I saw this at our local picture theater when I was 14, I’m 72 now, fantastic special affects for that era. Seen many sci-fi over the decades.. but this still remains one of my favorites.
Glad you enjoyed the movie :)
I'm 73. This film and the Day the Earth Stood Still were and still are my favorites! Loved those b&w Saturday night horror shows on tv
Yes still one of the best sci fi maded....I'm 81 yes old
You are 72 now because ufo abtucted you in 1956 and released suddenly to 1966.
@@gabbyhyman1246 We are glad you enjoyed the movie. We will post move movies like this in the future :)
THE MORE I SEE THIS SCI-FI MOVIE, THE MORE I LOVE IT. A TRUE WINNER , CLASSIC.
Glad you liked the movie. We will post more like this :)
These are the movies that my cousin and I grew up on! These movies and The Twilight Zone, One Sep Beyond, and all the other Sci-Fi movies of the era.
Thanks for reminding us of our childhood, awesome!
Glad you enjoyed the movie :)
Night boat to Cairo
Another Ray Harryhausen movie is ALWAYS worth watching.
Only One Harryhausen his movie looks great in color .👍
One of the better sci-fi flying saucer movies made. Another Ray Harryhausen masterpiece with a good script and ending. Thanks for the post. Joe S
Glad you enjoyed it :)
I liked it better than "Independence Day" with Will Smith, even if the special effects were less advanced back then.
A classic!! Thanks so much for posting such a good print.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
My absolute favourite movie all through my childhood years. Ray Harryhausen managed to give the saucers a personality.
That's true. He is a genius :)
Paul Frees should get a special Oscar just for all his voice work.
Glad you enjoyed the movie :)
Boris Badenoff ROCKS!
The great works of Ray Harryhausen
Great work indeed. Glad you enjoyed the movie :)
Love how that B-29 Superfortress turns into a B-17 Flying Fortress as it explodes and tumbles outta da sky!
Yes, that was really cool. We are glad you enjoyed the movie :)
I love how they use differential analyzer, which is an analog computer designed to solve differential equations by integration, as a means of translating the alien language..... I love these 1950s Science fiction films!
Glad you enjoyed the movie :)
Brilliant! I must have seen this when i was a kid back in the seventies. I saw all the rest. But i don't recall, so it was fun to see it as new.
We are glad you enjoyed the movie. We will post more movies like this in the future. Enjoy :)
I first saw this movie on its first release in April 1956, on a double feature bill with the first true life documentary about UFOs, titled "U.F.O." (UA, 1956). They boggled my mind and gave this boy nightmares of an alien invasion at age 8-1/2. Ray Harryhausen's saucers are incredibly animated, and the visual and audio effects are spectacular. Paul Frees contributed great voiceover work. Morris Ankrum is well cast as General John Hanley. Hugh Marlowe in his cigarette-edged voice is great star material, after his role as Tom, the Judas character in DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (Fox, 1951). Joan Taylor is good as his devoted wife assistant as well as her other co-starring role in Ray Harryhausen's 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH (Columbia, 1957).
Wow! Glad to know that you watched it's first release. Ray Harryhausen is has done an amazing job indeed.
Got to love ol' Mother Earth. One minute we are met with storms and floods, the next it's a calm summers day. All communication is at a standstill, the next the army have their phonelines up and running.....Wish BT were that quick....
An Absolutely excellent film with good acting great special effects by Ray Harryhousen. Made in the 50s and better than most of the overblown modern SiFi Films that have crap CGI effects. The 50s were the best of all for some Classic SiFi movies.
Classic Sci-fi indeed. We are glad that you enjoyed the movie :)
A. Very. Good. Classic. Alien. 👽🤖 movie 👽🤖👍
Classic Indeed. We are glad you enjoyed the movie :)
LOVE THIS SCI -FI MOVIE. ACTING IS EXCELLENT. DEFINITELY, THEY DON'T MAKE MOVIES THIS GREAT ANYMORE. HAS A SPECIAL FEELING ABOUT IT. TO THE PERSON(S) WHO UPLOADED THIS I WANT TO SAY GREAT JOB AND THANK YOU!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
You are most welcome :) We are glad you enjoyed the movie. We will post more movies like this in the future. Stay Tuned.
