To be fair, most of these demos were only a few kb in size and I think the Amiga could load around 10-20kb per second, hence why it loaded up pretty much as soon as you put the disk in. In fact it could have been even quicker because most demos were highly compressed and the Amiga had to decompress them which added a slight delay.
It's my guess that most of the coders cut their teeth writing demos for the C64 and were used to creating incredibly compact code. When I started coding on a Sinclair ZX80 I had a massive 1kb to play with. You had to be creative!

37:39 I was wrapped to see one of my old groups crack intro's in there... Punishers.. Caddy was a cool guy I met him at one of the few Aussie Parties in Canberra where he compiled his demo (at the time with DefJam) for the comp on my A500. I've often wondered all these years later where he got to.

I always thought to myself 35 years ago, these fuckers should be making the software - they are so much more ahead of these other programmers. I hated when the day I had to shut my bbs down because of issues with fraudulent cards…….. i remember those times with the fraudulent calling cards. i thought it were sprint cards. in europe they used those to login on bbs in the USA for free. the biggest problem was because some people started to selling them and then the FBI actually caught a guy from a huge group. but it was a lot of fun. specially calling pizzahut in the states and ask them to deliver a pizza to europe :)

However, I am (or was) Top-Azz / Parallax Design (or Amaze) and composed a series of such zip-modules (Piknukipale 1-4 and Hyperpiknukipale) early 90’s. As a big fan of intros I have to admit that I prefer the C64 Intros because of the unique sound of the sid chip. The Amiga was so superior in graphics and other aspects, but the sound is a little to clean IMHO. Nevertheless both computer where unmatched in the 80s, what a great time.
As someone who coded SO many cracktros for various groups, I do have to chuckle at The Company Vroom cracktro where they used the wrong replay routine and you get that horrible out of tune note at the end. Nice enough cracktro though. Jesus, the Paradise cracktro did it too. Come on boys, it isn't that difficult to use the right replayer.

It is called Loader Tune 1 (using my pseudonym Accel), I wrote it in about 1991 probably sometime between being in Ipec Elite and Dimension X but got shared around a lot of groups in cracks but was meant for an intro that never got finished

The Amiga was (and still is)Such an incredible Home computer that even the intros were EPIC !
Most times these intros show more technical expertise working with the Amiga than the games itself.
These were real pieces of arts.
Except when the game was Agony or Lionheart :-)

It's a Future Composer module from Horizon called Blaizer. I have the module and you can play it on a pc using deliplayer
