  • Forefoot walking demonstration.
This was highly requested in the comments from the "How to Walk" video.
If this video receives enough likes, I will provide more demonstrations at different paces, terrain, elevation and footwear.
This demonstration for walking barefoot or wearing barefoot shoes without any cues or guidance.
Look at this video with fresh eyes without any influence from me or anyone else.
Watch the pace, elevation, side to side, and front to back.
Walking at a slow pace, below what I would term cardio or Intentional walking.
It is one thing to claim how to walk, but If you aren't able to demonstrate walking barefoot, then whatever method you are promoting is invalid.
This method of walking will relieve your heel spurs, back pain, plantar fasciitis and other ailments that heel striking has caused.
This method is for barefoot or barefoot shoe wearers Only.
Conventional footwear lacks the flexibility and level sole that makes this natural way of walking possible.

I just started barefoot walking a few months ago, at the age of 70, in order to improve my posture, proprioception, and endurance. Your videos have helped me a lot. I am using Whitin shoes, which have a toe box with enough room to allow me to flare my toes up as I stride the way you do. When I walk, I pay attention to keeping my rib cage erect and focus on short strides, “reaching” with my toes, “landing” my foot like an airplane with a midsole strike, and rolling from the outside edges to the ball as the stride proceeds. I am working on improving my toe flexibility with Yoga Toe spacers worn twice a day. I think I am lucky that I am not having to correct damage caused by wearing tight shoes, as I have worn nothing but Birkenstocks for many years, and I have lways walked barefoot at home. In just a few months, I have seen great improvements, including my ability to keep my balance on uneven sidewalks and to walk down steps one foot after the other instead of one at a time. Thank you for your help!

I neglected to mention that I also focus on powering each stride from the hamstring and glute.

Hey, I, too, started barefoot walking at the age of 70. I started walking everyday to help clear up brain fog and depression, then for some reason I decided to walk barefoot in the grass at a local park. I loved it and I felt better when I did it. I have walked over a mile barefoot in the park. I have toughened my feet so I can walk on rougher surfaces I have even hiked barefoot. Now I am barefoot as much as I can and when I can’t be barefoot I wear lightweight canvas shoes with out socks. Wish I would of discovered this years ago. I do have to be careful not to overdo a good thing.😃

Thank you so much when all the other creator talk about forefoot striking instead of heel striking I thought I'm supposed to walk on my toes, some things may seem obvious, but they are not obvious until you make them obvious. So thank you again!

Great content. I'm quite long, and lean, and have developed a strategy with that in mind. Back in the 1970s when I was reading historical fiction the western author Louis L'amour would write that the trails that the Indians made were consistently narrow. move forward to the bare foot era, and Born to run brought these together. I noticed that if I lift my chin and gaze at the horizon as I walked that my feet would swing around each other, and I would walk in a line like those Indians of old. In so doing my weight distribution is forced onto the outside of the foot preventing pronation. Europeans would trapes the land with their insensitive booted feet, and each foot would take parallel paths to each other creating a path rather than a trail. Another thing is that when the fore foot makes ground contact first the bodies forward pitch changes so you have more stability on slopes, and so you are less likely to go arse over kite. If you jog in stationary position your body takes on your correct posture automatically along with a fore foot contact. In fact you cannot jog in position with a heel strike. I find even barefoot shoes destroy my forward landing walking gate. Anything heavier than a moccasin. keep up the good work. Cheers.

I’m really enjoying your videos. I’ve been wearing spreaders, bought FiveFinger shoes and have been building my foot strength. This walk tho, it’s making me use a whole different set of muscles or I’m doing it wrong? It seems heel strike and drag is a very lazy way of walking?

Thank you so much for your informative videos! They have helped me a lot as I try to “re-learn” how to walk. I used to walk very fast as a heal striker, and most people would struggle to keep up with me. As I am trying to adopt this correct way of walking, I am very slow to get around and dealing with lots of calf muscle fatigue as I retrain everything, and even though that is diminishing over time, I also think this technique requires a lot more energy of the body and tires me out more quickly. Hopefully over time, I won’t be able to notice the difference. I want to be able to get back to walking at my fast pace. Is this a realistic goal? Is there a different technique for “how to walk barefoot (fast pace)”?

I have a silly question I hope you all don’t mind but someone made fun of me for walking in the side walk without shoes and told me I am going to get worms and bacteria for walking without shoes . Now here in florida specially I am living in a downtown complex the grass doesn’t look natural to me so I chose the pavement at least one time is that a good idea ? Or we have to walk on the grass ?

Could you please elaborate which muscle you use for a move forward ? I have chronic back pain due to super tight left TFL , and I just discover the reason recently . Now when I use my hip flexors and my glute to push foward , it made my left TFL tight again. I dont know if I use the wrong muscle or not. Thank you

How long will it take me to walk this way without consciously thinking about it?❤. Started walking your way 5-6 months ago and I still catch myself walking wrong and correct myself. Since I started your way my feet haven’t hurt and I’m so grateful my husband found your channel. God blessed me with your instructions and I’m grateful.

The shoes are the primary issue with a consistent stride. If you are wearing barefoot shoes/barefoot, then it will be your mechanics.
In a future video, I will touch on this and provide some tips.

    • @Josecunyat
      @Josecunyat Рік тому

Is normal that you heel strike with conventional shoes. I did transition a year ago to barefoot shoes and I do still heel strike. Is learned along many years. When barefeet is easier to go with good mechanics because your brain adapts. With barefoot shoes your brain feels protected but you are not. My articulations hurt frecuently and I have to walk for some time with cushioned altra shoes. Strangely for me is easier to go with good mechanics with altra shoes somehow. Maybe is good for me learn with them for some time…
