Cool ...good to know that the Mopar product works that way. I'm gonna go to my local dealer to buy that for my Santa Fe.. Lol.
A clean intake system the way to go. Thanks for watching. Please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Another great bit of info. Thank you.
Thanks for watching bud
Another good explanation J.T. Stellantis must recommend when to change plug wires? My van did not come with a service manual. Something the service advisor could upsell. Coolant change interval as well. Ot much else that can be done.
Yes, all you mention have service change intervals except maybe plug wires. Its hard to put a life span on secondary ignition parts such as a coil or plug wires ide suspect.
👍👍 thank you
Thanks for watching bud
@@OnlineMechanicTips thank you
Your some of your videos have helped 👍
i agree on the tune up ,, a pcv use to be standard operating procure as well.
Use to be??? I still should be imo. Thanks for watching bud.

Very good Video, alot of new techs out there fresh out of school or DIYers just getting started end up running in circles and throwing parts at the engine chasing down the small gremlins, and forgetting the basics, especially a good Ol Italian Tune up can clear up alot of driveability issues, especially on city driven cars
Yes, good point bud.
What OBD scanner do you have? Does it have the flash integration feature? Or is that a separate product?
We do not use a hand held stand alone scanner.
Can I walk into the dealer and buy the mopar combustion cleaner? Getting my things together to do my pentastar soon.
Yes
@Online Mechanic Tips what's your opinion on Lucas Fuel Additive? Does it help cut down carbon build-up?
I've never used any of it so I don't have much of an opinion on it. Sorry bud
hi JT, greetings from Poland. Is it possible to use throttle body cleaner instead of combustion cleaner?
Thanks for the tip. Can the cleaner cause hydrolock in the engine?
Its more fuel based than water based. You cant compress water. This combustion cleaner will simply blend with the fuel mixture and burn out tail pipe.. I been doing my special liquid valve job for over 2 decades with no problem bud.
Hey JT, are fuel additives good to use every once in a while? Like Techron fuel additive, Or is that mess just a scam?
Maybe I'm over thinking this but I would be concerned about a chunk of carbon getting stuck under a valve or possibly scoring a cylinder wall.
Nope, you not over thinking anything. Thats a good reason to be concerned. But now I question your motives, are you aiming to remove any carbon build up on these valves??? If so be aware that the break down build up has to go somewhere. It will simply blend with the air fuel mixture and burn out the tail pipe in the form of maybe black smoke. In this case, mission accomplished. After ive done my spray soak, when I finally start the car, it will smoke badly but once it burn off and the cats clean it up, all is well.
@@OnlineMechanicTips I have had the intake off twice, once for a bad fuel injector and once for a roller rocker (tic) which I replaced and I never thought of looking at the valves. I notice what seems to be a very slight miss while in gear at idle. No miss fires on my scan tool so your video made me want to try this cleaner for the valves. 3.2 with 75,000 miles. Thanks for the great videos.
@@rollieevans6292 YW, A lot of peeps add additives on every other fill up to prevent this. Like I mentioned in the video, this was a huge problem in the past. Not so much now because the fuel industry goals are different.
JT… If needed could you spray the Combustion Cleaner into the Throttle Body while the Engine is running, or introduce it through the EGR Inlet ? 🤔
I do it while running if my goal is to de-carbonize the complete intake system
Question for you I have a 2012 Ram 1500 with a p0343 misfire code. I changed the plugs and coil packs and still get the same cylinder 3 misfire? Truck starts right up but runs a bit rough?
Hey bud, are you have camshaft or misfire problem? Whats the name of the code? Also what eng in this truck?
Hello yes it says misfire on the code reader the engine is 5.7 Hemi and yes I’m a subscriber to the channel.
Also the code is p0303 my bad
@@kenmason1969 hey bud, this the years of the Hemi lifter problems. You could very well have internal cam lobe problem needing lifters and camshaft. I suggest you do or get done a compression test. All of this is if you sure there's no intake leak or a injector failure
Actually I had someone do a check on it and the fuel injector was operating good he said it sounded like maybe the cam or lifter’s were bad which is a common problem with these Hemi motors
Aren't you afraid of hydro locking the engine when spraying the cleaner on the valves? especially on the cylinders where the valves are open. Do you somehow dry it out before start up?
No im not afraid of that, and no I do not dry it out but I understand your concern. If you read the instructions on the back, it tells you to soak the intake (whether valves are open or not) It will simply compress and burn out the tail pipe. Not restrict the pistons from moving up and down.
I like you you think. I
Thanks for watching bud.
I thought carbon only builds up on the intake valves of engines that have direct injection?
I have never seen carbon on the intake valve of engines of with port injection. Please advise. Thanks.
Theres nothing to advise. Yes direct injection comes with problems like carbon build up in the intake and on the intake valves due to crankcase ventilation but most consumers or diy guys not sure. We just make it a habit to PM and inspect an clean during a tune up.
