Maybelline Full N Soft is hands down the best mascara I've ever used, SO gorgeous, full, long, lightweight, and it doesn't make my lashes look "crunchy" or "clumpy"; it looks so natural, and yet so much better than my real lashes. Holds the curl really well (I can ugly cry in the non-waterproof and still look like I just applied fresh makeup LOL), lasts all day, but it still cleans off really easily with makeup remover. I got it on sale for $3, I think it's usually $6.
I love Sheer Cover's extra length mascara. It has a very bushy spoole and lasts all day. Sometimes I'll add CK One as the second coat. But Sheer Cover is my favorite. I originally got it in a kit I bought from them. Won't be doing that anymore bc the mineral foundation is only ok. What's your thought on Benefit's push up eye liner?
Wow it really does work, I could see the length immediately transforming on the eye. By the way, a tip for you, if you get mascara on the skin, NEVER wipe it wet, as hard as it is to do, wait a few minutes for it to dry completely and it will easily chip off with a Q-tip.
Kelline Pickett Great tip but don't forget to add that it only works with non-waterproof mascara! I always use waterproof mascara and letting it dry is absolutely horrible because it will not move from your skin and only a heavy makeup remover will clean it! :)
Wait, are you saying the waterproof takes out the curl? I have the hardest time making my lashes stay curled! If that's the case, I'm definitely trying non waterproof.
No he's saying that waterproof DOES help hold the curl, due to it being oil based. If you're still having a hard time holding a curl, have you tried using a curling mascara? Unfortunately, you do have to sacrifice a bit of length because they tend to temporarily shrink the lash a bit, but it gets the job done! Another thing to try is curling your lashes with a heated eyelash curler. Loreal and Sephora make good ones, but you can also try blasting your regular eyelash curler with your hair dryer for a quick second to heat it up. Hope that helps! : )
No, waterproof helps hold curl. Some people use one layer below other mascara but others use just waterproof to keep their curl. Make sure you use a lash curler first though.

No 7 is a separate Boots brand that has existed for many years, but they’ve discontinued Seventeen :( I stocked up on a LOT of Falsifeye HD mascaras when I found some last year, but I’m on my last one now... I hear good things about Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect, so I’m going to give that one a try next!
L'Oréal collagen mascara is the best drugstore brand I've personally ever used! I highly recommend it. I think the color I use is the blackest black. Just a suggestion to anyone in the market. ❤
Not true. Number 17 is just cheaper it isn't named at any age group. No 7 and Seventeen are two different brands that Boots happen to sell. You will not find the mascara in this video if you ask for Number 7.
It thickens and adds tons of volume without getting clumpy, and if you do 2 coats you get plenty of length as well. I'm just as happy with this mascara applied well as I am with, say, the natural Wispies false lashes by Ardell, I'd say you get very close to the same effect.

I've fallen in love with L'Oreal Butterfly mascara. I love everything about it from the formula to the applicator! I get really long, full lashes and it doesn't clump/flake. I will definitely be checking this one out too. Thank you for the recommendation! Mascara is the one cosmetics item I refuse to spend a lot of money on. I've never used a high-end one I've liked!
oh it does clump a little bit (compared to say Cover Girl's professional mascara wich gives no clumps at all, because the product has a thinner consistency), but the finish is great. Lashes look much thicker and longer. I had tried Voluminous mascara and that one clumps waaaay worst.
IME nothing beats Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill STRETCH mascara. Of course, even better than that, is Latisse. After 3 months of nightly application, I actually had to TRIM my eye lashes. I now put it on twice a week to keep up the results, and for the last few years have had probably on average 1-2 people a month ask me what mascara I was using! I just use Clinique mascara, the one they make for the bottom lashes, to give my lashes a little more color. If I go beyond one light coat or use another mascara, I look like I'm wearing ridiculous falsies in the middle of the day. It's a great problem to have! It also helps grow out eye brows, One bottle lasts a year, which is the same cost as three high-end ($30) mascaras. And that's the first year. Now for keep up, one bottle lasts me about two years.

I'm in Canada and my very fav. one used to be Maybelline XL (Waterproof) - it also had the white lengthening fibres at one end. Then they OF COURSE discontinued it (here anyway) - SAs were amazed as it was a best seller. For the longest time I was looking for another one with the fibres at one end and found Voluminous (Waterproof) - more $ than Maybelline but just as good. THEN, in Canada for some stupid reason they discontinued just the Waterproof one?! For me, if it's not waterproof I find it too wet and drags the curl down. Lo and behold the other day I found it on Amazon.ca for a good price.
Try Eyeko. It's waterproof, and once you put it on, it isn't going ANYWHERE. But you have to be really careful, because it's hard to remove, and if you sleep and you didn't get it all off, your eyes burn like crazy the next morning. It's fine as long as you really remove it. (I made the mistake of falling asleep with it still on a few times. Ouch.) It's available at Sephora.
My favourite mascara I've ever tried is literally like $6 where I live (Australia) and it's the Essence lash princess mascara. It honestly does give a false lash effect.
I have lashes just like you, nonexsistent withput mascara.Ive used many high end mascaras however ive found one that blows them all away.The best one ive ever used is Jordanna Best Lash in the black and purple tube. Its only sold at Walgreens and its under$3!! I dont even need falsies any longer, my lashes are that dramatic and gorgeous with this mascara. I start having anxiety attacks thinking about them ever discontinuing it 😬

