I was in a RUSH band for three of my four years in college and there was a lot of disharmony in the group because our rhythm guitarist wanted, real bad, to insert some Deep Purple songs into our setlist and that was a no go because our audience came to hear RUSH. Several weeks before graduation the band was broken up because finals were coming up and we were from different parts of the country. It was then that the college PIO reminded us that we were contractually obligated to be in a battle of the bands. The band members were unhappy about it and Randy (our rhythm guitarist) saw an opportunity to try to show up the group by forming another group and winning. Long story short, his band was horrible (they played Smoke on the Water and they came in last place) and his guitar playing was just atrocious. Now, I understood why our keyboardist was constantly fidgeting with our mixing board and dropping hints that she had to work extra hard because "something was missing."
Welcome back , long time no see , Deep Purple one of my favorite Bands , this line up was there best .
The most iconic guitar riff ever
A great reaction! This is such an iconic performance of their biggest hit on the best live album ever.
This is a great performance.
Made in Japan is Deep Purple Mark 2 at their very best. Amazing solos. And the cover of the album is an iconic image of a rock band at work.
Ritchie rocks!
I'm trying to study up on Ian Paice's drumming
Lo mas grande, saludos de Chile.
