Its from Never Back Down. That's Cam Gigandet (who also plays James in Twilight). He has a black belt in Krav Maga, which may be why he pwned the capoeira man... This was obviously filmed by a member of the crew/crowd on set. Thanks for uploading it, Bloody Hilarious! XDS
In real life, you should never let an opponent know what style you know, what moves or any more information than you need to give. This guy is giving his resume of moves before he even starts fighting!
I did read. All of it. Especially the part where he threw in "but i practice Capoeira nd i aint stupid enough to show off instead off keep my guard up" which tells me that he thinks very highly of his fighting style. Enough to think that if one knows it, and practices it, and isn't "Stupid enough" then they would NEVER get hit like that.
Yea i agree with alot of people no style is better than the other it strictly depends on the fighter and besides this is a movie which was choreographed so stop being ignorant.
This kind of thing happens a lot when you play as Eddy Gordo in Tekken and you don't know what the hell you're doing. You'll just be sitting there flipping around and someone will sucker punch you in the face.
capoeira is more than just 'fighting' or 'kicking ass'. Its an art, it involves music, comaradery with your partner. It has a lot of history. It is never about showing off or kicking someones butt. It is more than that. Now a day they have tried to turn it into what u just saw. It is a waste of energy in this form...but true capoeristas dont do that stupid show off. They have discipline and see it differently. ITs one of the hardest martial arts. Please dont comment on what you dont know.
This clip may not be real, but I've seen similar things at the Brazilian day parade in NYC, where there are always people breaking out into a rhoda on the street. Some of those dudes have massive egos, which leads to a combative rhoda instead of a playful one, and if they're all boast and no bite, they get an ass beating out in public on a New York City street. Capoeira isn't equipped for MMA or streetfights, but it's a hell of a great workout.
@mynameiskuwis hmmm do you actually do Capoeira? I have practiced it and it is somewhat predictable in that it is a dance and usually the two dancers are not trying so much to hurt each other. I have practiced several martial arts and Capoeira has value for many reasons, but it is not the most effective in a real fight.
yes indeed, if your opponent is going to stand there and let you spin around in a circle to gain momentum (how the force is multiplied), & you have enough room to do so. However, when some guy at the bar is already one inch from your face I would rather be skilled in Jiujitsu.A baseball bat does more damage than a choke hold, but not in the range where most fights will be after a short initial sparring: on the ground. Esp. if the person you are fighting *wants* to go to the ground.
While the fight may not be real, this is a definite illustration of how even the basics have use -- basics like knowing how to hold your fist in space so that your opponent slams into it on their own accord. Hilarity.
Yeah I keep hearing that Routesamuel, but for some reason these mysterious people who can use capoeira for real fighting always stay in the shadows, lol.
This is why you should just nail the opponent instead of use needlessly flashy, complex and easy to counter (as long as you don't panic or something, as demonstrated) moves.
I disagree, I admit, I am not so experienced as you and I know, I don't have any MA vids on my profile (some guy earlier used it as a sucker punch), although I respect you and your opinion, capoeira is as good martial art as any, it is not a problem of the art, but of the fighter. Fights can't be win only because the MA person does, but in experience and understanding of the art you do, not forget to mention small factors like luck and (not often seen) 1st punch.
thats why this is proof that fancy stuff wont work in a fight. just stick to simple yet effective techniques to win fights. Fancy stuff will just get even the best killed ,coz its very easy to read and waste lots of energy/stamina which is the very very essential when in a life threathening situation.u need to conserve as much stamina in a fight as to hurt ur opponent, not to let ur opponent hurt u by using fancy stuff.
Its from a movie? The shakiness of the camera made me think it was camcorder footage of a real compitition (a bad one, but still). The whole movie isnt filmed like that, is it?
This one "was" funny, until I saw movie from what it is ripped! Hilarious, but sadly, not true. Movie was never back down, or something like that. Nevertheless, this was one of best "funny-videos"!!!:)
@italianmatt16 You should like it. I think it has some of the best MMA choreography out there to date, and this movie has been around for alittle while, now that is a feat.
I'm agree with MiYaViMocoChang it's stuipid to Au directly, that move is for a scape from the attack, not to attack. Also this is a scene from a movie or something. I'm from Mexico city and I have been training capoeira almost a year and it's more than dance, accrobatics and punches. So, please do your homework, that was for those that made a comment without knowing!. Each martial art is good in a lot of ways.
That is the best and most deserved knock out I think I have ever seen. Thanks for posting that.
i rode my bike over to this kid's house i was supposed to fight but he had just gotten a nintendo 64, so we played goldeneye instead

