
Interestingly enough (interesting for my fellow nerds mind) is that his current backstory is a retcon.
In the original Wolverine Weapon X comic he was just a policeman with a temper and a mild healing factor. The Weapon X Program was all about boosting his healing factor, so they can do the whole indestructible bones, claws malarkey.
It's funny that no matter how much screwattack tries to explain why their favorite character lost, the Wolverine fanboys simply pretend they didn't hear any of the deliberation and just cry in the comments section. They probably just skip to the fight ignoring everything else, not having any idea that Raiden is actually the strongest and most powerful man in his universe.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is the name of the game. It's similar to Devil May Cry in that it is a hack and slash video game only instead of demons, you are fighting cyborgs, robots, and super humans. Oh and there is a robotic wolf that has a chainsaw for a tail.... he's Raiden's pet.

it was a temporary victory. according to the X-men comics if a single cell in Logan's brain survives he can come back. unless he chooses to die. yes Wolverine can choose to live or die (if his body takes a serious beating) Logan enters this comma like state where his life signs are almost nonexistent in this state he is visited by the phoenix who asks if he's ready to go. so far his answer is no. when he comes too his body is already repairing itself and old wolvie is up kicking ass with a normal skeleton in a few minutes.
