When I was younger, I remember my family was very poor but I bought 2 clown fish with my savings, and didn’t know they live on seawater. Every week my father would take me to the beach and collect seawater, we would wait for the sand to settle down and scoop the seawater up. I miss my dad

Finally, there's someone that really cares about this hobby and admits that tanks under 30cm are TOO SMALL to keep fishes !!!!! No matter who says that it's 1 fish every 5 gallons, those are only an excuse for shops to sell more!! ... these tanks can only host corals in my opinion and I'm really happy to see that isn't my thought only. My advice is that if your unsure about your water quality, do more water changes and use an aditive or two. My local shop suggested Fuel from AquaVitro, I also use Reef Energy Plus Coral Nutrition from Red Sea. Together, they cost me less than $40 American. PH (water purity) and Kh (Alkalinity) can also heavily impact coral health, so a good reef buffer wouldn't be a bad idea, I saw one at my local pet shop for another $15 American. Buying rocks from your local shop is going to be the cheapest and most convenient option, too. 1lb per gallon (.45kg per 4 liters) same with sand. This will also help buffer your system to keep that preferred PH and Kh.

It costs the same as the ebay tank you bought but it's twice as big, comes with a sump compartment to hide the pump/heater and support some media, plus it's bigger so it can support fish. It comes with a light that can grow all the softies & lps you have in there too. Perfect entry level aquarium.

@@porcu12345 nearly every review of the evo, the lights and pump have had to be replaced. You’re better off buying a simple tank and buying what you need to begin with instead of paying for an all in one then modding it and spending triple the initial cost.

@@corey1788 That's simply not true. The pump is perfectly fine, and most people are going to add a powerhead to their set up regardless so it isn't a replacement. The stock light can handle softies and LPS, the only reason it gets upgraded is when people want to A) grow SPS or B) improve colours of all corals, and then they are typically upgrading it with a light that costs more than the entire Evo set up (A1 Prime being the most common). Most people start with the Evo then upgrade over time as they develop as a marine aquarist. They don't buy the Evo then immediately replace everything.
The whole point of the Evo is that it's a perfect start point. Everything comes in one bundle so there's no risk of buying the wrong equipment or things you don't need. The baseline equipment is solid enough to handle every entry level coral and a lot of mid-difficulty corals, which is exactly what a beginner needs. It's an extremely cheap and efficient way to get into the marine aquarium hobby. They can buy their $200 lights, skimmers and auto dosers when they are ready for the next step, which is likely when they'll want a bigger aquarium anyway.

This is really cheap for a reef tank. And this reef tank is really really basic. Its looks good but its the cheapest what I've ever seen and I think there is nearly no way to get a reef tank cheaper than this.

A tank that size can happily house Common (Ocilaris) Clownfish or fish of a similar size. If you really want an eye catcher, and wanna get risky, a Purple or an Orchid Dottyback is an amazing fish. I'd house either one alone in that tank, however.

Question my friend. Do you not cycle a tank if your not putting fish in? I'm confused. I'm planning on setting up a 10 gallon soon and plan on waiting a good while before I get 2 very small fish.
