In the video you have mentioned that an APS retires at level of SP if not selected to IPS cadre....but, I have seen names of many in APS cadre itself who have attained the level of AIGP ....you can find those names in the website of Assam Police headquarters....
AIGP (Assistant Inspector General of Police) which is equivalent to SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police). While, AIGP is applicable in Assam, SSP is applicable in large states like UP, Gujarat etc. Both the ranks are included in Selection Grade. A PCS Police Officer cannot reached AIGP/SSP rank without inducted into the Selection Grade i.e. All India Service or Indian Police Service (IPS). When it comes to Assam Police Headquarters website, they are not sincere enough to add IPS instead of APS to those AIGP officers. Basically, update kora nai aru.
