If your favourite strategem is the Eagle Napalm strike, you're probably Robert Duvall in Apocalypse now looking to set a whole hill alight so you can say the line: "I love the smell of napalm in the morning, smells like victory"
and adding on, "If your favorite is the Quasar Cannon, you like the expendable anti tank, but you don't wanna wait for the cooldown and drop time, so you settle for waiting a few seconds instead to expend freedom in a contained laserblast." either that or "you sometimes like to use it on anything that isn't a heavy and that gets you killed by the heavy around the corner."
To answer on why some of us use eagle rocket pods: The eagle rocket pods targets the biggest target and able to penetrate through heavy armor (at the cost of damage, of course) while still having some mob clearing capability of the eagle airstrike. This translates to a greater room for errors when compared to 500kg for killing heavies (because the eagle would "aim" for the heaviest target) and you could literally throw it onto your team mate that is swarmed with almost no worries that it would kill your team mate.
As someone who brings both the arc thrower and the motars to insect mission, all I can say in most of you will die but thats a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
Gatling Sentey and Gatling Orbital are my go to stratagems for Terminid dives. While everyone brings the big bombs, I make sure that all the small trash gets taken out asap. If the stratagems are not enough, I'll just use my breaker incendiary. Works like a charm
Correction If the EMS mortar sentry is your favorite, the normal mortar sentry used to be your favorite but you're scared of accidentally teamkilling everyone so now you just use this thing and then throw grenades at them. Somehow you still managed to kill half your team.
The autocannon turret has wiped my team more than anything else because I swear that thing always turns around to dome one of my teammates before shooting at the enemy like we have to sacrifice a diver to have it work as intended. And if you don't destroy it before pushing up, then say goodbye to your knee caps because it will aim through them to shoot the head glitching raider hiding in a trench. And that's what I love about the autocannon turret.
You know what,I do love the HMG mounted turret. I even bring it on non defensive missions. And I will surround myself in ap mines and fire mines, wearing a bubble shield and 50% explosive dmg resistance
Um, the rocket fucking sentry is amazing. Its held hell at the gate many times for me and i believe it targets the toughest enemy it can from my experience.
I usually run the EMS mortor, and it never occured to me to use it to run away. I only use it when i am protecting a position, it is great at highlighting where the enemy is and giving me easy headshots. It also does not kill allies when they are hit with it, which is nice.
Orbital Precision does more damage than the 500kg, but in a smaller radius. It can destroy rogue research stations, as well as any bot objective besides fuel reserves.
I change my loadout quite often in different missions depending on difficulty or enemy but the one that I keep 90% of the time is the Autocannon Sentry. I usually place it at a high point that can overlook a field and can rain down on enemies from a distance while lessening risk of hitting my teammates unless if they are right next to the enemy that my Sentry sees.
I love the Guarddog Rover + flame thrower, but I have had so many incidents where my rover literally beheads a fellow helldiver while trying to track a flanking hunter
I always bring the Orbital Rail Cannon with me. Never know when you'll need to one shot a Hulk chasing after a friend with all the samples that somehow got split off from the team.
Ballistic Shield diver here! Defender SMG+grenade pistol+stun grenades+laser cannon lets you handle most things bot-side, especially if your team is good about dealing with rocket destroyers. You can walk up to a factory strider unmolested if you keep your shield up, stop their ejection of bots with a stun grenade, and blow them up from beneath by laser cannoning them in the belly.
The orbital smoke strike deploys differently compared to the eagle smoke strike also since it's not a eagle it has no need to re-arm just a cooldown (the orbital smoke strike deploy in more of a circle instead of a line making it alot better)
With the flamethrower you want everything well done. The bugs, the terrain, the teammates. All while cackling maniacally to yourself. "Smells like...victory." Also you only eat toasted marshmallows that are pieces of charcoal.
I usually play with other people, and my multiplayer build is a Tank-killer. Railgun, Shield Pack, Eagle Strike, and Railcannon orbital. I'll occasionally switch to Arc Thrower because that's what i used before I got the Railgun, and I planned for it to be in my build before I realized you can't use multiple weapon strategems.
Tip: Mortars against bugs only make sense on defense missions because they always try to close the gap as soon as possible. That puts you in danger. Mortar against automatons are almost always good to go because they don't prioritise closing the gap and mostly engage in distance! But they sometimes do, so beware.
You Gotta use eagle smokestrike like you are laying down trenches for your squad to push onward into extreme number of automatons, it's really fun. Also if close enough the flashlight into the smoke causes enemies to glow.
My favorite strategy is the Spear more than anything because of how much time it saves on bot missions because it can destroy fabricators from all angles at any range, and while the lock is finicky, it's reliable enough. It also lets me destroy stratagem jammers before they even become relevant. I also think that strafing run is a sorely underrated stratagem just. It comes out almost instantly and goes in a straight line in front of you, so it's easy to control
It may sound stupid to you all, but it works for me. I use supply packs, precision strikes, railcannon strikes, and eagle airstrikes. For equipment, i use defender smg, gp-31, and infiltrator light armor. It's kinda fun to get deep behind the battle line, being stealthy, alone, calling airstrikes, while dodging hulk, patrol, tank, walking factory, and turret left and right in prone position also collecting samples.
