I had this running on a Waterbox 20 for several months, had it set to max on the pump and never was able to get it low enough in the water column to ever get any decent skimmate out of it. I wonder if I had a bad pump? Attempted to contact their customer service and got the brush off.
The older models had an issue with the pump and were unable to produce enough micro bubbles. If you call or email and explain they will send you the correct part to fix this.
Do you think I could use this on a 40-gallon display tank (32-gallon water volume) and a 15-gallon sump (9-gallon water volume? Totaling about 41 gallons of water? I the drain cup the limiting factor? I would put it in the Sump and probably manufacture an additional drain collection cup if needed? if not I am looking for a compact quiet model to fit in a smaller sump. possibly the Z-6 Bubble Magus?
Agreed. I returned mine because the dang thing slipped into the tank and adjusted its level all the time and just wouldn’t skim very much at all. IMO this product wasn’t functional at all. It’s a really expensive air stone lol.
I love the looks of tunze 904 because it has a black collection cup to hide the yucky waste. I read an article that said it was a suface doc(whatever that means) Is that different then this type? DOes it just get suface oils ect? I think you sell both so thats why I am asking! Ihave a nuvo 20 and cant get it to collect skimate, so I also want something that looks nice hanging over the top and the tunze is black like the tank! I wish this was!

I am interested in purchasing the Eshopps In-Sump Nano Protein Skimmer for my tank setup which will be a Fiji 32G Ext. I am also building a sump using a 15 gallon Aqueon tank which will hold about 8 gallons making total water volume 40G. I know the skimmer is only rated up to 35g however I heard you would rather go smaller than bigger with skimmers. Additionally, I don't want a big sump with more water change so space is a premium. So I guess I have two questions: Do you think the collection cup is going to fill up too fast and has anyone investigated manufacturing a bigger cup or adding and additional collection cup to it? thanks for the help.
@@BRStv I got it to fit in our 14g peninsula. I just had to turn it to find a good location. And don't use the magnet mount. It is a tight fit but I made it work. It will only fit in the middle chamber and nothing else will fit there now. Just FYI.
@@christopherst.thomas6173 Hi, did you squeeze it into the middle section ? I’m considering getting this skimmer. Concern it might not fit , because the middle section is only 10cm wide . How’s the skimming result ?
I just bought it from my local aquarium shop and set everything up and it produces microscopic bubbles every time, I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or will they go away after it breaks in.
How so did it break? Curious? If the pump stopped working; soak it in white vinegar or a pump clean solution. I put a chopstick in the big open side and flicked the little blue wheel. It came back on. Cheers
This skimmer is designed for smaller nano systems, so you should be able to go multiple days without having to empty the cup. All dependent on how much there is in the water for the skimmer to remove, of course.

Call them they do a good job at sending you a new pump
My tunze 9001 would wet skim a lot in my wb20. Just got rid of it and started using it on my 40 breeder

Have they fixed the magnet yet?
I just parches this skimmer but I have to use fine pad on the skimmer to cut those little tiny bobbles
Which fine pad did u use?
hi this skimmer will fix on coralife led cube 32-Gallon ?????
great channel
i approve this skimmer.
Thomas you always Superb!
Hi, can this be fitted to the rear chamber (second chamber) of Waterbox 20g? Please help.
Where could i purchase only the foam insert for the bubble trap?

but WHAT about the noise level ! I'm looking for a quiet skimmer for my RSM nano XL because the noice is so annoying!
I wonder if this can fit into my waterbed peninsula 25 filter sock chamber ?
I really wanted to like this skimmer but the collection cup is extremely tight fitting and hard to remove. The magnet is very weak.

Hi. Will this work on my Aqua one60 (100l) aquarium? Will it fit in the back chaimer?
Great, this is exactly what I need for my aquarium. Thanks so much for finding this skimmer.
This is an ad, but the skimmer still looks good
They don’t recommend skimmers for tanks under 20g, which is what this is targeted for.

The magnetic mount is undersized and is guaranteed to drive you insane.
With this work for 13.5g Salt water?
Will this fit in a deskmate Mariana?
Yes it will :)
Is there a pump replacement available for this skimmer?
Looks nice. Unfortunately it's still too big for my AIO but, what're you gonna do? Thanks for the vid :)

Will this fit in an order innovative marine nuvo 10 cube with a Kessil light mount in center, and a small heater in the center compartment as well?
The footprint of this skimmer is 4.5" x 2.25". With the middle chamber of the IM10 being only 4" wide, it will unfortunately not fit.

How well would it work in a biocube 32
You'll want to confirm fit, but this little skimmer would work well for a tank in the 30-50 gallon range.
hey guys I need help. I have a redsea 130D 35gallon tank and need a nano skimmer what do you guys recommend?. thank you
If only they made one the size shown in the thumbnail!
They got a lot of trust in that magnet mount.
As long as you stay within the glass thickness recommendations, it's a pretty strong hold 🙂
Can this skimmer fit into back of innovative marine Nuvo 14 ?

If only I could get one here in the UK 😭
don't they ship over there?

Let it run for a while and sometimes the bubbles will go away after a slight biofilm is allowed to form.

@@BRStv I wanna include an update. So there's burley any bubbles escaping now. It's been skimming good so far these past couple days sense I got it.
What solved it for me was putting in the filter floss at the bottom of the skimmer. Here it’s a sponge
Is it worth it??
can i run this in a 5 gallon standard?
Even though this skimmer is small, it will be too large for a 5 gallon aquarium.
What skimmer can u recommend for a 5 gallon?
How to order from India??
Ooooor you could just do a 5 gallon water change weekly and call it good! 😂
Water changes are certainly a great tool for nano tanks! 🙂
Wonder if this would fit in the evo 13.5
I really thought this was small
