There's one thing I'll really miss after closing the eshop: that cute little shopping bag (the eshop mascot). It was so heartwarming seeing that little thing bow after buying something or running around while a game was downloading.
Kid Icarus Uprising is so underrated and was probably my most played game there outside of Monster Hunter 3 and 4. I miss it so much and hope we get a reboot.
You dare to tease Dragon Quest in the opening sizzle reel then don't have it in your list? For shame! Seriously though, Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS is the best way to play that game, it adds a ton of QoL features, bonus dungeons, a whole extra post-game dungeon + new ending, more enemies, more items, a photo mini-game, and two new playable characters. It may not be as crisp graphically as the PS2 version and the audio certainly takes a hit, but who listens to Dragon Quest trumpets on full blast anyway? Dragon Quest VIII was the game that turned the series from a cute little nostalgia memory of my old NES Dragon Warrior 1 days to a full blown obsession where I had to collect the entire series!
Fantastic video Bossman. As you know the 3DS is my favorite console, and it's what got me back into gaming. Even though your list has a lot of earlier releases, its still filled with absolute bangers from top to bottom. I won't list 25 but will def do a top 5. 1. Super Mario 3D Land - The game that made me really want to collect for 3DS. The almost diorama style levels were just so wonderful to look at. 2. Pokémon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon - Pokémon Sun was the first game I got along with my 3DS, Ultra Sun was the came I put over 1000 hours into. Breeding and battling online. If it werent for the pure nostalgia of Pokémon Gold/Silver, US/UM would be my favorite Pokémon games of all time. You should definitely play this with your daughter. I think she'd really like exploring around the Alola Region. 3. Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology - Being that Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time, Radiant Historia hits so many of those Chrono Trigger spots just right. One of my JRPGs of all time. You must get this. 4. Kirby Planet Robobot - I quite enjoyed Triple Deluxe and before I played Planet Robobot, I was a bit worried that it was a bit overhyped. I was wrong. This game get all the praise it deserves. Best Kirby game of all time imo. 5. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - It's kind of hard to choose between these two. While overall I like OoT over ALBW, it a remastered port, albeit one of the best ports ever done. ALBW is an original game and my favorite 2D Zelda of all time. So I have to give the nod to both here. You can't go wrong with either. Also right there with you on Majoras Mask. Honorable mention: Ace Attorney 123 Japanese Physical. What a wonderful port of three classic games. Its shame we never got a physical in the west but at least the Japanese physical has English Support! My one recommendation if you don't have, is Ultimate NES Remix. I'm sure you have the Wii-U games, but to me this the perfect pick up and play 3DS game. The fact that it's a first party game with tons of fan service and Warioware-esque micro challenges makes this an essential 3DS game. The 3DS will always hold a special place in my heart. At 230 games I've collected almost all the essentials. But I don't think I will ever stop collecting for it. Very glad to see you showing it some love before its finally put to rest. Great video Bossman.
Thanks bud! I fully intend to play Radiant Historia one day. I just remember being really bewildered there was no 3D effect when I first booted it up. I think it would have really popped with the 3D, which is a gimmick I adore. I'll have to get over that disappointment and play it properly.
I’d have Fantasy Life & Yokai Watch 2 on that list. You’re going to love Kirby Planet Robobot. I’m not sure it’s better than Triple Deluxe… it’s just ‘different’…
So... I haven't played the Theatrythm games (even though I have them), but my favourite 3DS game is Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai. I can play that forever and ever,
Excellent video. The number one that I always recommend is Stella Glow. That game is great and has some of the best music in gaming as a whole. Dragon Quest VII & VIII are both great. I really enjoyed Fire Emblem Echoes as well. The Pokémon games on 3DS are a lot of fun too, just too easy.
I love all 3 Theatrhythm games for the 3ds, I recently got a copy of the Dragon Quest one!! Hundred of hours on those games, same with the new one on switch!!
Great list Jordan! Happy to say I own every single game you just mentioned. I even just imported Dragons Quest Theatrhythm for my japanese 2ds ll! I loved the Final Fantasy one so much on my regular 3ds I needed the Dragons Quest version too!