Probably jump pack, because I'm a cat. I love going in places I'm not supposed to when no one's looking unleashing mayhem and then walking away as if it's someone else's fault. Truly one of the best stealth tools. precision strike is actually pretty fucking good, like I'll legit bring that to solo Helldives. I never actually used the prenerf railgun. It's not my absolute favorite but it's competent for what it does. From what I understand, safe mode used to be as strong as unsafe mode is now, which truly does sound broken.
i’ve been kicked on high diff terminids for bringing Gas strike, an Orbital Strike, a supply pack, B-01 Tactical Armour, the punisher, the basic pistol and the HE. like, it’s not my fault you wanna hug your Shield-Quasar-500KG-Mortar-Medkit-Light-Sickle-Uzi-Meta build, but let me enjoy the content that most everyone has access to and should have the ability to use
5:35 I used to use impacts, but only being able to kill 2 tanks, hulks, or turrets that have to be facing away from you off the spawn and 1 per resupply box is too inefficient. With the 110mm rocket pods, that’s 3 tanks, turrets, or fabricators regardless of facing every 2 minutes. Also 1 stun grenade and headshotting a hulk is much more fun and easier than getting behind it. Also also the auto cannon can do exactly what impacts do but better, faster, from any range, and more often. (These are my strats in level 9s where hulks and tanks come at you in large numbers)
No Eagle Napalm Strike and barely an Eagle Air Strike? Really? My personal favorites? Cluster Bomb Run, Stalwart/MG-43, and - as someone who runs SMGs a bunch - I do have a soft spot for the Ballistic Shield. It's saved me many times before, and it will continue to do so. (Also, can someone tell me where to find that Helldiver with Angel Wings picture, at 7:45, without the strategems in the background?)
I have two favorites: Flamethrower and Arc Thrower so I guess I'm a Sith Lord with a barbecue obsession. Really I just like pretending to be a wizard by throwing various flavors of elemental death at enemies. My fav guns are the Breaker incendiary and Bllitzer soooo... yeah.
I learned the first time I used it that with an unassisted by servo arms max distance throw of a 380mm, you start in its area of effect and need to take a good few steps back

low-key the ballistic shields buffs make it pretty damn good, run that with the defender and you can head on a heavy devastator and win without taking a single hit
I use the AMR cuz I just can't aim with the Autocannon anymore. I tried AMR and used my monitor's crosshair overlay to "cheat" and get third person aim with it, and now I've realized that the 3rd person reticle is just as crappy (especially with the moving circle thing) as all the built in holographic sights the guns have. The autocannon is legitimately more powerful and has more versatility since it can yeet bug holes and bot factories, but I just CAN'T use it as well as the AMR. Plus the AMR is safer at close range, too.
I mean tbf, for the new automaton defence missions, my favourite setup is HMG Emplacement + Shield Generator, Supply Pack if someone is running a support weapon that can be resupplied, and either the Arc Thrower or the Quasar Cannon. (I don't like Hulks so it's probably the Quasar, Hulks can eat my democracy)

and adding on, "If your favorite is the Quasar Cannon, you like the expendable anti tank, but you don't wanna wait for the cooldown and drop time, so you settle for waiting a few seconds instead to expend freedom in a contained laserblast."
either that or "you sometimes like to use it on anything that isn't a heavy and that gets you killed by the heavy around the corner."
real as hell
ok bro, how tf did you know that i had a entire gundam collection in the back of my room
To answer on why some of us use eagle rocket pods:
The eagle rocket pods targets the biggest target and able to penetrate through heavy armor (at the cost of damage, of course) while still having some mob clearing capability of the eagle airstrike.
Honestly, this is really well made! Sub earned
as a ballistic shield main, i can confirm i exist
Gatling Sentey and Gatling Orbital are my go to stratagems for Terminid dives. While everyone brings the big bombs, I make sure that all the small trash gets taken out asap. If the stratagems are not enough, I'll just use my breaker incendiary. Works like a charm
Correction
If the EMS mortar sentry is your favorite, the normal mortar sentry used to be your favorite but you're scared of accidentally teamkilling everyone so now you just use this thing and then throw grenades at them.
"If orbital gas strike is your favorite strategem, then probably you like Hi-"
This video brought me joy. Good luck to you. :D
You know what,I do love the HMG mounted turret. I even bring it on non defensive missions. And I will surround myself in ap mines and fire mines, wearing a bubble shield and 50% explosive dmg resistance
Stalwart, precision strike, that one orbital version of eagle rocket pods, and airstrike is my setup
Never felt so accurately called out in one of these, by the patriot exosuit stratagem.
This is hilarious Helldiver. Nice work
Nice work, fellow Helldiver. May liberty guide you on your next dives for democracy (:
Thank you may all your cups of LIBERTY be sweet
Good job ❤ this video is 🔥
Thankyou ❤️
MLG helldivers edits is something I didn't realize I needed so much
Um, the rocket fucking sentry is amazing. Its held hell at the gate many times for me and i believe it targets the toughest enemy it can from my experience.
