This one got some DVBBS & Borgeous - Tsunami along with Seven Lions- After Dark vibes the first time i heard the snippets of this, but i wasn't expecting that solo guitar, i was waiting for Takayoshi Ohmura shredding this live but instead we got one of the Western Kami Band performing this for the first time and it was awesome. The exotic middle eastern (Arabic) sound gives to this new track a sort of tale that relates directly to METAL KINGDOM and maybe Divine Attack - Shingeki too, both from this new album. BABYMETAL choreographer MIKIKO's first big hit was "Polyrhythm". Perfume is a dance vocal group that MIKIKO coached before BABYMETAL and is very popular in Japan. When I first saw the title "Metalizm", I thought it might be a homage to Perfume.

You hear "metarizumuzumuzumu" repeated a lot in two sections of the song where in the official lyrics the lines are represented each time by a single "METALIZM." The katakana pronunciation of METALIZM is メタリズム/Metarizumu. Metarizumuzumuzumu = メタリズム/Metarizumu (metal rhythm) + ズムズム/zumuzumu (thrumming (e.g., with excitement)).
Great reaction - and don't have any doubts, BABYMETAL fans will watch you react to the official video and then any number of live performances of that same song because each performance is different and special in its own way. 😁 This was a live performance, but it had the studio audio (and they enhanced the visual effects a bit for the video) - and yes they do tend to over-process the vocals in the studio recordings ... which is one of the main reasons we like the live performances so much - you get Su-metal's natural vocals without it all being messed with the way they do in the studio. I gotta say that I've heard one song that was a disappointment to me. That was the English version of Elevator Girl. Especially after watching A.J. Hartley's analysis video about it and about its differences to the Japanese version.
Love this song. I really hope they play it when I go see them this October. Seeing them twice to hope they do this song at least once. Any BABYMETAL is good BABYMETAL but Live is almost always preferred. Megitsune and Karate are amazing Official videos and must sees. BUT Live is still amazing as well. If you see OFFICIAL then it is most likely an MV with LIVE footage but studio vocals. We have tried to tell you that Suzuka, thegirls and The Kami Band sound so much better LIVE. Most of their studio stuff is way overproduced and they do not need the auto tune garbage. I think this is arguably the best track off BABYMETAL's latest album "The Other One". To me, it's like "Shanti Shanti Shanti, 2.0" ("Shanti Shanti Shanti" is a track off their third album "Metal Galaxy"). As I said before, BABYMETAL is best served live but they do have some very good music videos, and there's no law that says that you can't react to both (if available). In fact, I think you'd be doing both yourself and your viewers a disservice by NOT checking out both. And it isn't like "oh, I already heard that one"; quite often what happens in a MV isn't what's happening on the stage although it is the same song (hell, sometimes even that is altered to some degree!).