The coloration in this film is excellent. Just the right amount of saturation. however.
B+W has unappreciated virtues. At the time of this movie, B+W was the standard. Color was reserved for hi-budget films. Today it is a style like impressionism. It encouraged suspension of disbelief and it haunts dreams and memories like a charcoal sketch. Color is great for special effects but they are so over-used that it has become, ho-hum and secondary to the story.. That being said, B+W has its place and it is best represented some of these old movies
Apparently Ray Harryhousen was in favour of having the movie Colourised . Have it on DVD with both versions. Also, 20 million Miles to Earth another great Harryhousen movie
We are glad that you enjoyed the movie :)
When all we had was black&white TV , a lot of peoples sleeping dreams were in B&W. I seen this movie many times in B&W , I enjoyed it more in living color .
@@marklmansfield I stated that in the beginning of my posts. This film was fine example of colorization. Today, it is a matter of style and not to disagree in matters of taste, I can't picture Paper Moon or Last Picture Show in color... Perhaps it is just me, but I can't remember ever dreaming in color... My point is that B+W has some aesthetic virtues.
@@Larkinchance B+W has some aesthetic virtues. I agree completely . Some of my picks would be ; Steve Martin's-"Dead Men don't wear Plaid , Woody Allen-Zelig , Casablanca . Key Largo But I wouldn't mind seeking them again in Color .
I have seen Casablanca colorized but that was quite awhile back and they have made so-much improvement since then .
I was really impressed by the color of the Cars in the garage scene and the sharper details of everything that I have to give this one a thumbs up 👍
Love these old movies, ty for sharing them
You are most welcome :) We are glad you enjoyed the movie.
"You're starting something you're not going to be able to finish." 3:40 In Hugh Marlow's case, no truer words have ever been said 😂 😂 😂
Thank you.
Most Welcome :)
There was a sequel planned, but it never got going. It was about an alien chef who comes to Earth, and opens a restaurant. It is so successful, the other local restaurant owners attack him. Alas, Earth vs the Frying Saucer was never made.
This is among the finest early ‘Flying Saucer’ films ever conceived. In the DVD set of the production, I found the audio commentary disheartening due to criticisms of Hugh Marlowe who also appeared in The Day The Earth Stood Still.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
@@newsusadigital-tv7274 Thank you for uploading it.
Thanks a million for putting this out there. Great animation from Harryhousen. And it's always a pleasure to see DC destroyed. 😂
Glad you enjoyed the movie :)
One of the best looking flying saucers next to the C-57D!
@@samuelwright1129 Glad you enjoyed the movie:)
Glad you enjoyed it :)
It is Harryhausen's saucers crashing that made this a classic.
MAN. THE 50,S WERE SCI-FI CRAZY... BC THAT'S WHAT MAKE 💵. SCI-FI. IS AMAZING. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE...
Barbara Rush in those little white gloves.
The alien outfits were comprised of "frozen electricity." They must have been pretty darned light to wear, given that electrons have no mass.
Great Movie!
@@samuelwright1129 Glad you liked the movie :)
I'm only here for the cars. 🤫
Thank you very much

AT 6:37 ZIPPO LIGHTER APPEARS . COOOOOOL😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it :)
It seems to me that beings, capable of transiting between stars, would be able to stop their crafts from crashing into Earths monuments constantly.
This on the year I was born, those monsters didn’t appreciate architecture, odd how they didn’t destroy the White House, the humans appeared a little weak and ineffective to have made any impression, I except that all 36 actors this were now dead, and this film was a tribute to them.
