To your credit, to this day, you can't really play games on a gaming laptop without it being connected to power either.
Pretty much this. The battery is just there to give you time to save and exit a game when the power goes out.

You can play games on the battery, but that will depend on your hardware and the games you attempt to play. I had a ryzen 5 laptop with an Rx 560x and without battery it used the Vega graphics of the processor which was ok,. But you wouldn't play demanding games on it. If you spec a good Apu then you wouldn't always need to use the dedicated all the time if you didn't want to plug it in. My current laptop isn't a gaming laptop, it doesn't even have a dedicated GPU, but it has a Ryzen 4700u and I can play some demanding games very well on it and you don't need to plug it in.

You can do that if you have game pass ultimate via xcloud. I'm on it almost daily.
i love these kinds screens - i had one for my gamecube and it was perfect for road trips and hotel visits

@@Cxncxnz i think i got one of those for like 20 bucks in some clearance been. ppl keep comparing them to this up spec favorably, but to be fair this upspec is a real screen and that psp one was probably 100 nits and almost monochrome lol. theyre not really comparable, the upspec is so much better.

This is a must have for someone like me who works traveling all around the US, I was using the cloud service on my laptop, but some hotels the wifi is miserable. I will definitely buy it.

I travel in a ford transit connect and this thing will run practically forever with my Jackery 1,000 hooked up to 2 100 watt solar panels on the roof.
The only problem that is a deal breaker for me is that it covers the Ethernet port :(

A question, can I use wireless headphones? I live with other people here and do not want to disturb them while I play (during nighttime in particular) shooters or any other "noisy" games.
This would probably be good for a college dorm. When I was in college I just had a gaming laptop but for those who want an xbox instead this would be cool. I have a small portable monitor for when I travel or for my buddies to use at my place and part of me wishes it was just this. I did get my portable monitor for under $100 tho so maybe what I have is just fine 🤣

If x cloud and shadow pc didn't work as well for me as it does via my wifi or Hotspot on my phone and tablet this would be my set up for sure. The older I get the more I love my gaming but the less time I get to ever invest $ in or be able to sit at a desk or tv. This is very nice for the gamer who's on the move or maybe need their own set up when all the kids and wifey are sleeping. I'm not in the market for next Gen but tell anyone who is get the series s unless they are dead set on something else.
I would love it if upspec gaming made a display like this for the Xbox One X.

What do you mean by "Xbox one series S" is it the Xbox one, the Xbox one s or the Xbox Series S? The one and series Xboxes are from different generations.
The gstory one has hdr but needs to be plugged in separate the x screen is powered by the USB ports on the Xbox, but I believe the gstory one can do 120 hz

Imo, rgb isn’t very xboxy because it’s got the clean minimal color minimalist style so rgb seems like an overstep.
Can the screen run at 120 fps on halo multiplayer ? Debating on getting this screen or the one from g story.

Does the screen draw its power exclusively from just the USB port? I don't see a separate plug/cord, so I'm guessing there's enough juice to drive both the display and speakers over USB?
Correct. Only cord is into the Xbox. The screen is powered by the Xbox

If you are able to put it on a tray in front of you then this could be a good option possibly. It would keep the system simple.

Look for G-Story. They have made Screens for PS5 (and XBox Series S and Series X).
I'd love to see a comparison, just ordered their Series S Screen (over the xScreen) since it has a second HDMI-In, Remote and is slightly larger (12.5 inch)
AcTuAlLy ! The current Razer logo is a modern design. The 90s logo had complementary different logotype using dated 90s design tropes. So much for your graphic design knowledge.
The current logo is 90s af. He’s right. Call it petty but it’s the reason why I never bought one. I do a lot of work on my laptop and would feel embarrassed with that silly logo in front of clients. Looks very teenage gamer.

Something like this is perfect for after office events. In my department we often host street fighter tournaments or super smash brothers but a lot of people just bring a monitor and it’s pretty cumbersome 🫠 this is quite handy for that. It would make a lot easier to just pick this up. It’s a small group of us so we honestly don’t need much. I just got my Steam deck and I’m working on setting up that but it would be nice to have an Xbox cause we all share a game pass 😂 it works. A lot of us work from home but like once a week or one weekend out of the month we will come in the office and do that. Our old solution was a mini pc with a projector but it’s a bit of pain to carry that around and there’s a lot of risk for the components being jumbled around 🫤 this would solve that. None of us can get an Xbox though at the moment but we are trying lol