+Elizabeth Plouskas I haven't had any issues with it. If you got an infection, maybe you scratched your eye and didn't realize it. There's a learning curve to using it. It took me three or four attempts to learn how to use the brush properly. The worst one I used today, was the Faux Lashes by NYX. I saw almost no difference. I wound up putting on a base coat over it and another coat of a different mascara. Maybe the NYX would be a good base for layering other mascaras over it...?
i also love that mascara and i am using it everyday. it was really awesome but there is one problem. it is not removed easily. i use eye rrmover but it takes some time and i have to rub so many times so my eye skin (eyelid) sometimes becomes hurt...and after eye remover,i still have to use cleansing oil..😣i really like it but i dont know if i should repurchase or not..
+김영미 I use the Maybelline mascara too because it's so great, but I agree that it's hard to get off. However, my favorite thing to remove it with is Cetaphil gentle cleanser. It gets rid of the mascara so quickly without me having to rub hard. I just wet my face/eyes, use a pump of Cetaphil, close my eyes and rub it gently around my eyes and lashes, then just rinse off with water and wash the rest of my face with my regular cleanser. I NEVER use eye make up remover because it's so drying and requires you to use cotton which can irritate your eyes and cause premature aging from all the rubbing. If I don't use the Cetaphil cleanser though then I just rub organic coconut oil on my eyes/lashes, dab off the oil/melted makeup very gently with a cotton pad, and then wash my face. Both work really well, but I prefer to use the Cetaphil mainly so I don't get oil everywhere or create a mess. I just integrate it into my face washing routine. You should try it!

Same. However, have you noticed the original, simply “Voluminous” version isn’t staying put as well as it used to do? I’ve upgraded to their L’Oréal “Voluminous Lash Paradise” formula and it’s working better for me. It’s staying put all day ! 👍
I think you should've stopped at 2 coats, the 3rd coat made your lashes looked clumpy. I love the mascara and I do have long lashes that have been thinning out with age I think I will look for this in the shops. Thanks for sharing.

I have been using Ardell beauty brow and lash growth accelerator, and organic cold pressed castor oil on my lashes (look for both on amazon)! My lashes are full and long again after years of having almost half missing! After only a month of use.
I have been using something similar. Castor oil for strength and coconut oil for growth and some vitamin e. They are growing in, slow but steady and the vitamin e is keeping the crows feet at bay. Thank you.
First thing i think of when I see mascara recommendations is not 'wow , it looks amazing' but ' how long before it comes off around my eyes ? A lifetime of every mascara I've been able to lay my hands on and never found one yet that doesn't leave me looking like I've cried for a week. Tubing mascaras ? Spent a fortune on one , Dior actually, for a hot date and the guy leans forward and says...... 'You've got all these weird little black flakes under your eyes'.
Maybeline Falsies mascara in waterpoof black. It's the best waterproof mascara i've found so far. (I do underwater performance work so it's an endless hunt lol)
The most outrageous mascara I ever had was by Adrienne Arpel - it was two parts: a white primer that lengthened my lashes out to Texas and a very nice mascara.
I use Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara and get the same results. It costs about $7 US. I like the waterproof version. Its the only mascara I use these days. You can find it on Jet.com with free shipping =D

The problem I have with essence mascara( and lots of other brands) is my eyelashes curl naturally and touch under my eyes..so many leave a thick line under my eyes where eyelashes have touched. Used to use one from bourgeois that had fibres.. swear that gave u lashes like tarantulas lol. I get good coverage from essence mascara but even waterproof smudges during day.
The mascara that I describe exactly how you described this one for me is the Wet N Wild megalength. It comes in a purple tube both in waterproof C143 and regular C139. It is super black, has the same kind of plastic wand and I can put multiple applications without clumping and it gives super length. Everyday I put it one and it will last without smudging til I take off my makeup at night. I go from 5am til usually 9pm without a problem. I LOVE IT. I first bought the waterproof one and after using it I went back to get 3 more at Walgreens. I have high end as well and it beats out all of them. Please try it!
I have the same mascara as well and it's the one I like the best as far as a drugstore brand and if I want one that goes on quick & easy. However, if I want a more dramatic look and have a few extra minutes to spare, I have to go with Younique's Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara, hands down. I don't even sell the stuff. No offense to gossmakeupartist, but I think Younique is way better than the one he's showing.

Maybelline Colossal is my favorite mascara. It makes my lashes look fuller. Love that! I accidentally bought waterproof/hydrofuge and it keeps my lashes curled but it does not make give the full effect. My lashes are spaced apart. Just can't get everything in one mascara I guess. Also, I haven't had a good experience with a mascara plastic tip applicator, lots of clumping.
Lancome's Definicils has been my favorite for years. I can't count how many other's I've tried, both high and low-end, but always come back to Definicils!
Fave drugstore mascara is L'Oréal Voluminous hands down. Higher end would be a toss up between Lancôme Definicils and Benefit Rollerlash! Eager to try this one!
It! Cosmetics Superhero mascara is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I'm 62, and have lost a lot of my yiunger lashes (length and volume) and this really makes me look like I have more closely to my youthful lashes!
My favorite mascara that I have found and that I’ve been using for a very long time is the Cover girl Lash Blast Volume, it’s in an orange tube. It has never done me wrong, it’s one of the best mascaras I’ve ever found!
I had been patiently waiting for this product to be sold in the States. But I recently contacted Boots here in the US, and they've informed me that there are no plans of launching this item in the US. I also tried to purchase it from the UK website, but they don't ship to the US. Do you know of any other means of getting this product? I don't think I've ever wanted an items as badly as I do this. I was hoping to purchase two of the Blackest Black and two of the Brown/Black. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
Imtelllan U If you can get them in the states maybe try the Boots No.7 ones. I use Intense Volume Waterproof. I haven't tried the 17 one in the video but I suspect that they may be similar as also made by Boots and, in the past, I have found No.7 to be very similar to 17 just of slightly higher quality. I think they also do a non-waterproof version if you prefer. Hope this helps.
Imtelllan U Be careful using Amazon and especially eBay because a TON of counterfeit makeup with toxic chemicals and ingredients are flooding the listings. Especially if the product is made or sold in China, Japan, or Malaysia. Korean makeup is *usually* safe, as is US. BUT NOT if it's counterfeit! Make sure it's a very reputable seller who can tell you the ingredients. Look on UA-cam for videos on how to tell real from fake of whatever cosmetic you're thinking of purchasing. For example, I've seen dozens of videos on how to tell real MAC from knockoffs. In my experience with mascara, L'Oreal's Telescopic is decent. And Lancome's Definicils works about the same as what we see here in the video. My personal favorite mascara is Rimmel's Scandaleyes. 1 coat is enough to look like you're born with beautiful lashes. 2 coats will give you a classic makeup look, and 3 coats will give you a seriously dramatic falsies look. And it's only $6-$8 at Wal Mart. Hope this helps, and good luck getting what you're looking for!
Yeah, I know what you mean. I work for Amazon, so I know about the counterfeit makeup that's sold them there and eBay as well. Good point you made, though. I contacted MAC one time regarding a website that popped up on my newsfeed. They advised you may be buying counterfeit MAC products if you're not buying from an actual MAC retailer.

