My migration over to mirrorless from a DSLR.

I still love my DSLR bodies, but when I got my hands on the Z6 as soon as it was released, I couldn't go back. Now I have the Z8 and don't even think about a D850 unless I wanted a feeling of Nostalgia.
i sold both my D850 and Z6II and once i tested the Z8 in field. First day out i got a BIF shot that in no way would have been possible without 3D and Bird option 100% best image of BIF i had taken to this point. It feels to me like the best mix of 45mb file size, small body, feels in hand like 850, but am just amazed, that AF is another level. Bought the 600pf, coming today, and out saturday at dawn, its inspired me to get out early every weekend in nature. Absolutely love my Z8. Will see how long it takes me to get a 2nd body for sport. Lets see what the Z6III brings or its another z8 when my next season starts.
Oh I have no question that the Z mirrorless is the future.
But you can get a D850 for $2.2k brand new on sale and the 70-200 2.8 FL for $1200 used. The cost to benefit is real.

Yah I see that. although sometimes when I slap some good old glass on mirrorless it brings me back.
850 is best. Z is Just a hype to sell stuff
I have the 850 but the focus for video is horrible. How's the Z9 or any Z for video?
At the moment I would not buy a Z9, definetly would never buy a Z8 { Maybe if I find aa Z8 at a thrift shop in 5 years . . .} But started think about buying another D850 !
Not very clear why. Love my d850 but a z9 is amazing and can be bought sub 4000 used
A real photographer can shoot with any camera or tool. The camera is just a tool. It’s funny to hear you say a certain camera changed your life. 😂
True, but those tools have different features that can enhance the photography experience. But yes, in the end, a camera... is a camera.
I tried with my Samsung the video is absolutely trash compared to iPhone so gear matter

A real photographer makes money with their gear. If you're still delivering 720p videos to clients, you'll be out of business soon, lol.
@@bluemystic7501 just so you get clued in… A photographer shoots photos…a videographer shoots videos. why would a photographer care about 720 p?
How is the auto focus on the D850? Don't want to sell my F mount glass, but mirrorless auto focus, woth eye tracking, is amazing.
AF on a D850 is excellent

In video, is it better than the 850? The focus on the 850 is horrible.
For a few dollars more you could buy a fuji gfxii
All that good stuff and yet it dont shoot raw .
