I'd die to get one sponsor to do art. So lucky
Hey Julie - it was me who messaged you :-)
I did a blue/teal river coaster with walnut veneer. I’m so glad you’ve tried this and like it - I genuinely hadn’t found anyone on the internet who’d done this before, so I’m so glad your video can inspire people. These are beautiful!
Thankyou so much, was yours as thin as mine?
@@PouringYourHeartOut do you know I think mine was thicker (0.6mm) and yours looks to be maybe 0.3mm? Yours is actually better because I had a terrible time getting mine to stick down properly so I had issues with bubbles, and then I had to add another very thin layer of coloured resin to come up the sides of it a bit which was stressful cos it kept running over the edges 🤣
So yours is definitely preferable, it stuck down so well and you so can’t tell it’s a veneer!
You're a genius Cat Wood! Would love you as one of my lovelies. Amazing idea.
I am about to do this and this is such a great idea!! So much easier than using real wood!
I’ve been looking for ever to find someone using wood veneer! I came across this and remembered that I had seen this about 5 months ago, even commented then! What a ditz I can be! So happy it showed up in my search, again. I bought the veneer and didn’t know how to use it.
Thanks again, Miss Julie. And thank you, Cat!
It’s interesting when watching you, or any other teacher, making choices because I rarely agree. But that is the reality of creating. We all get to choose.
I never tire of learning from you. I watch you over and over. Today you mentioned it is Spring where you are and we are just beginning to enjoy Fall here inNevada.
Ur literally a genius for how u made that work
Not a huge fan of the cream (personal taste) but man, could you imagine doing rich tones of emerald and moss green for the base, and then when adding the veneer, adding some tiny realistic flower stickers to the green section, so it looks like a flowering blanket of moss? Especially that burl stuff. Blimey I'd pay good money for a tray and coaster set like that.
Agree
Sounds beautiful...what a nice creative imagination. Maybe you should try making it and share your after photos with Julie and she can share with us
Julie, these are gorgeous. Very clean and simple. Classic! They have a mid-century modern feel. I absolutely love them!

These are gorgeous!! The veneer looks so warm under resin and the gold interference is perfect with it. Wow!
Gold edge picked it right up! Good job 👏
I love them!!. I think you could use the scraps like you do with the cellophane pieces. It would be worth a try 😊.
You make painting the edge gold, look so easy.
I think a turquoise middle would be beautiful too

Hi Julie,
I just wanted to let you know I received my clock mold today and I'm so excited. I love it. Thank You, Thank You so very, very much. ❤️🙂
Enjoy :)
They turned out great. Great idea. Thanks for sharing , Julie. 😃
Hey Julie, love the veneers ideas. I can see just in your collections u have, you could layer the different colour veneer to make more 3D lioking pieces and maybe put one on the bottom nearly same as top and then it would look more realisitic i feel. U could do that with colour paper to make mountains different depth sea and oceans etc. Oh the lady who came up with this idea is very smart. I prefer the real wood of course but for someone a bit more of a budget could get away with using paper or textered stickers endless ideas now. Thank you for sharing your ideas and i thought i would reiterate on what u said in beginning of video with different colour veneers but u dont have too stop there. Di grassey affects your bubbles in the waters etc is soo. Endless wow. Thank u. ❤ xo
I love the idea of mountains layered different heights!! Sounds awesome
Amazing artist! Love your work, watch you everyday. Hi from UK xx

Genius idea and you as always created a stunning set. You're so brave. The burl is really cool. I must try this. Thank you Julie. Your talent is endless. ❤️👑❤️👑
Everything about these is perfectly gorgeous! I just adore the little heart! Can't you just see employing this technique for picture frames and table tops etc.? Trinket boxes... Drawer pulls...dollhouse furnishings!
What a magnificent idea! Love them.
Also love my geode 4 coaster mold....having so much fun, thank you Julie xxx

Good idea!
I love it
Amazing idea and results x
Love how they turned out ❤
Loved the video
Awesome. Just ordered some veneer from Amazon. Thank you so much for showing us how to do this. Take care.
Can I get a link for the paper veneer?
Awesome
I would love to do this with the blue for water in the middle some way. BEAUTIFUL!
A tip I learned is to mix the micas in alcohol to make a sort of slurry prior to adding in the resin.
really loved these x
Hi from lockdown Sydney, would love to see a gold center, love these they look beautiful,
Love them. So 1950's, as well as rustic woods are "in" in 2021.
perfect! nice.
Absolutely beautiful love ❤️ these. Better than the real one’s love AnneUK 😘 xxxxx
I "LOVE" these!!! Of course you could do this with endless color combinations, but Girl that shimmering creamy white against the deep rich wood tones...OMG! It looks so expensive, like a coaster you would sit your crystal wine glass on as you cruise the Mediterranean in your yacht...or the Whitsundays.
You're very sweet, thankyou
A de-burring tool works great for removing that edge also and there isn’t any sanding dust to worry about.
Beautiful, you are so inspiring. Where did you buy the veneer from?