Wow, that surprises me because I have that mascara and I hate it! haha. For me the bristles on the wand are way too short and my tube had like no mascara.
Tried it. Gave me major eye watering and itching, to be fair I had the same problem with NYX and I usually love their stuff. Most of elf's eye products seem to not do well with me...other than the smudge pots.
Elf makes junk makeup. Someone recommended the same mascara to me: I tried it, it was nothing compared to other great drugstore mascaras. If you want something good, try Covergirl Super Sizer, Loreal Telescopic, or RImmel Retro Glam... if you need to save some money, wait for any other those brands to have a 40% off sale at the drugstore.
I'm not big on covergirl but Rimmel is good. I have long (but sparse) lashes that touch my cheek when I close my eyes. Its hard find mascara that doesn't transfer into my eyebrows or give me panda eyes
I've never had as much length and volume as I have with the elf - it's one of my favorite brands. It doesn't transfer either but I guess to each their own. Most mascara is just too expensive for what it doesn't do for me I guess
The best I've ever use and actually won't wear anything else after discovering it is Loreal's Telescopic in Carbon black. I've tried all brands, including high end brands and this us the best. And if I'm needing a waterproof mascara, like if attending a funeral or an event I'm pretty sure I'm going to cry, I use the waterproof mascara of the same brand. That stuff will NOT budge. But it lengthens and keeps lashes from clumping, which I find to be a problem with the Voluminous mascara. I always apply at least 2 coats, no matter the brand. But to me, the Telescopic is the absolute best. I get complimented on my eyelashes frequently. And I attribute it to that mascara.
I got magnetic black, since is the only one imported in my country, and it's the best mascara I have ever had! People tell me I have doll lashes when using it, while if not wearing mascara I don't even have lashes :(
my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is L'oreal New York voluminous superstar. It has the cream primer. the 2 step process. It literally is the. only thing that works on my lashes. I have waisted countless dollars on other brands and gone back to it because the just didn't work. It is unbelievable! I normally buy a couple tubes at a time because I would die with out it! That is pretty much the only thing I use out of the drugstore but I will continue to because it is that AWESOME! You should definitely try. Btw I love your videos! Idk if the speculation about this video being sponsored is true or not, but, either way, it doesn't bother me. If it really is a good product, why not agree to a little sponsorship gig? If he's gonna praise something, he may as well get paid to do it. I trust his reviews because I know that, ultimately, he wouldn't accept a _mountain_ of money to endorse a shitty--or even mediocre--product. Don't you guys realize that he's popular enough to land a lucrative deal representing a major beauty brand? This has been the case for years, but companies know that they can't count on him to give a favorable review no matter what. I've seen him criticize products from MUFE, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, etc. Even if it's one of his favorite brands, he tells the truth. He's shown that time and time again. I don't have a problem with sponsored videos. But I do have a problem when they're sponsored and they don't state it in the description. Also, Wayne has stated again and again that he would not do sponsored videos so if he changed his mind I do expect him to give us a heads up. I agree that I trust him not to recommend a shitty product just because it's sponsored. But even if this mascara is good, he's saying it's the best, which is the only reason I would be interested in buying it.

I had received a makeup gift one year from a friend, it had Clinique mascara in the gift box with an eye shadow and a sample of lipstick in Black Honey. Needless to say I did not like the mascara, it was so dry and made my lashes very brittle. I have been using ELF lengthening and defining, for $4 in American money I’m not complaining. I love it. Occasionally I use a base of Almay Thickening just to thicken up my lashes , just to start them . Holds the curl .
I get the feeling I'm about to ask a stupid question but…why do you put on multiple coats of mascara? To me, only the first coat looks natural and attractive. Once you start working up the other coats it just looks messy, sticky, unnatural and spider-lashy and the more mascara that is added, the worse it gets.
It depends on the person's preference. The brush looks like it's really good at separating the lashes, maybe he messed up. The mascara I use separates and makes them look long & I apply like 3 coats of mascara, & they never look clumpy or spider-like. But sometimes I mess up and they do get clumpy. I am not a fan of that look so I start over. Hah.
Have you tried Younique's 3D Fiber Lash mascara? They don't test any of their cosmetics on animals, and they're natural and vegan based as well! So no harmful chemicals, parabens, or fillers :)
Wayne, my mom taught me to swipe the top of my upper eyelashes as well as the bottom. I have fine, blonde lashes & it makes such a great difference. I love Loreal Telescopic mascara because the spoolie is narrow so it finds all my lashes & I don't bump my lids constantly. She also taught me to dust my chin & forehead with leftover blush after my cheeks. I heard u mention you're "old school" & do that as well. I'm fair skinned & need to or I tend to look washed out. Lash Discovery is my favorite mascara. I love the tiny wand. I am terribly nearsighted, so my eyes protrude quite severely from my socket, and I can use this one without getting the product in my eye. Also, no glycerin.
Definitely try Loreal Manga Eyes, in a purple tube and a cartoon panda lol It's the best I've ever tried. I'm still trying to get my hands on Telescopic but it's hard to find in stores and I don't want to order it online yet. I've heard great things about it.