Its funny how many creators I'm finding doing these 3ds/wii u game lists that have popped up recently thanks to the closure of the eShop. The one thing I've found odd is that no matter how large the list, nobody happens to put one of my most favorite and likely a lot of other fans of the series on their lists, that being Monster Hunter games. 4U specifically is probably one of the largest/longest and most content filled games on the 3ds and is one of the few games that shine in terms of performance. I don't know if it's embarrassing to say that I have over 430 hours on it alone and about 160 more on Generations. They're honestly such a fun way to pass time and just when you think you're done, there's more to do and even revisit. Definitely deserves an honorable mention even if it isn't everyone's cup of tea to play.
I think I played the demo and the timing was really off for me. But to be fair that was before I'd gotten into the genre too much. Have to thank the number 1 game for really getting me into it!
Theatrhythm Curtain Call was the first 3DS game I picked up after getting the console again - great price and even better game for final fantasy or music fans
My favorite 3DS game of all time is Fantasy Life. Right after that comes Majora's Mask 3D. I also enjoyed Luigis Mansion 2, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros., Mariokart 7 and Super Smash Bros.
In my first and only trip to China, I went to Beijing, then took a train tour of Western China (Yunnan province, Kun Ming, Xishuang Banna rainforest, stone forest, some big buddhist temple, etc. etc.) then on 2nd last day of 3-week trip we went to McDonalds and my camera got pick pocketed. All my entire trip's photos were gone.
Stupid me ignored the 3DS during it's lifetime after not being too impressed with the very first model. However, when the last New 2DS models went on sale, I bought one together with a few games, and I had so much fun with it that I own one of each model plus two special editions of this awesome console by now. Simply had to catch them all even though I hate Pokemon. And I would definitely have cried like a baby if someone had stolen one of them during my daily commute to work. What a sad story, mate.
I fell off the 3DS probably around the same time as you. Something about how they rolled out that console, with a naming convention that was too similar to the DS and without enough to distinguish it as a separate console, really turned me off to collecting for it. It just didn't seem like it was going anywhere. 3D gimmick at the height of 3D hype. I haven't played Kid Icarus Uprising, so I might check that out, and I did miss FE Awakening, so that'll get picked up eventually. But with a Switch in hand, I'm really not looking forward to going back to the 3DS for much of anything really.
For my money, DeSu:Overclocked is the best RPG on the system. The story, music, and gameplay are all top notch, and the amount of content is outstanding. My most played 3DS game at over 300 hours. DeSu2 is very good also, but I slightly prefer the first for its atmosphere and characters. Bravely Second is the best game in its series, held back only by needing to play the first game to get the most from the story. Speaking of which, the pacing problems in the second half of Bravely Default are very overblown in my opinion. It is more than worth it to see the end, rarely has a game made me feel so much at the ending! The one glaring oversight to me here is Dragon Quest. Both 7 and 8 are worth playing, especially 8!
My personal top 25 in no order 25 The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D 24 The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D 23 The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds 22 Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy 21Resident Evil Revelations 20 Bravely Default 19 7th Dragon III Code VFD 18 Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia 17 Fire Emblem Fates 16 Fire Emblem Awakening 15 Super Street Fighter IV 3D 14 Tekken 3D Prime 13 Dead or Alive Dimensions 12 Dragon Quest VII Fragments of the Forgotten Past 11 Dragon Quest VIII Journey of The Cursed King 10 Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker 9 Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked 8 Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner Soul Hackers 7 Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse 6 Shin Megami Tensei IV 5 Xenoblade Chronicles 3D 4 Super Mario 3D World 3 Mario Kart 7 2 Super Smash Bros For Nintendo 3DS 1 Tales of the Abyss

@@ABitMoreJordan Idk. One other video said that the first DLC is available around the 30 hour mark. And the final dlc is available at the end of the game, around the 80hr Mark 🫠
I have one question about my New N2DS XL: I insert 128GB into my New 2DS XL system and it said Could not detect an SD Card. I don't understand why? Maybe it too much spaces that the system can't handle. Does it needs to be 64GB, 32GB or less? Explain me please. Thank You!
