Thanks! Good luck with the install!! Don't forget to subscribe 😉
Just Subscribe bro. I hope you post all your 5th gen repairs in the future.
That job looks easier than one would expect!
I know, you would think it's worse lol
Not sure if I want a 5th or 6th gen.. I just bought a 97 formula and I appreciate you posting the "how to's " on auto repair
Np..thanks for watching
Wow, in the 50’s 60’s and 70’s GM cars you’d be able to buy just the cable and replace it. Today you have to buy the damn handle as well. What a way to make extra money for no reason except to give it to the customer up their hole when they bend over. Thx GM. Thank god my 1970 Z28 just would need the cable replaced.😂
Tell me about it
now what about if it's the back cable thats the problem? The part that holds the little ball is so rusted that its became big enough to where the ball just slips right out of it when you pull the lever too hard. (ball and front cable still look ok form what I can tell) do you know if you'd be able to route that back cable without removing the exhaust? it's really hard to tell looking at it
If I remember correctly, I think you have to drop the exhaust..don't forget to subscribe 😉
My cable snapped near the rear wheel. Would I be able to just replace the cable or I need to buy the entire assembly?
If it's for a fifthgen camaro, you can just buy the rearward cable..don't forget to subscribe
How did you get the cable to stretch out far enough to the hole on the bracket?
ua-cam.com/video/Kwmuj3dkGz0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=klowny1969
What would cause this to happen?
And how could your prevent this?
Could be that you pull on it way too hard..or just a cable stop that has not been crimped on too good..don't forget to subscribe
LMFAO!! The puns are classic.
Lol thanks!
Can i drive my car manual camaro ss 2015 without the lever? Until my part get here?
Just leave it in first gear until you can get it fixed. Obviously put blocks behind your back tires if you're on a hill.
Me n my dog Bob watch allof urs videos. Bob said one day hes gettin a camero one day. he wants to nsay hey, jkiyouhiyobuoybvytrrcytj hes still lernin to type. his paus are 2 big. tell brianna hi
Lol will do thanks to you and your pup!!
The hardest part was getting the ball onto the cable had to use a ratchet strap
To pull it closer
Same thing with mine, you just pulled it?, because mine just don’t get closer even with the ratchet strap
Connected the strap to the block holding the cables to the frame underneath the engine and I won’t lie I was nervous it would snap but got the ball in after like an hour
Dude i just replaced my e brake and maybe a month later it broke but this time is different it still has tension ? But just doesn’t click at all or lock .. what do y’all think it could be
Could be the shifter ratcheting mechanism
@@klowny1969 damn if it is that sucks , i bought the whole hand break assembly with cable and hand brake
Myn broke today the same way, I replaced myn last month because the cable snap. This time it had tension but it won’t hold and I opened it up again and it looks like something popped out of place where the teeth go
@@Tlopez0shit crazy bro , turned out the teeth weren’t lined up , it was a bit loose but i lined it back up and now it’s works , i might been pulling too hard
Do you live in the rust belt?
new york..can't get rustier than that lol
@@klowny1969 noticed some rust under that Maro.
5th gen stuff looks like high end or polished over 3rd and 4th gen stuff. GM gonna be GM. BTW I have a 3rd gen that needs a sniper installed. Procrastination is now on year 5. Always good to see you brother!
I remember when you first said you had the sniper lol
I was hoping you would offer to pack your stuff and head to Alabama and install the thing for this old worn out fat man. Meh, lost interest. Be something for my nephews to fight over when I am dead and gone. On a serious note though... i got a fellow that is installing it for me this summer. The 88 GTA may yet live!🤣🤣
Myn just broke today 😭, I gotta carry bricks on me to park at certain places
Sorry to hear
I can still drive it right ? Till I fix it ?
Unless you're on a steep hill, just leave it in first gear. It works until you can get it fixed. On a hill, yes put blocks behind your back wheels.

So for anyone having trouble reconnecting the ball into the clip...
My advice is 2 tools: slip joint pliers and a medium pait of channel locks.
It also helps to remove your exhaust because you will want the space; you can leave the drive shaft.
Loosen up the hand lever assembled so it can move around.
Use the slip joint to grab the ball end and pull with all your might.
Using your free hand use the channel locks to grab the cable at the base so it can't retract.
Then set the slip joint aside so you can insert the ball into the clip.
Now you can tighten everything down.
This is how to do it:

@@klowny1969 I appreciate the link, I just finished doing the job myself, hence why I shared my method for any who may be struggling.
@klowny1969 honestly, I had gone as far as pulling the lever assembly out of the car and tried to study it and wish I'd have noticed that spring. That is definitely much easier because it's not that hard to get that lever out if it's already disconnected like mine was. That video would have been great help. Disconnecting from the brakes unfortunately didn't grant me enough slack. It was frustrating but that's half the fun of DIY mechanic work, learning.
Damn mines just broke on my 2015 ss
Good luck on the fix..don't forget to subscribe 😉
Why in the world did you use a turd gen burnout when you have that 5th gen burnout.....dammit klown
I'm a poor excuse for a klown lol