Yes it should still work. I have small lashes also. I add this and it works wonders. Little tip is after u apply it when it's damp hold them up and have a small fan dry them n position and they stay, I don't use an eye lash curler since I already have little lashes and don't wanna risk them being pulled
Maybelline Falsies Mascara Waterproof blackest black formula. The only thing I don't like is that it is literally impossible to remove, but damn do I look good when I put it on! And for that reason I'm going to buy the regular (non-waterproof) formulation soon.
Yes! This is my favorite mascara so far! Try using a little coconut oil to remove it. Changed my life when I started doing it and I swear my natural lashes look better.

You'll need a duo-phase oil makeup remover to get it off though as it's seriously stuck there! I can wear it comfortably for a 10 hour shift and it looks freshly applied!
Yolita Salazar if you have access to Noir, forever noir longwear eyeliner, i highly recommend. It lasted 12+ hrs, no smudging once it set and i have to use eye makeup remover to remove. Worked well on my lower water line with no irritation!
Dearest Wayne....I had the pleasure of watching your Favourite Mascaras of 2017 video. In it, you recommended one drugstore brand, L’Oréal in Carbon Black. I did have the privilege of using the higher end brands before watching the video, and was pleased to see we agreed on many. I did try the L’Oréal Carbon Black, and found it to wear beautifully. I cried in it twice, much to my chagrin, and it didn’t budge (and it wasn’t the waterproof formula either). Can’t wait to see this one hit the States. I’m a believer if you are! 😘
Indeed - Loreal Voluminous has been my go to for 15 years! Has never failed me and makesy lashes longer and thicker. I've never seen thus mascara look bad on anyone!
Have you tried younique 3D mascara? If so can you review it because it's $30 in the U.S. I'm not sure if it's worth it. It's a two step process, that has to be repeated at least 3 times to achieve dramatic results. What are your thoughts on it? If you have tried it. Btw love your videos!!!

CMFJ9600 It is not worth it. if you like looking like you have clumpy spider legs glued to your lashes, try it. For 30 bucks it just wasn't worth it. I tried so many different younique tutorials from youtube, and I still had fiber fall out that really irritated my eyes. I'd save my money if I were you.

I haven't found anything better than L'Oréal black with the curved brush. I've tried expensive ones, comb brush, fibers and I still come back to L'Oréal.
I picked up Loreal Telescopic, fell in love with it, then had my heart broken when I realized I picked up a NON-waterproof tube... and then I died of heart break when I found they discontinued their waterproof formulation. WTF? Who something NON-waterproof next to one of the WETTEST parts of their face?? Why do so many Loreal mascaras NOT come in a waterproof form? :(
Up front, I'll admit that I haven't tried that specific one, so I'm not sure if what I'm about to say applies here, but I thought maybe my experience may help explain yours. If not, please disregard. :) I've noticed lately (like in the past ~7-8 years or so) that almost all non waterproof mascaras now have that "teflon" or "nylon" or whatever it is in their formulas. So they are not technically "waterproof", but once they are dry, they don't tend to run like old non-waterproof formulas did. (On me, however, they all flake like a nightmare except Clinique, but I digress.) In my experience trying to find my "unicorn" of mascaras, I've found that even when brands aren't "promoting" that as a feature, many of them tend to have that property. So my thought is that maybe more companies are moving in that direction since removal of regular "waterproof" can be difficult if people aren't using the right product, while the "teflon" ones are supposed to be gentle and easier to remove (which is another nightmare for me...I don't understand why, but those things tend to flake like crazy, but then when I try to remove them, don't want to come off. I'm always like WTF?!? lol) Anyway, this is just my opinion and guess based on my personal experience. But I agree, I wish more companies offered their "feature" mascaras in the regular "old" waterproof formula. :) Best of luck on your perfect waterproof mascara hunt! I've moved to Essence Lash Princess, the mint green one. I have an old wand from a really good separating mascara I use to comb through as the brush isn't the same but it has similar effects IMO. The wand I use is from another Essence mascara, v similar to the Boots 17 one in the video. Good luck! :)
Ill try to remember the other essence one. The combo of the two give a v similar effect to this one, maybe even better. Super long and defined, falsie-esque!
You have to use the wand correctly, a plastic / defining wand, you rotate it and wiggle it through the lashes to really separate them and cost every single lash. Good luck!
I actually love the Essence- I love extreme mascara. I never thought I'd find a really good cheap mascara. The new essence mascara is ment to be excellent aswell.
I've found L'Oreal voluminous butterfly mascara has worked best for me. I was using the Better Than Sex by Too Faced, but I found this one and love it, and its a lot less expensive!!
actually, I really like the benefit rollerlash. but my absolute favorite is the essence lash princess. applying a nice coat of the essence (here in Germany it's like 2 or 3€) and then going over it with the rollerlash - there you go, no falsies need. btw, everyone I showed the cheap essence one loves it
I recently bought a mascara from primark. It's the best wand I've ever had, for not clumping my lashes together. It looks so good! So happy and so surprised!
My favorite mascara is Lash Sensational from Maybelline. Makes me look like I have false lashes on. No flaking, no raccoon eyes and it comes off with soap and water.
Same for me as well. I use the Falsies kind. Works wonders and you don't have to spend 10 mins applying it. It goes on so smoothly and only takes a few secs. I LOVE IT!
My favorite mascara is Covergirl Lash Blast Volume & Length, in the purple tube, water RESISTANT, because it does not smudge, yet washes off easily with Neutrogena Naturals Face Wash and Make Up Remover, which is a FANTASTIC one-step product that cleans thoroughly, but doesn’t dry my skin.
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try that if I can find it in Los Angles. The one I've been using for the past 7 years is Maybelline DEFINE-A-LASH® LENGTHENING WASHABLE MASCARA. I love the wand because it really gets to the very tips of my lashes and makes the super long and natural. I've been asked if I'm wearing false lashes while wearing this before. The other I'm recently trying is the IT Cosmetics TIGHTLINE MASCARA $24.00. I love the tiny teeth on the wand because it's so petite you can get to the root of the lash and coat the entire lash to the tip. It gives me length, fullness and a natural non-clumping result. Between this two I love the Maybelline because it's been reliable and it's so cheap $9.00 and usually you can get it buy one get one half off so that's when I stock up on it.
Whenever I curl my lashes they go back to their natural curliness, which is pretty much straight, within an hour. So is there something I'm doing wrong or something I can do to prevent that?

