Lied to his own lawyers about having returned all the documents. Moved boxes around prior to visits by investigators. There are two separate issues here.
The first one is that several high ranking U.S. elected officials, both Dem. and Rep. (recently, Biden, Trump, Pence), seem to be very casual about their handling secret documents. For example, bringing them home, which should be a complete No-No. This is an issue that needs to be addressed, but it's not the central issue here, because, when asked to return the documents (and reminded of the meaning of "secret" and "classified"), these people all comply....
Except for the special case of Trump. who first denied having the documents at all, then said "they are mine anyway," and when told it didn't work that way, returned some of the documents while knowingly hiding the others. Lied to his own lawyers about having returned all the documents. Moved boxes around prior to visits by investigators. And when the FBI finally did a warrant search of Trump's social club, they found all sorts of secret documents stashed in public-access places, as the photos in this video abundantly show.
If you can't see a difference between the secret documents case of Trump and that of Biden (or Pence for that matter), then I don't know what can be done for you;.

We all know those documents didn’t leave the White House in this condition. This mess appears as those people have been hurriedly going through these documents searching for specific items. Individuals burrowing through these boxes didn’t know the filing system. Did they even have clearance? Who was monitoring the security? The pool guy? Just searched for the “sale items”? Ridiculous!

Although I'd prefer for no one take classified documents home with them, I understand that it happens from time to time, and as long as they're returned when requested or discovered, I don't think it requires that individual to be charged with a crime. But Trump's handling of this situation absolutely warrants prosecution. All he had to do was give them back, but in true Trump fashion, he just couldn't bring himself to do the right thing, so he has no one to blame but himself.
