I saw a gray wolf step right in front of my car out of the woods in 1990. I believe they were regionally extinct then! It was taller than the hood of my car!! I will never forget!!!I’ve seen Yellowstone in the snow . Amazing.
I love seeing that pack of wolves in their own natural habitat and environment. It is there's forever. I can't wait to see these sights in person. Your video again has me jazzed up and poured fuel on my motivated fire. (You do look cold, thanks for the experienced advice). My ideal exploration and adventure includes many animals. You got it. You did it. I think this video is the one in which you saw the most animals.
@@AliceFordAdventures yes both the Yellowstone video and your Galapagos video are incredible. I'm Playdough. I watch one of your vids, and say, this is my favorite. Few days later I watch another and say the same thing about the second vid. So I don't know what I'm doing. But lovin' them all. Really, I know this takes so much time and work, focus and effort. But at the same time, you are really living a fully thrilling life, experiencing places, nature, Earth, people and the soul of the planet.
Yellowstone is an otherworldly place. You'll see colors in the springs there that you see no where else in nature. I loved the footage of the wolves! Thanks for sharing.
What great memories this one brings back! This is exactly what we did during Christmas week of 2008, staying at the Mammoth Hot Springs Lodge, going out for four days of guided wolf spotting primarily but seeing other wildlife as well (including a grizzly!), snowshoeing, and experiencing the bitter, bitter cold. Also got in a half-day dog sledding adventure outside the park. During our stay, the high temps never got above 0 degrees F. Your information about visiting the Lamar Valley area in winter is spot on! One thing I would add though, is allow a few days before and after a winter park visit if flying into Bozeman. This gives one flexibility for winter road conditions. On our visit I-90 was actually closed for about 36 hours due to high wind and blowing snow. Livingston is a great town to hang out in pre- and post- park visit and they have some nice restaurants and museums. Again, thanks for the memories!!
Thanks for the extra tips. I was lucky and had pretty good roads driving over from Idaho and was heading to Jackson Home after. It’s pretty amazing in winter I’m glad you had a great visit too
@@AliceFordAdventures As a flatlander from the southeast with little or no winter driving experience in that part of the country, I was really impressed with how the Montana Transportation Department kept the roads plowed, salted and open. But even they couldn't do anything about the high winds and blowing snow on I-90. Safe travels!
@@AliceFordAdventures there are a few wolves and moose in the upper peninsula, but some of the moose die from a parasitic brain worm that is carried by whitetail deer.

Thank you so much for sharing. Such a great and informative video! Do you think its worth to book a guided tour? We are trying to decide whether we should book a tour or just go by ourselves.
Thank you yes it’s 100% worth it to book a guided tour for two reasons. Sometimes the road conditions are less than great you might want someone else driving just for that. Also, the tour guides have radio contact with people out in the park looking for wildlife, so instead of just driving around aimlessly, you’re actually tracking the wildlife and can get there quicker.