Maybelline Full N Soft is hands down the best mascara I've ever used, SO gorgeous, full, long, lightweight, and it doesn't make my lashes look "crunchy" or "clumpy"; it looks so natural, and yet so much better than my real lashes. Holds the curl really well (I can ugly cry in the non-waterproof and still look like I just applied fresh makeup LOL), lasts all day, but it still cleans off really easily with makeup remover. I got it on sale for $3, I think it's usually $6.
I love Sheer Cover's extra length mascara. It has a very bushy spoole and lasts all day. Sometimes I'll add CK One as the second coat. But Sheer Cover is my favorite. I originally got it in a kit I bought from them. Won't be doing that anymore bc the mineral foundation is only ok. What's your thought on Benefit's push up eye liner?
Wow it really does work, I could see the length immediately transforming on the eye.
By the way, a tip for you, if you get mascara on the skin, NEVER wipe it wet, as hard as it is to do, wait a few minutes for it to dry completely and it will easily chip off with a Q-tip.

Kelline Pickett Great tip but don't forget to add that it only works with non-waterproof mascara! I always use waterproof mascara and letting it dry is absolutely horrible because it will not move from your skin and only a heavy makeup remover will clean it! :)

No he's saying that waterproof DOES help hold the curl, due to it being oil based. If you're still having a hard time holding a curl, have you tried using a curling mascara? Unfortunately, you do have to sacrifice a bit of length because they tend to temporarily shrink the lash a bit, but it gets the job done! Another thing to try is curling your lashes with a heated eyelash curler. Loreal and Sephora make good ones, but you can also try blasting your regular eyelash curler with your hair dryer for a quick second to heat it up. Hope that helps! : )
No, waterproof helps hold curl. Some people use one layer below other mascara but others use just waterproof to keep their curl. Make sure you use a lash curler first though.

It thickens and adds tons of volume without getting clumpy, and if you do 2 coats you get plenty of length as well. I'm just as happy with this mascara applied well as I am with, say, the natural Wispies false lashes by Ardell, I'd say you get very close to the same effect.

I've fallen in love with L'Oreal Butterfly mascara. I love everything about it from the formula to the applicator! I get really long, full lashes and it doesn't clump/flake. I will definitely be checking this one out too. Thank you for the recommendation! Mascara is the one cosmetics item I refuse to spend a lot of money on. I've never used a high-end one I've liked!

oh it does clump a little bit (compared to say Cover Girl's professional mascara wich gives no clumps at all, because the product has a thinner consistency), but the finish is great. Lashes look much thicker and longer. I had tried Voluminous mascara and that one clumps waaaay worst.
IME nothing beats Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill STRETCH mascara. Of course, even better than that, is Latisse. After 3 months of nightly application, I actually had to TRIM my eye lashes. I now put it on twice a week to keep up the results, and for the last few years have had probably on average 1-2 people a month ask me what mascara I was using! I just use Clinique mascara, the one they make for the bottom lashes, to give my lashes a little more color. If I go beyond one light coat or use another mascara, I look like I'm wearing ridiculous falsies in the middle of the day. It's a great problem to have! It also helps grow out eye brows, One bottle lasts a year, which is the same cost as three high-end ($30) mascaras. And that's the first year. Now for keep up, one bottle lasts me about two years.

I'm in Canada and my very fav. one used to be Maybelline XL (Waterproof) - it also had the white lengthening fibres at one end. Then they OF COURSE discontinued it (here anyway) - SAs were amazed as it was a best seller. For the longest time I was looking for another one with the fibres at one end and found Voluminous (Waterproof) - more $ than Maybelline but just as good. THEN, in Canada for some stupid reason they discontinued just the Waterproof one?! For me, if it's not waterproof I find it too wet and drags the curl down. Lo and behold the other day I found it on Amazon.ca for a good price.
Try Eyeko. It's waterproof, and once you put it on, it isn't going ANYWHERE. But you have to be really careful, because it's hard to remove, and if you sleep and you didn't get it all off, your eyes burn like crazy the next morning. It's fine as long as you really remove it.
(I made the mistake of falling asleep with it still on a few times. Ouch.) It's available at Sephora.
My favourite mascara I've ever tried is literally like $6 where I live (Australia) and it's the Essence lash princess mascara. It honestly does give a false lash effect.

