I really like the shot where the camera is outside the car and looking in! Looks great!
Cheers man
Omg just when I thought there was nothing else to talk about accord euros he blows us away with another wicked video
Haha cheers man and there's a lot more where that came from!
Amazing vid as always man! Keep them coming.
Cheers man will do
Thanks for another useful vid!
Glad you found it helpful!
great video, nice new camera angles :D
Planning to buy a CL9 this summer
Cheers man! Nice
I owned a 2005 typeS in S.Africa it looked exactly the same as the euro R but had semi leather seats,6 speed Alloy gear knob, Indicator stork on the left side and had the k24a3 engine. Good cars
Mmmm lovely vehicle
Good review i have the pre face lift 1 auto I like the red dash looks much race like then blue dash
Nice
Great video! A neat feature of the facelifted accord is the electric folding mirrors (you have a button near the window controls). On the pre-face you have to manually fold the mirrors.
I think that's more of a spec difference as opposed to pfl vs fl. I've got a pfl accord euro as a company car from work atm and it has the power folding mirrors
@@KiwiCarLife accord cl9 type S non facelift has manual folding mirrors, otherwise, and doesen't have premium sound system..
@@TheSilent1998 oh
just got my 2006 manual. full stock family guy owned it and looked after it like a baby for 14 years. got to put some build on it. lol
Nice! Sounds like you've got yourself a nice example
i have prelift 2005 2.0 automat and its very comfortable.
Very nice!
Great video. Do you think had the automatic had a tune it would have been more comparable performance? Or maybe comparing the auto to your 6mt before the tune, how does it hold up?
Yeah with a tune it'd definitely be better... but the manual has shorter gears and a much more direct feeling drive which helps, auto shifts pretty quick tho
My facelift picks up faster if I switch to Manual shiftable ( Auto trans). Great video
Yeah it will
Auto gang here lol. I have an 06 Tsx Cl9. Gonna get a reflash in April hopefully. Tired of the stock tune and 1k vtec. Car dies from 5-6k & tall auto gears don't help.
Yeah if you look at the dyno graphs there is a bit power dip from 5 until vtec. Tune should make a noticeable difference!
I have facelift AT not stock (about 215ps) and im happy
Nice man
Love the vid can you do a CL1 Euro R v CL7 Euro R
Glad you enjoyed it!
Haven't been able to get both Euro R's together unfortunately...
But I have done CL1 vs CL9:

and CL7 vs CL9:

@@KiwiCarLife Yea I have watched them both!! If you need a CL1 Euro R for a vid with a CL7 I have one and live in lower hutt!!

