Hi. Rob arranged We're Good, Good 4 U & this one he also co-arranged Dream On, In My Room, Peaches, Time Warp & Something in the Cold Below with either Geoff or Layne & he's also worked on lots of VP's minis.
The arcade is located in the Oviedo mall near PattyCake Productions and yes, Cesar did cry out as his punch stung his hand. The Spanish version of this song was incredibly popular at the time. The final Spanish line sung by Cesar translates to "total eclipse of the love." Fun Facts about the song: In an interview about the pending Broadway run of his hit musical, "Tanz de Vampire," on Broadway [NOTE: the show was called 'Dance of the Vampire" and was a flop due to changes], the song's composer, Jim Steinman, told Playbill magazine "...with 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' [NOTE: called "Totale Finsternis," or "Total Darkness"]. I was trying to come up with a love song and I remembered I actually wrote that to be a vampire love song. Its original title was 'Vampires in Love' because I was working on a musical of Nosferatu, the other great vampire story. If anyone listens to the lyrics, they're really like vampire lines. It's all about the darkness, the power of darkness and love's place in the dark." He has also said he completed the original "Total Eclipse..." specifically for Bonnie Tyler and her vocal qualities.
Sometimes, like Sleeping in the Cold Below, Rob will do the first draft. When Geoff got it back, then he tweaked it, added some Geoff magic and Voiceplayed with it. Other times, Rob gets sole credit. He is very good, arranges for acapella choirs. This is another one where I realized what the lyrics/song meant because of the way they sang it. They are amazing; I love them like crazy!
In addition to Bonnie Tyler’s hit there was a Spanish language duet of this that was very popular. So they lifted some of the lines directly from that. (Not an exact translation, but words that capture the same feeling)
Ashley was also in Running Up That Hill (and there's a "Stranger Things" pinball machine behind her). I also love how much of Geoff's bass line is spent in baritone range... you almost don't even realize he's singing.
Rob arranged one of your favorites-We’re good (also one of my favorites). Definitely enjoyed the 80’s vibe and how they put in the Spanish part. Cesar and Ashley are definitely great in this one!!
Rob does most of the arrangements of their shorts (this one started as a short) from what I’ve seen and he has done several others including We’re Good, Good For You and co- arranged with Geoff for Dream On and Sleeping in the Cold Below. He also arranged Wellerman and I’m sure I’m forgetting some. 😅
@@ZhenYaoYin Most of them are it seems, but not all. They do credit the arranger in the description on the shorts like they do on the long form videos if you are curious on any specifically. 🥰

Gonna go back and re-listen to them! 😍

@@ilonadever8249 That’s cool, I need to start looking out for Rob’s credits! 🤩

That’s cool! I wonder if they got the idea from the Spanish duet… I can imagine Cesar pitching it to Ashley 😜

@@karenponchak5304 Meanwhile I totally forgot that she was in Running Up That Hill until after we finished recording 🙈

@@chih-chaoyang5290 That’s cool! Gonna go back and listen to Rob’s arrangements and see if there’s a distinctive sound to them 😄
Jim Steiman, writer of this song, said this song is a vampire love song

@@thisismetoday7423 There are so many VoicePlay shorts that I love (especially the video game ones lol), good to know they’re arranged by Rob! 🔥

Would love to see you react to the To Love You More arrangement by Voctave featuring Marty Thomas.
@@mmedina418 Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll see if we can make time 💪
Some of the beatbox sounds in the second half sound like Latin percussion instruments.
@@cherylrobinson2597 That’s cool, I never would’ve known! 😮
very pretty but rather sad 😢❤
@@gilliandrysdale5306 The song always had a melancholic vibe to it 🥲
