  • We went back to the drawing board on the timing for this KA. We were not able to get it to the 20 degree spec. There wasn't much making sense after all of the testing. After doing some research, pulled the timing cover and found the problem. I believe this could help someone in the future because I am sure there are a lot of engines with cheap aftermarket timing kits installed.
Test drive went great and now to put some miles on the new clutch...

Where do you have the blue hose at 6:45 connected to? The air line on the cold pipe right before the TB. Is it going to the IACV? Also where do you have the PCV line set up to? I assume one goes to the pcv valve and one on the valve cover breather?

That one goes to the hard pipe under the intake manifold to the Idle air control valve

HI Cody, please help me with my truck that it's got a wrong timing. I started putting it to TDC witch I clank by hand to it's mark on the clankply, velves piston on it's top the spkplus point to # 1 on at 5:00 direction n I went down to adjust the oil pump to its mark n connect the distributor to it n start it, it ran terrible, to this point how do I get it wrong or know it jumps teeth, I wait for you n thank you. It's my only truck I love.❤😂

Make sure it tdc on the compression stroke not the exhaust stroke. Check the cam(s) to see if the valves are in the sealed position. Usually if its a double cam the came lobes Nose should be pointing left 10 o clock ish and right side 2 o clock

@@garagehotcar it turns out it's not my sprocket, but I am maxed to one side so I think I lucked out there, however it's smoking quite a lot...I think my cars biggest issue is that its a pos.
