WHILE some people took advantage of the pandemic and 2020 to reduce, if not stop, their makeup routine, for 25-year-old Jordan it was the chance to perfect her deathcore makeup look. The tattoo artist, who has extensive tattoos on her arms, chest, neck, plus seven on her face, has worn predominantly black clothes since she was a teenager. But it was only during the first lockdown that her striking makeup look evolved. Jordan started experimenting with heavy black and white makeup, going out with her full face on almost every day. So how would Jordan feel getting her makeup done by an Instagram-influenced makeup artist? And swapping out her alternative clothing and piercings for a girl next door makeunder? Shocked by her final transformation, Jordan said: “It was interesting and fun to see me like this but do I like it for myself? No. It made me realise that I’m pretty happy with the way that I look, that I don’t want to change for anybody.”

The wigs and the outfits for these transformations definitely need an upgrade based on the videos I’ve seen so far! They’ve made the models look like caricatures in the end. Better quality wigs and outfits would definitely take this show to a whole new level! But it’s still so dope! I’m binging this morning lol! ❤️

I think her posture stands out more since it's not hidden behind layers of baggy clothes. Shes definitely an introvert & her face is revealed after always keeping her identity hidden with tons of white/black makeup & she probably feels naked not having all her layers of clothing she hid under😊
when you dress to hide all the time of course its gonne feel vunerable without all that. They could have compromised

I would never thought there would be an awkward girl underneath all that darkness. Very talented Artist. I think you should try out for special effects make-up work in Hollywood if you haven’t already.

Yup. These people are literally being airbrushed out of their comfort zones 😅 It would be interesting to see it go the other way too, but I imagine that's even more work than these transformations

She's a really beautiful young woman & I do love her style. I think the makeup is very well done, and if she wanted, she could incorporate it from time to time, and still have her darker aesthetic. The clothes they put her in are so boring. I think everyone should be free to be themselves without being judged.

It has got to be exhausting putting on a costume everyday. This style is not cheap. Very expensive clothing. Wonder what these people do for a job to be able to afford such expensive clothing. How do they keep up with it? I'd be broke in the first few months trying to keep up with dressing that way. Perhaps it is unique or makes you wonder what are they hiding under the mask/costume? Good for her for being able to afford it and dedicating the time to dress up everyday in that way. Looks exhausting to keep up apperence. Imagine if you let someone see you out of costume.

The wig was a really good one, they normally use cheap ones but I'd have used a darker one or a warmer one for her, the blonde washed her out a bit. She looks way happier with her normal look so she should definitely keep dressing as she likes

the classic beauty look is actually nice and relatively natural, unlike most of that kind makeovers that are just awful plastic barbie dolls. but her own dark style is pure art, one of the best i've ever seen and so genuine :)

She's so pretty without the dark makeup 😮 I wouldn't say give up the death metal x goth look, but she could totally pull off dialing it down a ton. Or mixing it with a more preppy vibe. I adore whimsigoth and wish I had the ability to do it myself!!
What's stopping you? If it's financial stuff, the best thing about goth/emo/punk fashion is you can absolutely do some pretty easy DIY stuff and save a ton of money while also spitting in the face of corporations charging ridiculous amounts of money for stuff

Everyone showers & starts from scratch. How they consistently expect us to believe the people are so shocked is baffling to me.
It's not bc they take a shower & start from scratch🙄. It's changing what a person does AFTER the shower & their daily look & try a look that is the total opposite of what they're use to. I won't use this girl as an example but maybe there's a woman who throws a baseball cap on daily & would never wear a dress, heels, nails, jewelry & loves her casual look etc.... After the makeover she, her family/friends, co-workers etc... are shocked with the after look.

she doesn’t start out without a full body of tattoos though so to see that has to be shocking
But it's also the whole style: blond hair, clothes. The 'normie' look. Even when they see her without all the facial make up or when she's cozy in sweatpants, the blond girl style is so much different.
What gets people is the drastic change they face. The hair was definitely one of those, but going from tats everywhere, and a normalish face, to a natural face, no tats, and different hair is like going home in an f150 and waking up to a smart car. She may be used to seeing her self without all of the makeup, but not tats, and not blonde. She may also be insecure about her looks, and think she is ugly without all the Gothic makeup. Which is only exacerbated by seeing herself with out the tattoos.

There seems to be a reacuring eyebrow mishap going on in this show , in my humble opinion , freelance makeup artists , most of them work on clients with eyebrows , they are not used to the technique of drawing them on from scratch , it takes practise , its also a very personal part of the makeup for the client , i know this because for years I shaved my eyebrows off and only ever did them myself because i knew how to personalise them for me , she does look beautiful, perhaps the makeup artists could use temperorary tattoo eyebrows just for the transformation? 😊

On one hand l understand the goth personality. Everyone is free to express themselves how they wish. The problem l find, though, is that it seems that the whole goth look and personality is used as a way to mask insecurities. If you are goth, great, but dont let it be a mask to hide yourself. Everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin, and she is gorgeous. Maybe not drop dead, but gorgeous none the less. It was very obvious with her posture she was uncomfortable being natural. It seems like this happens more often with women too, you could see how good her posture was in goth, stood naturally, comfortably, chest out. While she was natural, head craned down, shoulders up, bent over, keeping her chest back. She needs to learn to like herself for who she is, to put on the makeup and show the world, rather than putting on the mask. Im guessing she was bullied growing up, l hope I'm wrong, but the way she talked about being intimidating tells me that she was bullied for how she looked, and put the goth mask on, to intimidate others to stay away. I really hope that is the wrong guess, but that is my guess. Also, she is either really midwestern, or really Canadian.

In her original Death-Metal look, she is very androgynous or even masculine. I think she would look better to me if she still let her femininity out. In the transformed “Girl-next-door”, she looks the roll and you can see that she has really pretty features. I think if she could do Pretty-death-Metal where she had the tattoos, black make-up but applied it to look pretty with a bit of the dripping black blood would look really cool.
This is dark. People accuse me of looking dark because I prefer conservative colours but this is another level.

IF I can be permitted to wonder aloud a few questions:
I do wonder what the tattoos and piercings are about, emotionally, spiritually?
What happened at what age to reject appearing like a traditional human being?
Some of the goth outfits on this channel are very creative and high art yet the same thing with the pupils altered, white pancake, the same cheek dimple piercing, septum piercing, etc
as if it is a trend? Yet maybe there is something about the mouth and cheek they feel needs that hardware?
Their family and friends and the models themselves seem like nice people. Yet it seems like there is pain and sorrow.
You know what really takes courage? Looking like your real ordinary self with no art on one's face or hands to distract strangers. It takes courage to have imperfect skin and other flaws, to
be unremarkable. If the models here have courage to look remarkable, if they wanted to, they could take it to the next level an appear as they were born to look.
So you aren't asking questions then. You're just trying to weasel your judgement into the conversation.

First impression: I prefer her goth look. It looks more authentic to her. I love her makeover, but I'm not a huge fan of the wig or the jeans. I think she could have been dressed in a more flattering outfit, and a different wig would also be a big improvement.