That gas strat hit me right in the feels man 😂❤
I usually run the EMS mortor, and it never occured to me to use it to run away. I only use it when i am protecting a position, it is great at highlighting where the enemy is and giving me easy headshots. It also does not kill allies when they are hit with it, which is nice.
Precision strike: “Dear ____,”
Orbital 120mm: “To whom it may concern,”
Orbital 380mm: @everyone
Orbital Precision does more damage than the 500kg, but in a smaller radius. It can destroy rogue research stations, as well as any bot objective besides fuel reserves.
I used to use the mortar strat until i started accidentally killing team mates and then i found the ems mortar strat, works so much better
Whatever removes things from my sight as efficiently as possible
not even a minute in and Im cracking up at the machine gun one
I love the Guarddog Rover + flame thrower, but I have had so many incidents where my rover literally beheads a fellow helldiver while trying to track a flanking hunter
I always bring the Orbital Rail Cannon with me. Never know when you'll need to one shot a Hulk chasing after a friend with all the samples that somehow got split off from the team.
All in all but if you use orbital railing cannon, then you just want a mf *gone*; low tier god, *now*.
The orbital smoke strike deploys differently compared to the eagle smoke strike also since it's not a eagle it has no need to re-arm just a cooldown
(the orbital smoke strike deploy in more of a circle instead of a line making it alot better)
With the flamethrower you want everything well done. The bugs, the terrain, the teammates. All while cackling maniacally to yourself. "Smells like...victory."
Also you only eat toasted marshmallows that are pieces of charcoal.
The expendable rocket ditty was marvelous lol
Used to be a supply pack enjoyer, now I am an Arc Thrower, Tesla Tower main.
I haven't seen the video yet, I'll watch it on my lunch but I will say that this video idea is genius.
It comes out almost instantly and goes in a straight line in front of you, so it's easy to control
never watched a gundam series but boy let me tell you about battletech! great video
From what I understand, safe mode used to be as strong as unsafe mode is now, which truly does sound broken.
i’ve been kicked on high diff terminids for bringing Gas strike, an Orbital Strike, a supply pack, B-01 Tactical Armour, the punisher, the basic pistol and the HE. like, it’s not my fault you wanna hug your Shield-Quasar-500KG-Mortar-Medkit-Light-Sickle-Uzi-Meta build, but let me enjoy the content that most everyone has access to and should have the ability to use
who else paused for 2 minutes just to think of a stratagem before the video started?
Edit: It was orbital laser and it's factual
My favorite is the flame thrower and I will not apologize, but a very close second is the supply pack because its just so dang convenient for everyone
I have two favorites: Flamethrower and Arc Thrower so I guess I'm a Sith Lord with a barbecue obsession. Really I just like pretending to be a wizard by throwing various flavors of elemental death at enemies. My fav guns are the Breaker incendiary and Bllitzer soooo... yeah.
Grenade Launcher + Supply pack = Bottemless Grenades.
I learned the first time I used it that with an unassisted by servo arms max distance throw of a 380mm, you start in its area of effect and need to take a good few steps back
Where is the quasar cannon? Might of missed it but didn’t see it in your stratagem menu? If so am I not supposed to have it? I have it… and my friend does and we use it constantly. Just a bit confused :v
No you're right I recorded this footage right before the Queso cannon and Heavy MSG came out and I figured I'd save them for a part 2 one day.
@@nicericeninja thank you! You would be surprised how much I’ve heard that the cannon didn’t exist yet just confused me that’s all. Well thanks for the reply! Have a great rest of day
Isn't napalm missing to?
11:11 Sadly the Patriot is less Gundam and more uh... Well I want to say Battletech but there's probably another mech series this is even closer to.
Also props for using The 08th MS Team.
Thanks! It's a personal favorite lol
I always use the gas strike, flamethrower, and supply pack. In that order. What does that make me?
I mean, I love CBRN, but I also spend a lot of time asking my team if they need supplies...
Does the ammo smell? I can't tell because of my gas mask.
II like the shield backpack, because it kinda helps stop the guard dog form killing me as much
"If the shield backpack is your favorite stratagem, then you probably have trust issues"
Nah the balistic shield works now ! Really funny to tank turret shot with this, even when it sends you flying.
low-key the ballistic shields buffs make it pretty damn good, run that with the defender and you can head on a heavy devastator and win without taking a single hit
I use flame thrower to literally only create flame walls to prevent being overwhelmed by small things.
5:20 what was that clip from that looked epic?
*me with 500 kg running in the middle of a cluster of enemies popping a stim singing here comes the sun*
ahhhh the amount of teamkills i have gotten from the mortar may equal the amount of bugs its killed
I’m not a gundam fan, I just like dopamine rushes of being in a mech suit and deleating bugs.
Though the autocannon is my favorite stratagem, I also very much adore the ballistic shield backpack and orbital precision strike.
Me, looking at my collection of 40k knights and dreadnoughts: yeah, this guy got it right