Fun fact - The power increase of the facelift TSX is more significant than advertised. Because of the change in the HP rating system during that period of time, Honda decided to incorporate upgrades to remain competitive in its class. According to them, the 5hp increase is actually closer to 13-15 hp. In other words, if the old system was still used, the facelift would be rated around 215 hp.
The hp numbers for other Hondas at the time went down if they didn't receive upgrades for the new model years.
I see… interesting
Again another great video on those Hondas, I'm looking to buy a Tourer 2.4 automatic ca 2007 facelift when I find a decent one for the right money here in Sweden, so what do you with your knowledge deem a Honda vs a Mazda 6 2.3 wagon same year ca? know they rust a lot so Hondas probably more comfy robust and reliable?! :-)
Yeah I’d go for the Honda
@@KiwiCarLife Cool and thanks for input ;-)
I have an Accord Type-S I love it but the auto transmission is kinda annoying, I'm just glad it makes more power than the NZDM ones so I guess it makes up for its loss in a way
Yeah, as 20 year old auto boxes go, its not half bad though
😍😍😍
Lovely
Hey bro I want to get a mugen style rear lip for my luxury facelift accord, will the lip fit on the facelift rear bumper or do I have to get a pre facelift rear bumper?
Depends, there’s a facelift and pre facelift mugen rear skirt. You need to find out which one it is and that’ll determine whether it’ll fit on your car or not
Hey bro I want to get a fd2 steering wheel for my cl9, for the paddle shifters to work do I have to hook it up to the ecu or…? How does it work?
Nah hook it up to the switches in the shift knob
Does your Euro S come stock with those pedal covers - If not, where did you get them from please?
Yeah comes stock with them
Does the 2.0 lack punch in lower revs in your opinion?
In relaxed driving about 2k-3k rpm
Dunno haven't driven one sorry
Would using the Tiptronic help with those sluggish gear changes?
I was using tiptronic mode the whole time
Hey. What are your thoughts on the CU2 6spd gearbox? I recently upgraded from my cl9 auto and this feels much better but alot of people say otherwise
Having driven both I reckon the CL9 gearbox feels nicer, but the CU2 gearbox has far better ratios for sure.
@@KiwiCarLife even the auto? I plan to get a tune when I sell the old one! However I'm not a huge fan of a super sensitive throttle, what's the change in throttle like?
@@chrisskelly6408 oh mate been over a year since I drove a cu2 manual so can't remember too much about it. Auto box is smooth and relatively quick shifting but gear ratios are far too long...
Hello there! Just wondering - what is the stock injector size (cc) for CL9 K24A3 engine? Is it the same as K24A2 USDM K24A2 which is 310cc or 270cc like the rest of K24? Thank you
Not a clue sorry hahah - if A2 uses 310cc, A3 should use the same as I have not heard injector size being a difference between the two, only camshaft and valves
@@KiwiCarLife thank you so much for the information
Is there a chance you can compare your accord with the 2.0 liters CL7 in a future video?
Already done it! ua-cam.com/video/Tg3eWxRIb3U/v-deo.html
Hi Liam,
Just recently purchased my first CL9 Euro. Manual but non facelift. And stumbled across your array of great vids on them.
Just wondering however if you would know anything about dash cluster changes. ?
Mine is an 03 and I’d like to upgrade both the steering wheel and gauge cluster…is this possible or has Honda had a wiring harness / plug change between the two versions…? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
That's getting beyond my knowledge, but at a guess your main issue would be with the screen the facelift cars have. At a guess, the PFL's wouldn't have the necessary wiring or sensors to produce the information the screen requires, so you'll be left with a dead screen in the middle. Changing the steering wheel shouldn't be an issue, but again you'll have the issue of those two buttons down the side not doing anything.
Personally I wouldn't bother. Get your steering recovered if it's worn, and leave the gauges. Too much effort for too little gain.
@@KiwiCarLife yes I was beginning to come to that conclusion after doing some more research. And cheers a bunch for the reply.
Could you combat that slow increase on the auto gears by using the tiptronic or D3, instead of D, i've noticed it revs a lot higher earlier and throttle response is much better
Not really tbh, shift points aren't altered between D and D3, so the speed or revs you'll achieve between each gear will be the same regardless.
All D3 does is stop it from going any higher than 3rd gear which tbh is quite useful around town.
In the 0-100 vid I was using tiptronic mode
Will go way harder in drive not tiptronic. Not a fair test
@@flexgggjl1309 You think so? Elaborate, Honda AT is quite different
@@flexgggjl1309 disagree. It shifts at 6500rpm in d, you can rev it right out to 7200 in tiptronic.
did you have factory clutch master cylinder when doing this in your cl9?
Yes
I have a 2004 euro. I was wondering if I could replace the front end with the face-lift bits?
Sure can, will have to do bumper lights and bonnet tho. Personally I’d just buy a facelift
@@KiwiCarLife yeah that's the plan. I'm saving up to buy the euro r.
speaking of fuel economy, whats the best u have gotten out of ur facelift manual? I have an auto facelift euro and easily get 800km to a tank of gas ( 7.1 L/100km) is the manual better than that?
Over the last 12,000km I've averaged 9.1l/100km, but if I did a lot more motorway miles I could probably get better.
In this video I do some hypermiling and get somewhere in the high 4's:
ua-cam.com/video/EGeYMHAYSkw/v-deo.html
Good comparison. Id have preferred a facelift for the MPG readout, i have a UK manual 2.4, gears are WAYYYYY too long! Getting a reflash soon. I know you can put the ep3 gearbox on them but its just £££
Yeah I really want to get a cl7 euro r box for mine but they're just impossible to find
@@KiwiCarLife yh! Hey do you guys get the prelude 2.2 over there?
Would be nice to see a rolling race between your cl9 and a prelude 2.2
@@anthonybelton-ford3124 yeah we do, got a mate with one that I took on track. Might hit him up
I did 1st-5th EP3 gears, kept accords 6th, 5.1 final drive, new synchros, new clutch, lightweight flywheel, new clutch master cylinder and MFactory LSD, made a world of a difference but very expensive. The way it picks up compared to stock gearbox is night and day. Cost me just shy of £3000 😫
@@mephist7 yeah that's over 7k here and as much as I would love to do that, I literally can't even find a gearbox to begin with. Most wrecked euro R's have their K20A's sold as complete packages and people aren't willing to split the motor and gbox...
I know you love the manual but how do you think the auto is in comparison when it comes to performance? I just got an immaculate euro that's had load spent on the wheels coilovers and sound its the cleanest one I've seen but it's auto. The gears are really long and I keep hearing great things about the manual. If the right mods are made do you think the auto will still hold up?
Absolutely I just drove a modified auto accord and it was absolutely brilliant
@@KiwiCarLife awesome I'm excited now thanks man. I've been loving the channel.
For the automatic tiptronic mode, did it let you shift into first? My CL9 will not let me. I have to use 2-5 unless I’m at full stop.
Yeah you can put it into first at anything under about 30 or so
@@KiwiCarLife Sweet. May need to have mine inspected then. Thank you for the response KiwiCarLife!
@@xenonsaccord4447 All good man
Hey kid my tsx has a supercharger and a hondata tune and it moves well and is automatic

Do a comparison between the cu2 and CL9!
Got it in the pipelines!
@@KiwiCarLife I currently have a DC5 Type S (Australian spec is more inline with your Type R, I believe?) and a 6 speed CU2. Was a close call between the CL9 and CU2 when it came to buying a daily.
@@oscarkabowski8413 Cool man! I'd love a CU2 manual but they are near impossible to find here unfortunately. As the CL9's are more plentiful I went with one of them.
@@KiwiCarLife yeah even here it was a real mission finding one with the manual and the luxury options. I think I rate the build quality and exterior dimensions of the CL9 more though. CU2 is not much smaller than the regular Accords from the same generation.
@@oscarkabowski8413 Yeah and not to mention it's heavier than the CL9 too. Interesting thoughts on the interiors though, having owned both, the CU2 interior to me is much nicer
The automatic have a limited of 3k revs and will launch really solidly from there if it's dry. I think you'd get between 8-8.5 launching it perfectly
I literally floored the throttle and brake. It cannot rev any higher, and this was done on a slightly downhill road timed using racelogic vbox. Don't think so.
@@KiwiCarLife yeah right hmm. Yeah mine goes to 3k on launch and will launch with perfect traction still if it's dry. Ahwell either way the auto is slower aha
@@lilsmithers8681 Mmm yeah I couldn't get it to go any faster aye
@@KiwiCarLife Have seen very promising turbo results from a stock k24 though. ECU reflash and or tune and even the autos are pretty good little sleeper rockets.