I have lashes just like you, nonexsistent withput mascara.Ive used many high end mascaras however ive found one that blows them all away.The best one ive ever used is Jordanna Best Lash in the black and purple tube. Its only sold at Walgreens and its under$3!! I dont even need falsies any longer, my lashes are that dramatic and gorgeous with this mascara. I start having anxiety attacks thinking about them ever discontinuing it 😬

+Elizabeth Plouskas I haven't had any issues with it. If you got an infection, maybe you scratched your eye and didn't realize it. There's a learning curve to using it. It took me three or four attempts to learn how to use the brush properly. The worst one I used today, was the Faux Lashes by NYX. I saw almost no difference. I wound up putting on a base coat over it and another coat of a different mascara. Maybe the NYX would be a good base for layering other mascaras over it...?
i also love that mascara and i am using it everyday. it was really awesome but there is one problem. it is not removed easily. i use eye rrmover but it takes some time and i have to rub so many times so my eye skin (eyelid) sometimes becomes hurt...and after eye remover,i still have to use cleansing oil..😣i really like it but i dont know if i should repurchase or not..
+김영미 I use the Maybelline mascara too because it's so great, but I agree that it's hard to get off. However, my favorite thing to remove it with is Cetaphil gentle cleanser. It gets rid of the mascara so quickly without me having to rub hard. I just wet my face/eyes, use a pump of Cetaphil, close my eyes and rub it gently around my eyes and lashes, then just rinse off with water and wash the rest of my face with my regular cleanser. I NEVER use eye make up remover because it's so drying and requires you to use cotton which can irritate your eyes and cause premature aging from all the rubbing. If I don't use the Cetaphil cleanser though then I just rub organic coconut oil on my eyes/lashes, dab off the oil/melted makeup very gently with a cotton pad, and then wash my face. Both work really well, but I prefer to use the Cetaphil mainly so I don't get oil everywhere or create a mess. I just integrate it into my face washing routine. You should try it!

I think you should've stopped at 2 coats, the 3rd coat made your lashes looked clumpy. I love the mascara and I do have long lashes that have been thinning out with age I think I will look for this in the shops. Thanks for sharing.

I have been using Ardell beauty brow and lash growth accelerator, and organic cold pressed castor oil on my lashes (look for both on amazon)! My lashes are full and long again after years of having almost half missing! After only a month of use.
I have been using something similar. Castor oil for strength and coconut oil for growth and some vitamin e. They are growing in, slow but steady and the vitamin e is keeping the crows feet at bay. Thank you.
First thing i think of when I see mascara recommendations is not 'wow , it looks amazing' but ' how long before it comes off around my eyes ? A lifetime of every mascara I've been able to lay my hands on and never found one yet that doesn't leave me looking like I've cried for a week. Tubing mascaras ? Spent a fortune on one , Dior actually, for a hot date and the guy leans forward and says...... 'You've got all these weird little black flakes under your eyes'.

The most outrageous mascara I ever had was by Adrienne Arpel - it was two parts: a white primer that lengthened my lashes out to Texas and a very nice mascara.

The problem I have with essence mascara( and lots of other brands) is my eyelashes curl naturally and touch under my eyes..so many leave a thick line under my eyes where eyelashes have touched. Used to use one from bourgeois that had fibres.. swear that gave u lashes like tarantulas lol. I get good coverage from essence mascara but even waterproof smudges during day.

The mascara that I describe exactly how you described this one for me is the Wet N Wild megalength. It comes in a purple tube both in waterproof C143 and regular C139. It is super black, has the same kind of plastic wand and I can put multiple applications without clumping and it gives super length.
Everyday I put it one and it will last without smudging til I take off my makeup at night. I go from 5am til usually 9pm without a problem. I LOVE IT. I first bought the waterproof one and after using it I went back to get 3 more at Walgreens. I have high end as well and it beats out all of them. Please try it!

I have the same mascara as well and it's the one I like the best as far as a drugstore brand and if I want one that goes on quick & easy. However, if I want a more dramatic look and have a few extra minutes to spare, I have to go with Younique's Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara, hands down. I don't even sell the stuff. No offense to gossmakeupartist, but I think Younique is way better than the one he's showing.

Maybelline Colossal is my favorite mascara. It makes my lashes look fuller. Love that! I accidentally bought waterproof/hydrofuge and it keeps my lashes curled but it does not make give the full effect. My lashes are spaced apart. Just can't get everything in one mascara I guess.
Also, I haven't had a good experience with a mascara plastic tip applicator, lots of clumping.
Lancome's Definicils has been my favorite for years. I can't count how many other's I've tried, both high and low-end, but always come back to Definicils!

My favorite mascara that I have found and that I’ve been using for a very long time is the Cover girl Lash Blast Volume, it’s in an orange tube. It has never done me wrong, it’s one of the best mascaras I’ve ever found!

I had been patiently waiting for this product to be sold in the States. But I recently contacted Boots here in the US, and they've informed me that there are no plans of launching this item in the US. I also tried to purchase it from the UK website, but they don't ship to the US. Do you know of any other means of getting this product? I don't think I've ever wanted an items as badly as I do this. I was hoping to purchase two of the Blackest Black and two of the Brown/Black.

Imtelllan U If you can get them in the states maybe try the Boots No.7 ones. I use Intense Volume Waterproof. I haven't tried the 17 one in the video but I suspect that they may be similar as also made by Boots and, in the past, I have found No.7 to be very similar to 17 just of slightly higher quality. I think they also do a non-waterproof version if you prefer. Hope this helps.
Imtelllan U Be careful using Amazon and especially eBay because a TON of counterfeit makeup with toxic chemicals and ingredients are flooding the listings. Especially if the product is made or sold in China, Japan, or Malaysia. Korean makeup is *usually* safe, as is US. BUT NOT if it's counterfeit! Make sure it's a very reputable seller who can tell you the ingredients. Look on UA-cam for videos on how to tell real from fake of whatever cosmetic you're thinking of purchasing. For example, I've seen dozens of videos on how to tell real MAC from knockoffs.
In my experience with mascara, L'Oreal's Telescopic is decent. And Lancome's Definicils works about the same as what we see here in the video. My personal favorite mascara is Rimmel's Scandaleyes. 1 coat is enough to look like you're born with beautiful lashes. 2 coats will give you a classic makeup look, and 3 coats will give you a seriously dramatic falsies look. And it's only $6-$8 at Wal Mart.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I work for Amazon, so I know about the counterfeit makeup that's sold them there and eBay as well. Good point you made, though. I contacted MAC one time regarding a website that popped up on my newsfeed. They advised you may be buying counterfeit MAC products if you're not buying from an actual MAC retailer.