Glad that you enjoyed the movie :)
@@newsusadigital-tv7274 It was interesting
"So, let's go to Earth for another joyride."
"And freak out the little Earthlings? Love it."
"Yeah...you got their mind crazy juice from last time?"
"B...bur...borr...Bourbon?"
"Sure does improve my flying skills after drinking that!!"
"Yeah...let's try that desert site this time."
"That place they call Roswell? Sure thing."
Pretty good special effects for 1956.
Good show guys, keep her lit and no surrender.
This movie had the sun/meteorological connection pretty good. It's almost prescient.
Hugh Marlowe , King of the " B " sci-fi flicks ....
Glad that you enjoyed the movie :)
Day the earth stood still hugh
I love the opening scene, all these clerks typing like mad. As if there hundreds of reports every hour. Bahahahahaaa
Ha ha. Glad you enjoyed the movie :)
They colorized it. Wow!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
The Days of Coffee, Sugar, Dairy, Tobacco, Liquor, Red Meat and Guns..LoL
And 60 yr old men dated 23 yr old women in the movies and nobody thought it was weird
Glad that you enjoyed the movie :)
i have seen this movie many times, first time colorized. not sure if i like it, but it does look ok. why did you upload at 360p? with your re master you should have it at 1080.
paul frees voice is the best. columbia made this flick for peanuts, but ray harryhausen did a masterful job with very little bucks. love all the use of stock footage.
Glad you enjoyed the movie. We will try to post 1080 in the future.
7:35 "Where a calculator like ENIAC today is equipped with 18,000 vacuum tubes and weighs 30 tons, computers in the future may have only 1000 vacuum tubes and perhaps weigh only 1½ tons."
I was 7 when this came out, scared us kids s%*tless.
Did anyone notice the following? In such a situation, the President is never seen or heard FM 2 make any decisions.😊
I think that flying saucer would have a serious dent in it if he hit that 56 Ford lol
quarter inch thick chrome bumpers would rip todays cars open like an aluminum can 😄
I thought this was black and white !
31:33 she loves her dad so much but oh I got married but you weren't invited 😊
22:14 V2 exploding..guard still at attention even when saucer landing lol..hugh marlowe day the earth stood still
Vgg is fixing on the first classic car made in Mexico. 1956 I believe
Is the actor who played Dr. Marlowe the same guy who featured in the "Gargoyles" movie in the early 60s? Looks like him from what I can recall.
One guy looked like Mr Brewster from the Hillbillys.
That's Miss Milly from The Rifleman!!
'We come in pea....'...Blammooo!!!!😮😂
I remember seeing this movie at the theater when I was around 10. What a great old classic Scifi movie it is! It was very enjoyable to watch it again for the second time tonight! Thanks for the upload!😊

Oh my, foolishly reliant on DC batteries to operate critical Reel-to-Reel AC tape recorders of critical scientific information ???
Should have installed 10KW Honda gas powered portable AC emergency generators. 😤😖😢
I love these old sci films they are so wonderfully sexist and misogynistic back in the day when men were men and women were grateful and not previously other men, ahh so normal
Please respect these classics by honoring their original medium: black & white. If color, then update music score. If color, please add extra scenes. NO COLOR !
When militaty surrendered to Washington baureocrats it's all over but the uncontrolled nose-dive & CRASH into a mountain side !!
BAIL OUT, BAIL OUT !!!
Bye
I hope Trump doesn't see this and then get ideas
Ridiculous movie.
Colorized movies are BS. It's an insult to the cinematographer. B&W cinematography is different.
No they are not. No it isn't. Obviously.
@@pressureworks Bite me...
I love them😊
The meeting at the White House had better be between 10 am and 4 pm otherwise you won't be able to expect the President to be cognitive!
Which is STILL better than most government service offices today
And even working those hours he's still worked harder than that other fella did.
Last president was an incompetent 🤡 who didn't even come down to work til after 11 a.m.
Cute💩