Perfect demonstration of the combat effectiveness of Capoiera. Whoever heard of a non-contact martial art?
Lol that just made my day! OWNED!
one word:
!!!!!!!!OWNED!!!!!!!!
I agree. Its one thing to say you know a style but a completely different story if you don't know your basics.
i love this film, i need 2 buy the DVD soon. I just wanna know how someone got this video angle! Probably an extra who filmed on their phone.
I could watch this over and over.
This isn't real, guys. It's from a movie called "Breakfast At Tiffany's".
actually the movie "Never Back Down" was based on a bunch of fighting videos and legends, this clip being one of the inspirations.
Never Back Down, great movie :>
This is freaking awesome hands down.
Just one of the reasons why I love You Tube over TV!!!
no, the film's "never back down"
gd lesson though, keep the fancy moves out of the ring
LOLOLOLOL! Timing is EVERYTHING! LOL
Sure thing little boy. I bow to your incredible knowledge. You obviously know everything there is to know about who's who and what's what. *applause*
i agree no style is better than the other it just depends on who uses it.

ahhaa ha ha ha usually stuff on youtube don't make me properly laugh but this did :D
Yea i agree with alot of people no style is better than the other it strictly depends on the fighter and besides this is a movie which was choreographed so stop being ignorant.
This is from a movie, but I find it pretty impressive how it looks like real life.
This kind of thing happens a lot when you play as Eddy Gordo in Tekken and you don't know what the hell you're doing. You'll just be sitting there flipping around and someone will sucker punch you in the face.
... THIS IS THE MOVIE NEVER BACK DOWN.
@Blastrix1 No, Never Back Down didn't copy it, they are the original ones. The guy that punches is the antagonist in Never Back Down.
As they said before.. it's a movie, "never back down" actually a really good one to :D
which movie?

"Superman Punch! OOOHHHHHHHHH It is all over!!"
Show fighting versus Real fighting. Classic.

OMG this is awesome! XD
The guy truly is a show-off :P
He knows Capoeira but can't use it in a real combat, what a pity :P
That wasn't a sucker punch or a cheap shot, he just knew what to do
Movie: Never back down! I love that movie

Impressive moves there, before the.. lol, who didn't see that coming? :P
That's why you NEVER show off during a match.
That was SWEET!
Saw this on Gregory Solis's page. This is what would happen if a Hollywood martial artist went up against an MMA fighter.
While the fight may not be real, this is a definite illustration of how even the basics have use -- basics like knowing how to hold your fist in space so that your opponent slams into it on their own accord.
Hilarity.
he danced all the way till he blacked out from that punch looooooool
it is indeed from 'never back down' but it seems like it was recorded inside the sudio from one of the spectators :P
Whether it may be a movie, at least that could happen when you do that moves! lol
OWNED!!!!!!!!
Yeah I keep hearing that Routesamuel, but for some reason these mysterious people who can use capoeira for real fighting always stay in the shadows, lol.
the blond guy, he is really a trained expert in Krav-Maga, which is one of the most effective techniques in self deffense
This is why you should just nail the opponent instead of use needlessly flashy, complex and easy to counter (as long as you don't panic or something, as demonstrated) moves.

First rule in capoeira: Never take your eyes off your opponent. But I have to admit this is really funny. It's a shame though...
thats why this is proof that fancy stuff wont work in a fight.
just stick to simple yet effective techniques to win fights. He's got some good moves like Eddie from Tekken
This isn't real guys, it's a clip from the film "Gone With the Wind"

NEVER BACK DOWN!!
*Punch!*
"Showoff!"
Servers him soooooooo right... That teaches you not to flash out
The fight had officially started and the other fighter was playing around. It wasn't a sucker punch, it was completely legitimate.
real or not, good example why patients is so important in these fights
lol yes it does. Capoeira is an art.

Nevertheless, this was one of best "funny-videos"!!!:)
i like it "BAM"
This reminds me of the scene in Raiders Of the Lost Ark. The saber master challenges Indy and he just shoots him with his pistol. lol
NEVER BACK DOWN
they should call him mario cause he just got 1-UP'D
capoeira was disguised as a dance because it was made by slaves. And it is not the worst style of fighting.
lol i remember that part from the movie. very entertaining lollll
it originated in brazil........the dance taught the young how to fight.
this is a movie never back down
@italianmatt16 You should like it. I think it has some of the best MMA choreography out there to date, and this movie has been around for alittle while, now that is a feat.
never back dowm best movie ever
