    This is why you should just nail the opponent instead of use needlessly flashy, complex and easy to counter (as long as you don't panic or something, as demonstrated) moves.

    You do realize real or not, it exemplifies that the most simple and boring technique is usually the best. I believe Bruce Lee said something along the lines, I don't fear the man that practiced 1000 different kicks, but one kick, 1000 times...

    thats why this is proof that fancy stuff wont work in a fight.
    just stick to simple yet effective techniques to win fights. Fancy stuff will just get even the best killed ,coz its very easy to read and waste lots of energy/stamina which is the very very essential when in a life threathening situation.u need to conserve as much stamina in a fight as to hurt ur opponent,not to let ur opponent hurt u by using fancy stuff.

  • @XxOffTonexX
    @XxOffTonexX 14 років тому

    Lmao!!, first of all in Capoeira your not going to cartwheel up to someone like that without seeing where they are and definitely not straight up like that, and that "breakdance bullshit" actually does work, he was just rallying the crowd, but the flip moves are good escapes and kicks, and a cartwheel is used as an evasive move not as a "here I come" move. LMAO it was funny to watch though

  • @b3hr057
    @b3hr057 14 років тому

    yes indeed, if your opponent is going to stand there and let you spin around in a circle to gain momentum (how the force is multiplied), & you have enough room to do so. However, when some guy at the bar is already one inch from your face I would rather be skilled in Jiujitsu.A baseball bat does more damage than a choke hold, but not in the range where most fights will be after a short initial sparring: on the ground. Esp. if the person you are fighting *wants* to go to the ground.

  • @GozerTheGozerian

    This clip may not be real, but I've seen similar things at the Brazilian day parade in NYC, where there are always people breaking out into a rhoda on the street.
    Some of those dudes have massive egos, which leads to a combative rhoda instead of a playful one, and if they're all boast and no bite, they get an ass beating out in public on a New York City street.
    Capoeira isn't equipped for MMA or streetfights, but it's a hell of a great workout.

  • @janesita1

    capoeira is more than just 'fighting' or 'kicking ass'. Its an art, it involves music, comaradery with your partner. It has a lot of history. It is never about showing off or kicking someones butt. It is more than that. Now a day they have tried to turn it into what u just saw. It is a waste of energy in this form...but true capoeristas dont do that stupid show off. They have discipline and see it differently. ITs one of the hardest martial arts. Please dont comment on what you dont know.

  • @ranalanis
    @ranalanis 15 років тому

    I'm agree with MiYaViMocoChang it's stuipid to Au directly, that move is for a scape from the attack, not to attack. Also this is a scene from a movie or something. I'm from Mexico city and I have been training capoeira almost a year and it's more than dance, accrobatics and punches. So, please do your homework, that was for those that made a comment without knowing!. Each martial art is good in a lot of ways.

  • @Toneai2007
    @Toneai2007 16 років тому

    I disagree, I admit, I am not so experienced as you and I know, I don't have any MA vids on my profile (some guy earlier used it as a sucker punch), although I respect you and your opinion, capoeira is as good martial art as any, it is not a problem of the art, but of the fighter. Fights can't be win only because the MA person does, but in experience and understanding of the art you do, not forget to mention small factors like luck and (not often seen) 1st punch.

  • @varkonyimihaly
    @varkonyimihaly 16 років тому

    Rather watch real Capoeira MMA videos. If It was real fight, then that Capoeirista is a really bad fighter. Capoeiristas in a fight never do this: always flipping and chartwheeling, casue it's pointless, even if theyalredy sent their opponent to the ground.
    Here watch some real Capoeira VS. MMA fights:
    -"luta de mestre hulk"
    -"Gatuno MMA 2"
    -"Capoeira MMA" "Me kickin some ass"
    -"Western Canadian Mix Martial art 2007" "Capoeira"
    -Or just typ in Capoeira MMA.

  • @b3hr057
    @b3hr057 14 років тому

    @mynameiskuwis hmmm do you actually do Capoeira? I have practiced it and it is somewhat predictable in that it is a dance and usually the two dancers are not trying so much to hurt each other. I have practiced several martial arts and Capoeira has value for many reasons, but it is not the most effective in a real fight.

  • @rorek90
    @rorek90 15 років тому

    No nezz...all the movements are EXACTLY the same, and if you look closley, you can see the charactors are EXACTLY the same people, they even have the SAME voice over, and the SAME announcer "Affion Crockett"... It's beyond easy to tell his voice is the same, and even easier to tell this is the same clip from the movie.

  • @saltyxx99
    @saltyxx99 15 років тому

    rofl.. a classic (I did Capoeira for a few months)
    Stop these stupid discussations what the best MA would be. Wayne?
    Capoeira isn't meant to hurt people. I like it, because of the fluid movements, and the "playing around" with the opponent
    Of course this is dramatically faked, a real capoerista would NEVER do that.

  • @mypornstarlifedotcom
    @mypornstarlifedotcom 16 років тому

    Funny clip, but it was obviously from a movie.
    You can see the camera at the top of the screen in the last few seconds of the video.
    Plus, a person who just got KTFO doesn't convulse like that.
    Plus Plus... I did 15 seconds of googling and found the trailer from Never back Down and this scene is in it.

  • @BantuBeiraMar
    @BantuBeiraMar 16 років тому

    This is from the Never Back Down movie and you are foolish if you think it is a real fight. What you see on UA-cam with a lost of Capoeira videos is the roda and it is something you wouldn't understand unless you train Capoeira. A MMA guy will shoot for ground & pound in a real fight, a Capoeirista will kick you in the dick and walk away...it is not meant for UFC stuff.

  • @TenouHaruka0
    @TenouHaruka0 14 років тому

    Hahah thats how to NOT use capoeira. not to mention, combat rule #1, don't waste energy! In a real fight, you wouldn't want to be flipping around Eddie Gordo-style because its just going to wear you down. A smart fighter would wait a few minutes for him to get winded and then bring the pain!

  • @drewroxxx
    @drewroxxx 15 років тому

    he wasn't a real capoeria fighter, notice how unbalanced he was and sluggish. It's obvious he knew basic capoeria moves, but was lacking the technique to use them to his advantage. he basically self owned by showing off and not paying attention to his opponent.

  • @max269
    @max269 14 років тому

    Donnie Yen's "Flash Point" has a nice mix of movie martial arts and realism. But you'll have to wait for an hour before the action really starts (Worth it, though).
    "Pit Fighter" (2005) is very similar to NBD, regarding the fights.

    First, as said earlier this is from "Never Back Down" a crappy excuse for a movie based around MMA.

Especially the part where he threw in "but i practice Capoeira nd i aint stupid enough to show off instead off keep my guard up" which tells me that he thinks very highly of his fighting style. Enough to think that if one knows it, and practices it, and isn't "Stupid enough" then they would NEVER get hit like that.

    yeah I hope no one thinks any capoeista would actually do that, and if he did I would have punched him in the face first. Capoeira is just as 'legit' if not more so than other martial arts. I happen to enjoy it better than other because it is heavily based on gracefulness. This makes it one of the most beautiful martial arts while still being 'legit.' And if you really think they can't actually fight, call up my mestre, he'll mess you up. trust me.