Boots 17 range has been discontinued unfortunately and replaced with CYO. This mascara is no longer available. They still have the Boots No7 range.
Elf 3 in 1 mascara is my absolute favorite, I recommend it to everyone honestly. What every other mascara gives me in 2-3 coats, it gives me in 1
Wow, that surprises me because I have that mascara and I hate it! haha. For me the bristles on the wand are way too short and my tube had like no mascara.
Tried it. Gave me major eye watering and itching, to be fair I had the same problem with NYX and I usually love their stuff. Most of elf's eye products seem to not do well with me...other than the smudge pots.
Elf makes junk makeup. Someone recommended the same mascara to me: I tried it, it was nothing compared to other great drugstore mascaras. If you want something good, try Covergirl Super Sizer, Loreal Telescopic, or RImmel Retro Glam... if you need to save some money, wait for any other those brands to have a 40% off sale at the drugstore.
I'm not big on covergirl but Rimmel is good. I have long (but sparse) lashes that touch my cheek when I close my eyes. Its hard find mascara that doesn't transfer into my eyebrows or give me panda eyes
I've never had as much length and volume as I have with the elf - it's one of my favorite brands. It doesn't transfer either but I guess to each their own. Most mascara is just too expensive for what it doesn't do for me I guess
I have tried so many high end and drug store brands over the years. Each time, I keep coming back to Loreal Voluminous Waterproof!
The best I've ever use and actually won't wear anything else after discovering it is Loreal's Telescopic in Carbon black. I've tried all brands, including high end brands and this us the best. And if I'm needing a waterproof mascara, like if attending a funeral or an event I'm pretty sure I'm going to cry, I use the waterproof mascara of the same brand. That stuff will NOT budge. But it lengthens and keeps lashes from clumping, which I find to be a problem with the Voluminous mascara. I always apply at least 2 coats, no matter the brand. But to me, the Telescopic is the absolute best. I get complimented on my eyelashes frequently. And I attribute it to that mascara.
I got magnetic black, since is the only one imported in my country, and it's the best mascara I have ever had! People tell me I have doll lashes when using it, while if not wearing mascara I don't even have lashes :(

my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is L'oreal New York voluminous superstar. It has the cream primer. the 2 step process. It literally is the. only thing that works on my lashes. I have waisted countless dollars on other brands and gone back to it because the just didn't work. It is unbelievable! I normally buy a couple tubes at a time because I would die with out it! That is pretty much the only thing I use out of the drugstore but I will continue to because it is that AWESOME! You should definitely try. Btw I love your videos! Idk if the speculation about this video being sponsored is true or not, but, either way, it doesn't bother me. If it really is a good product, why not agree to a little sponsorship gig? If he's gonna praise something, he may as well get paid to do it. I trust his reviews because I know that, ultimately, he wouldn't accept a _mountain_ of money to endorse a shitty--or even mediocre--product. Don't you guys realize that he's popular enough to land a lucrative deal representing a major beauty brand? This has been the case for years, but companies know that they can't count on him to give a favorable review no matter what. I've seen him criticize products from MUFE, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, etc. Even if it's one of his favorite brands, he tells the truth. He's shown that time and time again. Wayne Goss is no kissass, and he's certainly not a sell-out.

I don't have a problem with sponsored videos. But I do have a problem when they're sponsored and they don't state it in the description. Also, Wayne has stated again and again that he would not do sponsored videos so if he changed his mind I do expect him to give us a heads up.
I agree that I trust him not to recommend a shitty product just because it's sponsored. But even if this mascara is good, he's saying it's the best, which is the only reason I would be interested in buying it.

I had received a makeup gift one year from a friend, it had Clinique mascara in the gift box with an eye shadow and a sample of lipstick in Black Honey. Needless to say I did not like the mascara, it was so dry and made my lashes very brittle.
I have been using ELF lengthening and defining, for $4 in American money I’m not complaining. I love it. Occasionally I use a base of Almay Thickening just to thicken up my lashes , just to start them . Holds the curl .
I get the feeling I'm about to ask a stupid question but…why do you put on multiple coats of mascara? To me, only the first coat looks natural and attractive. Once you start working up the other coats it just looks messy, sticky, unnatural and spider-lashy and the more mascara that is added, the worse it gets.

It depends on the person's preference. The brush looks like it's really good at separating the lashes, maybe he messed up. The mascara I use separates and makes them look long & I apply like 3 coats of mascara, & they never look clumpy or spider-like. But sometimes I mess up and they do get clumpy. I am not a fan of that look so I start over. Hah.
Any cruelty free mascara will do for me! I got lucky with my lashes ;)

Wayne, my mom taught me to swipe the top of my upper eyelashes as well as the bottom. I have fine, blonde lashes & it makes such a great difference. I love Loreal Telescopic mascara because the spoolie is narrow so it finds all my lashes & I don't bump my lids constantly. She also taught me to dust my chin & forehead with leftover blush after my cheeks. I heard u mention you're "old school" & do that as well. I'm fair skinned & need to or I tend to look washed out. Lash Discovery is my favorite mascara. I love the tiny wand. I am terribly nearsighted, so my eyes protrude quite severely from my socket, and I can use this one without getting the product in my eye. Also, no glycerin.
Definitely try Loreal Manga Eyes, in a purple tube and a cartoon panda lol It's the best I've ever tried. I'm still trying to get my hands on Telescopic but it's hard to find in stores and I don't want to order it online yet. I've heard great things about it.
Loreal telescopic is my favorite :) they sell out fast when I look for it so I have had to order it through Amazon for the same price if not cheaper

Yes it should still work. I have small lashes also. I add this and it works wonders. Little tip is after u apply it when it's damp hold them up and have a small fan dry them n position and they stay, I don't use an eye lash curler since I already have little lashes and don't wanna risk them being pulled

Yes! This is my favorite mascara so far! Try using a little coconut oil to remove it. Changed my life when I started doing it and I swear my natural lashes look better.

