I have two canaries sitting on eggs right now. This is the FIRST TIME I have tried to raise some chicks. I'm very excited! One hen has three eggs and one has Five.I did not use the fake eggs (but I was going to) because I noticed that both hens really didn't start sitting tight on their nest until they were finished laying. So, in theory, they should all hatch out at the same time. I hope... but next time I will try out using the fake eggs. Its makes good sense to me......I already purchased them so I'm ready.....I have just retired from my job and set up a bird room very similar to yours in the video.I started with canaries because I remember as a little boy my Grandparents had them and they bring back some very nice memories....But this year I would also like to try some finch. I have not decided which kind. They are so beautiful! This will be a lot of fun for me....Thank you so much for your video. I learned a lot from watching it......Steve Las Vegas, Nevada

Hi, You can lay the eggs under the other hen that is no problem but if the hen has already got eggs of her own than you have to keep in mind that all the eggs have to be the age if that is not the case than the young chicks will be to be big and tou litle ones will not get any food and die. Male canaries usually sing more during the breeding season (season depends on where u live). For example, in New Zealand it is in January-February. My canaries usually sing in those months, and don't sing as much throughout the rest of the year. Canaries also sing more often when they are happy and healthy, and will normally stop singing during their molting period which is when they shed feathers and grow new ones. (This is just my experience from owning canaries). Hope this helps!

omg the part the guy opened the cage the behind part of where the nest was the cage was open the birds had the chance to excape u........run away little birds.....LOL

+uzi Pets I gave them small pieces of yarn. cut up small like a half inch long. they went crazy! built their nest in 30 Minutes. then they tore it up 3 TIMES, rebuilt it, and then finally the first egg was laid.....So much fun to watch this!

He takes the eggs and put in the nest fake eggs. When the female has the last egg, he puts it back, he does that so every little bird inside the egg can grow at the same time with his brother and sister ;)

Congratulations Now, I have a question for you, I have some budgies n they are laying eggs already but I have one of them that because some baby budgies were born before n some other ones was like a week a part or a little more ,she kept feeding the big ones n the last ones didn't get fed n died . I did try to hand feed one of them n I kept it real warm but it still passed away. Can I do what u are doing removing the eggs as she laid them and when she gets done with the last one put them all together ??? Just go to a local petshop they will have good food for your canary.

You can hold the egg in a bright light and see if there is a baby canary in it.

I have several pairs of Fife canaries. Do you have times where you get infertile eggs. It is frustrating. I have had success but no good eggs lately.

It's obvious that he sell them. The cages are small and awful. There are not canaries toy.
