back in 2010 I rebuilt my DE with 1990 sohc pistons. they are flat top and raise the comp to 11.1...the 89 pistons raise it even higher but iirc that requires head work. all I did was slap them in my block and go... rock auto had a clearance on KA24E sohc pistons with rings which came to $68 shipped. i was running intake, pacesetter 4-1 header, and your typical early 2010's angled n1 style catback. after break in, we ended up running a 10.2 in the 1/8 mile with 225 50 15's on the stock rear diff. with the 17's on the backroads it was a fun car. it had a lot of power, but i should have tuned it. i ended up selling it and getting a wrx but it was pretty sweet.
I have a 2000 Nissan frontier I would like to know if I could use the iron block off of a Altima around the same year and if the cylinder heads are compatible as well please help me I've been searching for a frontier engine and all I can find right now is Altima engine
My KA24E in my D21 blew out it's timing chain tensioner. I ignored the rattle for too long, and the stock one is all plastic. I thought it was worse and pulled the engine. It sat for so long before I did anything that the fuel pump seized. Replaced that, and it would almost kind of run with a lot of ether. Found I had timing messed up badly and the oil pump was off a tooth or two. Now it won't start at all. Guess next step is fuel injectors, or something electronic. Need to try to pull codes. Waited a week, so I assume if I super flooded it, it's drained out by now. Pulled plug #1 and it does spark. Could always pull the rest and see. It was a solid beast while it was running. Hoping to get it back there again. I'm more of a suspension guy than an engine guy, so I'm well out of my wheelhouse. If it does run, it'll need some exhaust work. Manifold didn't come off the engine but came off the pipe, now not going back together. I'm more rock crawler than drifter, so I'm not sure high hp is my game. Not that I'd turn down a few more...
Great video broooo

Technically can do egr delete on any car

Not sure about that, easiest to find pictures of bare blocks and see if the holes align
Half counterweight crankshaft is annoying for me.
can the ones in the fwd me converted to rwde?
Depends. If the bellhousing matches then ye. But fwd engines have differently located stuff
People dont even understand the sohc ka is pretty good turbo. They will take so much abuse and keep on running forever
Yeah KAs are tough man
@@marcinjedrol The trail blazer motor is a monster also. Aluminum block and head. Its basically a 6 cy ls and just as strong