You'll need a duo-phase oil makeup remover to get it off though as it's seriously stuck there! I can wear it comfortably for a 10 hour shift and it looks freshly applied!

Yolita Salazar if you have access to Noir, forever noir longwear eyeliner, i highly recommend. It lasted 12+ hrs, no smudging once it set and i have to use eye makeup remover to remove. Worked well on my lower water line with no irritation!

Dearest Wayne....I had the pleasure of watching your Favourite Mascaras of 2017 video. In it, you recommended one drugstore brand, L’Oréal in Carbon Black. I did have the privilege of using the higher end brands before watching the video, and was pleased to see we agreed on many.
I did try the L’Oréal Carbon Black, and found it to wear beautifully. I cried in it twice, much to my chagrin, and it didn’t budge (and it wasn’t the waterproof formula either). Can’t wait to see this one hit the States. I’m a believer if you are! 😘

Indeed - Loreal Voluminous has been my go to for 15 years! Has never failed me and makesy lashes longer and thicker. I've never seen thus mascara look bad on anyone!
Have you tried younique 3D mascara? If so can you review it because it's $30 in the U.S. I'm not sure if it's worth it. It's a two step process, that has to be repeated at least 3 times to achieve dramatic results. What are your thoughts on it? If you have tried it. Btw love your videos!!!

CMFJ9600 It is not worth it. if you like looking like you have clumpy spider legs glued to your lashes, try it. For 30 bucks it just wasn't worth it. I tried so many different younique tutorials from youtube, and I still had fiber fall out that really irritated my eyes. I'd save my money if I were you.

I haven't found anything better than L'Oréal black with the curved brush. I've tried expensive ones, comb brush, fibers and I still come back to L'Oréal.

I picked up Loreal Telescopic, fell in love with it, then had my heart broken when I realized I picked up a NON-waterproof tube... and then I died of heart break when I found they discontinued their waterproof formulation. WTF? Who something NON-waterproof next to one of the WETTEST parts of their face?? Why do so many Loreal mascaras NOT come in a waterproof form? :(
Up front, I'll admit that I haven't tried that specific one, so I'm not sure if what I'm about to say applies here, but I thought maybe my experience may help explain yours. If not, please disregard. :)
I've noticed lately (like in the past ~7-8 years or so) that almost all non waterproof mascaras now have that "teflon" or "nylon" or whatever it is in their formulas. So they are not technically "waterproof", but once they are dry, they don't tend to run like old non-waterproof formulas did. (On me, however, they all flake like a nightmare except Clinique, but I digress.) In my experience trying to find my "unicorn" of mascaras, I've found that even when brands aren't "promoting" that as a feature, many of them tend to have that property. So my thought is that maybe more companies are moving in that direction since removal of regular "waterproof" can be difficult if people aren't using the right product, while the "teflon" ones are supposed to be gentle and easier to remove (which is another nightmare for me...I don't understand why, but those things tend to flake like crazy, but then when I try to remove them, don't want to come off. I'm always like WTF?!? lol) Anyway, this is just my opinion and guess based on my personal experience. But I agree, I wish more companies offered their "feature" mascaras in the regular "old" waterproof formula. :)

I've moved to Essence Lash Princess, the mint green one. I have an old wand from a really good separating mascara I use to comb through as the brush isn't the same but it has similar effects IMO. The wand I use is from another Essence mascara, v similar to the Boots 17 one in the video. Good luck! :)
Ill try to remember the other essence one. The combo of the two give a v similar effect to this one, maybe even better. Super long and defined, falsie-esque!
You have to use the wand correctly, a plastic / defining wand, you rotate it and wiggle it through the lashes to really separate them and cost every single lash. Good luck!

actually, I really like the benefit rollerlash. but my absolute favorite is the essence lash princess. applying a nice coat of the essence (here in Germany it's like 2 or 3€) and then going over it with the rollerlash - there you go, no falsies need. btw, everyone I showed the cheap essence one loves it

My favorite mascara is Lash Sensational from Maybelline. Makes me look like I have false lashes on. No flaking, no raccoon eyes and it comes off with soap and water.

My favorite mascara is Covergirl Lash Blast Volume & Length, in the purple tube, water RESISTANT, because it does not smudge, yet washes off easily with Neutrogena Naturals Face Wash and Make Up Remover, which is a FANTASTIC one-step product that cleans thoroughly, but doesn’t dry my skin.
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try that if I can find it in Los Angles. The one I've been using for the past 7 years is Maybelline DEFINE-A-LASH® LENGTHENING WASHABLE MASCARA. I love the wand because it really gets to the very tips of my lashes and makes the super long and natural. I've been asked if I'm wearing false lashes while wearing this before. The other I'm recently trying is the IT Cosmetics TIGHTLINE MASCARA $24.00. I love the tiny teeth on the wand because it's so petite you can get to the root of the lash and coat the entire lash to the tip. It gives me length, fullness and a natural non-clumping result. Between this two I love the Maybelline because it's been reliable and it's so cheap $9.00 and usually you can get it buy one get one half off so that's when I stock up on it.
You need to show that kit to some of these young influencers who have disgustingly large makeup collections.
Whenever I curl my lashes they go back to their natural curliness, which is pretty much straight, within an hour. So is there something I'm doing wrong or something I can do to prevent that?

+NellieAllAround put a hairdryer on your curler to heat it up for about ten seconds then curl. then use a waterproof mascara to hold it better