You need to use a PC or Mac to reformat the card in to FAT32 or something like that. Just google it and it’s a quick fix. Takes maybe a few minutes to read the instructions and then do it. If I can do it, so can anyone 😃
What are you talking about with the whole "bringing the 3ds back from the dead" stuff? When both Mario games came out the system had only been on the market for 8 months. Research is key to making videos like this.
Were you around at that time? I was. It was doom and gloom and Nintendo slashed the price of the system. After both Mario games released the system finally took off. What I said is true.
i wonder if there is anypoint buying animal crossing new leaf with the new horizones on switch and me hardly ever picking up my 3ds anymore not to mention mega AC burn out ugg, i have not touched AC on my switch for 2 years now... hmm. such a shame im not rich enough to buy enough games... thank god .. the completionist bought out the shops. i wonder if i shoudl buy robobot... hmmm. i did invest 40 bucks for samus returns. and gotta find my NSMB2 Cartridge.. and re download the dlc for the game..
I find the story of your pick-pocketed 3DS heart breaking matey, no shame in shedding a tear... What's the human race coming to? (sorry, I normally close with a joke)
@@ABitMoreJordan You make some good content, but you ruin it by begging for money, subs and so forth. People don’t need to be told to subscribe. If we like what we see we know what to do.
The simple fact is if you don’t remind people they mostly won’t subscribe. I’ve been doing UA-cam the better part of a decade on various channels. 0.1% of people can’t bare the sound of it if it and tend not to watch again. But it doesn’t really matter because why would any UA-cam creator want someone so fickle following them anyways. You get the odd complaint like this but most people are tolerant enough.
@@ABitMoreJordan Quit whining and accept the feedback like a Big Boy! And remember, you’re in the service business here so the ‘customer’ is always right. As a viewer of the type of content you put out, I will subscribe, like and leave a comment if the video is good. I support a myriad of worthy channels that way. Look at Happy Console Gamer - the second you put on his videos it’s instant comment begging. It’s very annoying, especially after watching two ads you’ve seen a billion times already. Think of the viewer experience next time you go mooching on these videos. Mature channels don’t do that.

The eShop did have it's charm! But I'm happy I don't have to go through how slow and laborious it was to navigate anymore haha
I know alot of people have probably not experienced this, but the system transfer animations are uncannily done.

i wonder if there is anypoint buying animal crossing new leaf with the new horizones on switch and me hardly ever picking up my 3ds anymore not to mention mega AC burn out ugg, i have not touched AC on my switch for 2 years now... hmm. such a shame im not rich enough to buy enough games... thank god .. the completionist bought out the shops. i wonder if i shoudl buy robobot... hmmm. i did invest 40 bucks for samus returns. and gotta find my NSMB2 Cartridge.. and re download the dlc for the game..
If you're burned out on AC, I don't think New Leaf will change your mind.
@@ABitMoreJordan ya i figured as much.. and the fact i dont boot up my 3DS so rarely. it be kinda pointless. ha ha ha
No Planet Robobot? :(
I haven't played it yet
It's only goodbye if you want it to be .
true!
I find the story of your pick-pocketed 3DS heart breaking matey, no shame in shedding a tear...
What's the human race coming to?
(sorry, I normally close with a joke)
The only small part I like about that ordeal is that the cartridge inside the 3DS was Rhythm Thief, a nice coincidence
@@ABitMoreJordan how many games did you have digitally tho? i heard games are locked to the console..
@@kennycarter5682 Actually I had to send my new 3DS into Nintendo and they did some magic on it and I was able to access all my stuff.
@@ABitMoreJordan nothing like nintendo coming in clutch to save account access!
Sucks you got pickpocketed in West Taiwan 😭 radiant historian best game
I wasn't in Taiwan I was in Ch.... Oh I see what you did there 😂
honestly MM3D > OOT3D
A lot of people would say that
Begging for subscriptions, trying to flog merch and asking for handouts…
You just know the video is an excuse to panhandle 🤦🏻♂️
Welcome! Hope you enjoy the content. Feel free to skip those parts if your ears are too fickle for it
@@ABitMoreJordan You make some good content, but you ruin it by begging for money, subs and so forth.
